★☆☆☆☆ 1/5 — Extremely Disappointing Experience with Gradex Consulting
My experience with Gradex Consulting has been extremely frustrating and disappointing, particularly regarding the final grading of my newly built home.
After the final grading inspection failed, I contacted Gradex several times to find out when the deficiencies would be corrected. Unfortunately, their receptionist repeatedly told me they were still waiting for the City of Edmonton inspector and could not provide an inspection date.
Based on the information I was given, I contacted the City directly, only to discover that the inspection had already taken place and the grading had failed. This misinformation caused unnecessary confusion and complications between me, my homebuilder, Homes by Avi, and the City.
To make matters worse, I visited Gradex’s office in person to inquire about the failed inspection and the timeline for corrective work, yet I still could not get a clear answer.
As a homeowner, I expect a company responsible for such an important part of a new home to communicate accurately, take responsibility, and provide clear timelines for resolving deficiencies.
Instead, I have spent considerable time making phone calls, sending emails, and trying to obtain information that should have been communicated properly from the beginning.
My biggest disappointment is not simply that the grading failed, but the poor communication, conflicting information, and lack of transparency throughout the process.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Gradex Consulting. I hope the company improves its customer communication, accountability, and handling of failed inspections so other homeowners do not have to go through the same frustrating experience.
