Not for advanced users. The biggest problem with HMA (Hide My Ass) is false country locations / IPs. They claim and offer you to select an IP from many "exotic" countries, however these are all fake.... See more

No refunds, and a paypal scam???

Seemingly, their serial numbers do not work, you use Paypal and set up a dispute, and they then ask you to stop the dispute for a refund, this never happens? They take ages to reply, and the customer service is not what it used to be. Not happy at all!

Just what the "Doc" ordered.

Excellent protection with no effect on the speed of your internet connection. Easy to use. Gives you multiple server options. All around, it is just what you need to maintain your privacy online.

30 Day money back guarantee a con.

30 Day money back guarantee a con.. Had to recover money through paypal.. Used this VPN years ago and was always impressed but not any more.. Very sad when good companies get too big and loose their way.

WORST

I got this few days back. It had 30 day Free trial with money back guarantee. When I got it it asked me to pay the full price for the year. After two days of use I realized that I did not need it. I asked for cancellation. They said ok it will be canceled in a year. There is no way to cancel before the end of the trial period.

Disappointing, not recommend at all

Disappointing, not recommend at all.
The service used to be good but now there is only 6 streaming servers. None of them is working with Disney +
Android TV app is not allowing to connect on them as well.
When reporting the issue, custommer care just say you should try & retry. They’re not proposing reimbursment even if the service is not any more what you’ve paid for.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription

Ok, below is my original review. They took care of the problem and I am giving them a break as most businesses are still backlogged due to labor shortage. Their service is usually pretty good.

Original Post "I have been trying to cancel my automatic renewal prior to renewal and and get $12.89 refunded to my American Express card. I have sent 3 emails. They respond with ticket number, but no action."

I downloaded their app and then…

I downloaded their app and then cancelled the subscription within an hour. They have several days of free trial offer and obviously, I was eligible for a full refund as I cancelled within an hour. However, when I contacted them, they refused to refund my money! Such thieves! I then proceeded to file a dispute with PayPal and PayPal being another dacoits sided with the merchant

Hide My Ass customer service is crap

Hide My Ass used to be better. I've had an issue with 2 overlapping subscriptions after I renewed. However, this wasn't reflected in my desktop app, still says I have 2 weeks to renew. Tried to contact them to sort it out at least five or six times but each time the query was marked as answered although no one contacted me. I get the impression that they will take your money and couldn't be bothered with customer service. Time to check out an alternative VPN service that cares more.

Dont buy this they charge after you cancelled

Dont buy this at all it doesn't work well and support could care less. Glad PayPal is helping get my money they stole and my refund. Case number Your request (#1907144)
Charged me after i cancelled the subscription before the trial ended. And submitted a ticket to support to do so after it was stuck loading when i tried to cancel the subscription myself. This is shady i would stay clear from this one... :(

I would prefer to give 0 stars. I have never experienced such a poor service. I wrote them 4 tickets that I want my money back within the 30 days. This is advertised big on the website. They just do not answer me for days. On top of that, the VPN won't even download on my mac book. I wait for days for an answer. Maybe they are doing it on purpose to make the 30 days go around. I am very disappointed! Never experienced such a bad customer service

DONT SIGN UP FOR ANY 30-DAY FREE TRIAL!!!, THEY WILL BILL YOU FOR ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. No matter if you have cancelled you free trail the same days you signed up for it. You might get a hold of them (extremely slow support process time) to sort this out, but my strong feeling is they do this on purpose and hope you will just give up on any refund claims!

Stay away

Omg!! They charge you but don’t deliver. I signed up as I needed it urgently, but despite paying, it still kept on saying no active subscription when logging in. Scam. I ended up buying elsewhere. Regret ever giving my details out to this (at best) amateurish biz or (at worst) fraudulent scam show.

HMA - BUYER BEWARE OF THESE SHYSTERS

BUYER BEWARE OF THESE SHYSTERS! I just got ANOTHER notice from PayPal that I was charged "AGAIN" by HMA (for another year), so I logged back into HMA (after not being on them for over a year) to look at my account as I was certain that I had turned off AUTO RENEW last year. SURE ENOUGH, MY ACCOUNT SHOWED "AUTO RENEW - OFF"... yet, I am still being charged by them. I've now filed a complaint and request for a refund through PayPal, and I've turned off automatic payments to them at PayPal. Hopefully, PayPal will be successful in getting my refund. If not, shame on HMA VPN for doing this! NOTE: Any company that uses shady tricks like this in their business practice is not worth doing business with to begin with. I hope other people will learn from my mistake of signing up with them (DON'T DO IT!) If you do, it will take an "act of God" to stop them from charging your account even if you turn off their "AUTO RENEW" feature on their website. There are more complaints down below about them pulling this Auto Renew trick on their customers. I recommend that anyone considering signing up for their service first read those complaints also, and avoid these shysters!
