On holiday in Devon when the front driver's side brake seized up on our campervan and became undriveable. Called Autoaid and rescue arrived in the form of Bob from Highfield garage within the 2 hour estmated time scale. Bob is clearly very experienced and professional. He was slso proactive in keeping us informed & kindly reassured us that he would be able to fix the problem on the "roadside" and it wouldn't affect our holiday. Sure enough as promised and within the hour Bob had taken the wheel off & cleaned the brake enabling us to continue with our break away. Thank you from two very grateful customers.

Broke down on the M5 on the way to Cornwall with the kids and the dog in the car. AA passed to Highfields to deal with. I cannot praise them enough. Towed us off the motorway to services quickly. They then attended to check the car which wasn’t fixable so towed us to Exeter sorted a courtesy car for the week so we could continue with our holiday then towed ours back up north when we returned. Simon the mechanic was brilliant at sorting things out for us and all the staff were super helpful… definitely recommend. Thank you.

Burst side wall of tire last night due to pothole /awful road and green flag send a recovery truck from highfieldgarage.co.uk to rescue me 30 miles to destination.

Green flag promised a time and changed it twice which I think is green flag's (all the breakdown co.s) policy about priority cases (annoying because if I'd started with a 2 hour window, I could have ordered food before pub kitchen closed).

The priority case issue is that whilst I and most folk completely support rescuing the genuinely vulnerable first, many folk who use these services often have reacted by claiming to be vulnerable when they are not to jump the queue.
Not even an option to pay more to get faster service it seems. My first time and lesson is carry a full sized spare wheel but seems only way to avoid queue jumping abusers of breakdowns system in place for vulnerable is leave to another country where they are less tolerant of this. I am not prepared to join in with the abusers.

Anyway when I was finally first in queue, was very happy to get a call from highfield garage not long after after pub was shut and I was thinking about driving on the flat to escape the cold.

After that driver arrived exactly as promised and was efficient, freindly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Allowed me to travel with the dog in the cab on the floor (which I know is not guaranteed) and whilst his super comfortable modern truck was.too big to head up the farm track for the last 300m, he went above and beyond putting some air in the tyre so I could drive it up the track with no damage.

Broke down on a long trip from Cornwall to Towcester to North Wales at Exeter. My breakdown service put Highfield Garage on the case. They turned up promptly, took the car to Exeter Services and arranged recovery when they couldn't fix it. The recovery to North Wales happened 3 days later as requested after my business in Towcester and they lent me a courtesy car. Excellent service.

Quick and efficient work. The pickup truck came about 1/2 hour after I made the breakdown call. The chap took time to inspect everything in the engine and could tell me clearly what the problem was.

We suffered a burst tyre and our breakdown company were less than helpful. However on contacting Highfield direct they could not have been more helpful. They confirmed they had the correct tyre, recovered us to their garage, fixed it and we were on our way to Brighton again. Very reassuring at all times on a very harrowing morning. Thank you.

When we broke down on Dartmoor, Bob from Highfield Garage & Recovery Ltd came to our rescue through Green Flag. He was great, keeping me informed throughout. He tried very hard to get the spare part needed, but with it being a Sunday couldn't, so he then sorted us out with a curtesy car. He kept me well informed at every step of the process.

Having called Green Flag for assiatsnce i was thrilled to receice a call fron Simon who made me feel less anxious and he arrived at the time he stated. He was very polite profesional and put my mind at rest.I would highly recimmend Simon to anyone who needs assistance having broken down. He explained what the problem was and didnt make me feel incompetent .It was a pleasure to have such a profesional technician come to my aid. I would rate the service as being 100 percent

I pranged my trusty Skoda attempting to exit Gordano Services onto a busy, fast moving 4 lane roundabout with no traffic lights. Ended up with a suspected leaking radiator. The recovery guy from Highfield Bristol took control , checked the radiator etc , pronounced the car drivable and I was able to drive onto my destination that evening. I was very impressed - and relieved.

If you’re going to break down, make sure you do it within range of these guys. Brilliant service from top to bottom.

I cannot recommend this company enough. It's a long story which I won't go into but our car broke down in Devon, we live in Surrey & our breakdown company wouldn't come out.
Highfield Garage & Recovery were booked to transport our car to Surrey. Initially, our car was loaded onto their lorry, we were taken to their depot to collect a courtesy car. Matt the driver explained everything to us as to what was going to happen. He even selected a courtesy car that suited my height as I am tall. He even set up my sat nav on my phone as I had only ever used the car sat nav. Our car was delivered to our house the next day. Highfield kept us fully informed that it was on its way, an approximate arrival time but we would get another phone call when the driver was closer. This did happen & Barry turned up. Treated us with respect & great care for our car.
Both drivers & all the staff I spoke to on the phone were so helpful & polite. It was lovely to find people that actually enjoy their jobs.

We had Highfield garage attend our AA breakdown and I can’t recommend them enough the gentleman that came was called Mark W he was highly professional ,friendly and went above and beyond to help us and even sorted for our car to be towed to our named garage I can’t recommend them enough

I needed my car fixed with a very quick turn around. Highfield Garage was brilliant. They done all the work needed for a reasonable price and in amazing time. Would highly recommend this garage.

Friendly mechanic who was able to get me started very quickly. Bob was able to diagnose and also explain a few aspects of the situation to me.

Rip off, will come up with a fault with ur car and charge u a fortune, will fail MOTs and 3 other garages have passed it but apparently I need £600 worth of work done on my car

Recovery driver attended, he told me the car needed new spark plugs and advised he could get some and fit them, I agreed as he said it would fix the issue, he didn’t say it only might fix the problem, he fitted them, but didn’t test drive the car to see if the fault was fixed so when I went to drive home later in the day the car was still very much broken, so he lied and also didn’t even test drive the car to check the fault had been fixed. He didn’t fix the problem at all, so I was still stuck. Had I known it only may have fixed the problem I would have asked for the car to be towed to Vospers for them to diagnose and fix properly as this is what I ended up having to do anyway and the fault being fixed under warranty. Spark Plugs are not part of warranty so as Highfield said that’s what was wrong I agreed for them to be replaced.

I was in the early stages of working for this company as a recovery driver. I found that the control room operators will work you past your legal driving hours unless you say no. But you can guarantee as your shift gets closer to finishing they will send you on a longer run that takes you over your time. Driving into work one day I was involved in a road collision where a person hit the side of my car. I called the control room to be told that I had to get in to work as they had jobs planned for me. I informed them that I would be sorting out the accident, photos, insurance, recovery, new hire car as I lived some 15 miles away from Exeter. About half an hour later I had an e mail to say that my contract had been terminated immediately. At no stage in the telephone conversation did the controller ask if I was ok? The best move ever was that I had handed in my notice to leave a few weeks later before the termination. Within 3 hours I was recovered, and back on the road.

I had engine fault came up on my dashboard when driving with my grandsons. So l drove to the nearshore car park which was Budliegh Devon. Highfield Garage came to my rescue from AA and was very kind and helpful explained everything to me reset my car and l was made to feel very safe and reassured a very kind helpful man. Thank you very much

After breaking down on the M5 near Exeter with a mechanical failure which could not be readily fixed Highfield was delegated recovery by the RAC. This was after a long wait on the hard shoulder. As soon as the recovery was transferred they got in touch and a tow truck was despatched. The driver was very cheerful and helpful. They were unable to take us on our onward journey (as covered by the RAC )that day so lent us a car at their depot to carry on. The next day they delivered our car to our chosen garage on a truck and collected the loan car.
The whole service was excellent and enabled us to get to an important event. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful at all stages.
