I have spent a small fortune at the local Harbor Freight store and joined Inside Track to be made aware of deals and discounts. I received notice of a deal today, so I went to the store to purchase... See more

Bad business exchange policy
I bought a floor jack and it was broke upon opening the box. When I returned it they had none in stock .
So the option are they will order me one in43 days or I can drive 45 minutes from my house to swap at another location. They would not transfer one from another store for me to pick.
Bought a volt meter
Bought a volt meter. Part of the digital readout stopped working. You see only part of the numbers. Told if I returned it I was in the computer and no receipt required. I guess their computer works as well as the volt meter because they couldn't find me. I live quite a distance from the store. Bought 3 items at different times and only 1 still works. No more Horrible Freight for me.

Staff was on top of my request in Gainesville from the phone call to having part , mower, ready to load in truck. Friendly staff loaded heavy mower in pouring rain in back of truck without hesitation. Love the Atlas mower and prices at Harbor Freight 💕
Buy a good quality generator for a good deal
Bought a generator from them last month they helped me load up the generator and I love it. Very happy with it and the battery and wheels were great.
Sales girl didn't bag my purchases
Sales girl didn't bag my purchases. She just stood there. I had arm full and trying to bag an item. I finally had to ask her to help me and she just looked at me!
Bad jump pack
What a jump pack from them used it twice paid almost $100. Charging plug bad on the back. Very bad design!! Awful Customer Service!! I have bought a lot from Harbor freight! Never again!!!
Beware!!

No WARRANTY.Took back a defective item 4 days after purchase . No HABOR FREIGHT WARRANTY.
My bag wasn't okay but every other one was?
I went to my local Harbor-Freight because they sent me a 25% off coupon and I needed some oil for a squeaky fan. I get there and I'm looking for the oils when a middle aged white dude with a salt a pepper beard, didn't see his name tag, informs me I need to leave my bag at the register " because it's corporate policy". I was not. I went to simply leave and literally walked into the item I needed so I went to the register to pay. One bad employee isn't keeping me from a needed item.
Very long line. Only one overworked young man at one out of four registers ,answering the phones too. In front of me is a couple with a purse,a tote bag and a bag from the fabric store three doors down. Nobody told them anything about this "corporate policy" apparently. Asking me to give my property to them is not legal. It's also not universal. Purses are okay, totes are okay, bags from other stores are okay. Hmmm. Sound a bit like singling out a customer because you think you can get away with it.
Maybe instead of hassling a paying customer the bearded employee should have opened a register so it wasn't backed up ten people deep. Not a pleasant place to shop. Won't do it again anytime soon.
I have good experiences
I have good experiences with all my HarborFreight tools, I had my last angle grinder 4”that stop working , but the customer service just asked when I bought and they changed for me with no complaints
Dangerous cheap products and terrible customer service
This sprayer i purchased uses plastic that is way too thin to hold the pressure that builds up in the tank. The plastic can give way and the contents will go everywhere including in your face and eyes. Even if you are wearing standard safety goggles the liquid will get behind them into your eyes. I reached out to harbor freight and have been completely disappointed with their response. In my opinion they don't care about customers and don't care if they sell a dangerous product. They did not show any action to make sure this doesn’t happen to another customer. All they did was ignore me for about 2 years every way they could. Ignoring my calls, emails etc. Just wasting my time and turning a customer into an x customer instead of making the issue right they just make it worse. It is a complete stupid move on the companies part because instead of me going around and telling everyone how great harbor freight made the situation right I will now forever go around and tell everyone how bad my experience was. Complete genius. You might think you are getting a great deal but saving $5 isn't worth getting injured because the company doesn't care about safety when manufacturing the product.
BAD PRODUCTS BAD SERVICE
Manager RENE had terrible disposition when returning a defective item with receipt. Absolutely hates his job and doesn't happily serve the customers who pay his salary - tools are garbage and so is the store. If you want to make money in the community treat the community with respect or go somewhere else and stop ripping people off!
They manufacture their tools in China, then you return it for being defective - they charge a restocking fee. If the item is defective it is not being restocked for sale since it is defective. HOWEVER, the fee covers the cost of building the item SCAM: sell you defective item (make profit), you return with receipt (they charge a restock fee that covers the manufacturing cost anyway), company profits on refunds. In my opinion - FOOD FOR THOUGHT! Stop making crooks rich!
I like harbor freight tools
I like harbor freight tools. It is a great place to shop when you need an otherwise inexpensive tool that you're only going to use once or twice. The only reason I decided to leave this review was because I saw their commercial and in it they continuously claim that they have high quality high performance tools. No, no they are not! Most of them are cheap crap, they have low prices though. If you're looking for a high quality tool that will last you a long time don't go to harbor freight tools. If you're looking for a tool or two to get you through a job or two then harbor freight is your store.
what a wast of money and time
got the part to repair the Fortress Ultra Quit air compressor model 57328. Bought this Sept 12, 2022 and the replacement part which cost $51.00. cost another 10.00 for a oil to loosen the bolt on the old switch and them a torch to heat up the plug on the old switch which cost $24.00 so the total replacement was $86.00 now the regulator is out which will cost me another $$$ and time to repair. I am going to Lowes to by a Craftsman for less money then I have spent so far at Harbor Freight
I purchased a Predator generator from…
I purchased a Predator generator from Harbor freight today. It won't start because it doesn't have enough oil in it!!!! They sell them that way! That unacceptable! Never again will I shop at Harbor Freight! That's ridiculous! Ive never heard of anyone selling a gas operated item without oil in it!
San Jose Blvd store #3111
I shopped at store #3111, San Jose Blvd, Mandarin/Jax, FL. I was serviced by Parker & Yari. First, store looked great, clean & well organized. Yari was on the register, but helped me beween customers. She called Parker to assist me to find my specfic product for my project. Parker was knowledgeable, friendly & made me feel comfortable, particularly since i had many questions until i got it. He was so patient. I'm a senior and he could have over sold on a more expensive item, but he didn't. Just the opposite which i really appreciated because my purchase will not ve used often so getting only what i needed was important to me. He did not take advantage of my ignorance when he easiky could have. That will be my go to store for tools, no question about it.
Lost Another Customer
I just went in to Harbor Freight and tried to use a coupon they sent me very recently. Apparently the coupon was only good for a couple days and they wouldn't honor it. It's too bad, Harbor Freight used to have good deals. Now, you can find higher quality items at better prices at your local big box retailers like Home Depot. Goodbye Harbor Freight. You've lost yet another customer.

Got a Credit Card I never used and Syncrony closed my Account for no reason , buy somewhere else
Put ‘‘em” on HOLD
Three months ago I purchased an orange tool box, but had to wait for the next months income to afford the roller chest under it. For three months I have travelled to five different locations that their web page says they have the item, but no stores ever have it. When I call they answer and immediately put me on hold to finish a transaction that never ends. After an hour I disconnect. It seems Harbor Freight only wants your money, NOT your business.

Though in good standing with my synchrony credit account, this group closed my account based on BS reports and stated I have to many open credit cards. I do have 4 capital on cc's, all for my business. I used this card as well for my business, until this happened. I'll NEVER step foot in another HF as long as I live. Not to mention it's all junk made from China anyway!
Harrassment
Today we experienced poor customer service to the point of bullying and harassment at the Harbor Freight Store in Santa Fe, NM, a store that we have enjoyed shopping at for quite some time. After shopping and filling our basket with a number of items - over $200 worth, my 77 year old husband needed the bathroom. As it is locked with a code, he went to the front desk and asked to have it opened. The cashier, who we later found out was the manager, mumbled something and my husband went back to wait. After a couple of minutes with no help, he called out ‘Bathroom”, as there was an urgent need and he did not want to walk back up front. An older man who has had prostate cancer with radiology can need the bathroom on an urgent basis.
After calling out a second time and then a third time, the IPS security guard, Sellers, walked slowly down the center aisle toward the restroom then turned on a cross aisle before going back there. I was in the line to pay and my husband was at the restroom - we both saw him heading to the restroom. I could not see that he turned away before going to assist my husband, so I thought things were taken care of… Then I heard him calling out again. Another customer went to check and I heard him tell another that “the guy is just waiting to get into the bathroom”. IPS came back and went to the restroom, unlocked the door and told my husband to leave the store for yelling.
My husband asked to speak to the manager. She refused to talk to him and told him there was a sign at the entrance about no yelling. The manager refused to give her name and tried to check people out with her hand over her id badge. While standing there, my husband was told to leave the store by the IPS man, at which point he put on his leather gloves and put his belly against my husband and was nudging him. He then stepped back and radioed someone. By this time, I was up to the desk to pay and told them I had all the name badges on the video that I filmed. My husband stayed with me so he could pay for the goods, and then we left.
There was no sign about no yelling - I checked on the way out and took a picture of the entrance signage.
I realize that there is a homeless problem and a theft problem in Santa Fe and many places have locks on bathrooms. NEVER have we had an issue with getting into one. The employee either immediately opens the door or give us the code or the key.
Had the IPS guy just gone back on his first pass and opened the door, despite it taking a 4 or 5 minutes for him to get there, there would have been no problem. Or an employee could have opened the door - I am not sure what the policy is for getting a bathroom door opened there.
Customer Service from Harbor Freight and IPS rate a zero. I guess we should stick with Home Depot and Lowes who do not have locks on their bathrooms.
