Excellent company, took in Toyota Yaris Hybrid for a free battery check. Had a free coffee while I waited for 30 minutes. Engineer reported the battery was fine, just needed a full charge. If any problems arise in the future, to return for maybe a replacement battery. Member of staff showed me back to my vehicle

Undisclosed poor-quality repairs, ignored by management, matter being referred to Ombudsman
My daughter purchased a Mercedes-Benz Approved Used vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Hertford (operated by Group 1 Automotive). Shortly after purchase, we discovered extensive, poor-quality paintwork and fitment issues at the rear of the vehicle that were not disclosed before the sale.
The rear bumper has a visibly mottled, rough finish and a noticeable colour mismatch. It was also not clipped in correctly, causing uneven gaps around the boot and light fitting. An independent inspection confirmed that the left-hand side had been resprayed very poorly. How these sub-standard body repairs were ever deemed acceptable on a car sold under the Mercedes-Benz Approved Used scheme is shocking.
We legally rejected the vehicle shortly after purchase, but Mercedes Hertford refused to provide a refund. We have repeatedly requested the Approved Used inspection and preparation documents to see how this vehicle supposedly met Mercedes-Benz standards. These have still not been provided, and our requests are being ignored.
We have contacted the dealership, senior management, Mercedes-Benz Customer Advocacy, and Group 1’s dedicated complaints department. Our final correspondence gave them a clear deadline to respond. That deadline has passed, and we have been completely ignored. I fully expect a generic response beneath this review asking me to contact their complaints department. To be absolutely clear: we have already done that repeatedly, and your complaints department has ignored us. Asking us publicly to contact a department that refuses to respond privately is a PR tactic, not a resolution.
I strongly advise prospective buyers to read the other one-star reviews on Google. Since this dispute began, I have seen several reviews describing worryingly similar experiences involving previously resprayed or repaired vehicles, undisclosed defects, refused refund requests, and customers struggling to obtain any response.
When the car was briefly left with them a week after purchase for other issues, it was also returned with new scratches. I was promised a phone call from Lee Taylor the next morning; unsurprisingly, he never called.
The matter is now being formally referred to The Motor Ombudsman. This has been an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. Once they have your money, they simply do not care. How Mercedes-Benz head office allows this branch to damage their brand reputation like this is baffling, and Group 1 head office complaints department ignoring a dispute of this seriousness is even worse.

Appalling, when I had to investigate a problem, (Warrenty item satisfactorily carried out at same time) I had to wait over 45mins to get my key back!!!
The agent said parts would be needed and she would phone me same day and confirm next day by email when the work could be carried out. Neither happened!! Around 3 months later I had a call to say the parts were in, unbelievable. They had also not carried out a recall item which was included in the booking. As I had not heard I contacted Mercedes Bedford who rectified the problem by means of a software update ( No parts needed), and arranged the recall item which was again carried out, without delay. This is not the first problem I have had with this dealership and consequently travel some distance for another dealership to deal with any problems.

Great team, welcoming, polite and knowledgeable. A nice and clean facility...
JLRs £299 diagnostics test is way too expensive and surely should be part of the vehicle health check. As the engine light illuminated and I, or they, have no idea why. They still let it be driven home after the recall work was done, which I thought showed a lack of care as they didn't know why the engine light was on and quoted me £299 to run a quick test.
A JLR repair garage say they will diagnose it for free, if the car makes it there. 🤨

I am writing this review to publicly log my absolute disgust at how Group 1 Jaguar Watford has handled my 2021 Jaguar F-Pace PHEV.My vehicle was recovered to their site following an electrical breakdown. It took them an unacceptable 30 days to return my property. Throughout this entire month, communication was non-existent. I was charged £864 for a baseline diagnostic that yielded no new information, followed by a demand for £2,129 to repair a High-Voltage Coolant Heater (HVCH) failure—a widely documented, inherent manufacturing defect across 2021 JLR plug-in hybrid models. The dealership completely refused to pause billing or assist in submitting a Manufacturer Goodwill Request to JLR Corporate. Furthermore, they refused to provide an official, uncropped JLR TOPIx/Pathfinder diagnostic report PDF matching my 17-digit VIN to verify the legitimacy of their work, sending a cropped, unidentifiable snippet instead. To recover my personal property, I was forced to pay the total sum under severe financial duress and formal protest. When I raised a formal complaint, the original manager (Kevin) requested a 7-day investigation window, which they completely blew past. The case was then dumped onto the Aftersales Manager (Anthony), who set a fake impression of taking ownership, missed the final response deadline last Friday, and has now entered total radio silence. This dealership operates in complete bad faith and directly breaches the Motor Ombudsman's Service and Repair Code. Internal discussions are now closed. I have officially launched a Section 75 claim with my credit card provider to recover my funds due to breach of contract and duress, and a formal case has been submitted to the Motor Ombudsman. Avoid this branch at all costs.
Will I ever buy JLR after receiving such a horrible service for vehicles costing close to £100k?

Don't bother making a complaint to Group1 Automotive as from my experience no one will respond to it.
On January 29th I dropped my car off at my local Audi dealership in Macclesfield for an issue with the rear brakes.
In short the work done did not make any difference. After a meeting with the After Sales Manager he agreed to refund 50% of the cost.
However, after 2 MONTHS of calls/emails I still had not received the refund.
So I made an official complaint to Group1. Case Reference CP063777 on April 29th.
After a week I had received no response, so I called and was told I would be contacted within 14 days.
Now after 76 days, I am STILL waiting.....NO RESPONSE
So I resorted to writing a TrustPilot Review of Group1.
On June 18th I received a reply from them regarding my review to say…..” This is not the level of service we aim to provide. We appreciate your patience, and we will ensure this is escalated immediately so we can resolve the matter.”
And what contact have I received in the intervening
4 WEEKS ?
NOTHING AT ALL.........ZERO RESPONSE
Why do Group1 treat their customers with such complete indifference ?
I have kept all of the email discussions regarding the
refund, so PLEASE contact me Group1
I AM NOT GIVING UP ON THIS....

Beware they will sometimes scam you.
I have reserved a Mercedes S class at Leicester branch and paid for 200£. It was reserved for 48h. They tried it o get another 300£ telling me that is going to secure the car for good and remove it off sale. I haven’t paid because I wanted to see it in person and also to have full history at hand but the next day they sent me an email saying “now car has been sold, thank you for your time” - imagine and not mentioning anything about the reservation fee.
Not 2-3 weeks money stuck with low chances of getting them back, BEWARE!!
Disclaimer- if you want this review deleted or altered pay me back my money !!

Once again Mercedes of Peterborough have let me down. After 12 months of complaints to Mercedes, I've officially rejected the current vehicle but now I've been told that I have to pay the agreed deposit on the new vehicle even though you have my current vehicle in your service workshop for a week.
As far as I can see, you are only interested in money and not the customer.
I am seriously considering legal action against Mercedes of Peterborough.

Beyond the terrible communications, absolute lack of care about customers time, a tracking app that doesn't work, the car getting some substance over the front that now needs sorting, other customers arguing with the service team, the phone repeatedly not getting answered, I'd say its run really well!! This is after four visits in two weeks, so not isolated. Absolute chaos and a management team that either doesn't care, is incompetent or both

🚨 WARNING TO ALL MERCEDES BUYERS
🚨 WARNING TO ALL MERCEDES BUYERS – ESPECIALLY EQA OWNERS! DISGRACEFUL SERVICE FROM MERCEDES-BENZ WARRINGTON/MBFS🚨
I never thought I’d be writing this abMercedes-Benz brand like Mercedes-Benz, but after what we’ve been through, I refuse to stay silent. I’ve been mis-sold a brand new car, left dangerously out of pocket, and treated with total disregard by Mercedes-Benz Warrington. This is completely unacceptable.
In September 2023 I purchased a brand new Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+. When I bought it, I was assured it would deliver 324 miles on a good day or 290 miles on a bad day. Just 10 days later we were only getting 160 miles on a full charge.
We immediately returned it to Mercedes-Benz Warrington. They kept it for two weeks, claimed to have fixed two faults, and told us to “see how we get on” – even suggesting they would help us reject the vehicle if the problems continued.
The problems did continue. The brakes were not working properly and the screen would randomly go blank. When we contacted them again to reject the car, things went from bad to worse.
When we collected the car from Warrington, we discovered personal shopping and receipts left in the boot. It was obvious the car had been used for their own personal use while it was supposed to be in for repairs. How is this even allowed?
After multiple failed attempts to reject this faulty vehicle, we then received a letter saying the car needed a software update because of the risk of it setting on fire. We had that done.
A few weeks ago we received yet another letter admitting the software update didn’t work. They now instruct us:
• Do NOT charge the car above 80%
• Do NOT park the car near our home due to the heightened risk of fire
• A brand new battery is required
Yet weeks (now months) later, we still have no date for this critical work to be carried out.
I am now left with a brand new Mercedes that is a potential fire hazard, doesn’t deliver anywhere near the advertised range, has ongoing faults, and has been used by the dealership for their own personal errands. This is disgraceful conduct from a company that claims to represent luxury and quality.
Mercedes-Benz Warrington – you should be absolutely ashamed of how you’ve treated a customer who trusted your brand.
I will not stand for this. I’m out of pocket for a vehicle that is not fit for purpose and was clearly mis-sold. If you’re considering buying a Mercedes, especially an EQA, think twice. This could be you next.
Please share this post far and wide – maximum exposure is needed so other customers are warned and Mercedes are held accountable.
Bought for over £55,000 and 2.5 years later it’s now worth £18,000 meaning we would need to pay £18,000 just to walk away from this vehicle!

UPDATE: my car breaks failed whilst coming off the motorway!!! The car was with @mercedesbenzwarrington to be told “hopefully the issue is now resolved and handed the car back!!!! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO REJECT THIS AWFUL DANGEROUS CAR!!!!!
