Goodwins installed an EV charger. The whole process from start to finish was carried out very efficiently, from estimate to installation and invoicing. Turned up on time (on a Sunday) and carried out the work. Highly recommended

Work completed efficiently
The electrician arrived on time, completed the work efficiently and gave us very full information about using the new smoke alarm and its care. All was left very tidy. I would use Goodwin Electrical if we need an electrician in future.

Professional and a pleasure to deal with
Very professional and a pleasure for us to deal with Bill and his team. We initially called him after viewing his impressive web site. He corrected faults in the existing electrical installation in our new home in accordance with current regulations and subsequently provided full NICEIC certification. We were fully informed at all stages of the works. He always kept appointments on time. Have requested him to carry out additional electrical works.

Thank you for the review. We are registered with NICEIC, which trusted traders and trading standards to give customers up front confidence in the service we can provide. We are passionate about our work and show attention to detail making sure customers are fully happy with our work.
On this job we was presented with what looked like a valid electrical certificate which the customers were given when they purchased the property, however after checking it, I would out the certificate should never have passed.
A lesson to learn from this is to get your own electrical certificate and gas certificate when purchasing a property to make sure your valuable investment is safe to live in.
Highly Recommended
I would recommend Goodwin Electrical to anyone. From my initial inquiry to the work being completed the whole process was without doubt a pleasure.
Unusually nowadays, Bill arrived precisely at the time arranged !
The work was carried out very professionally and no mess left when he left.

Carried out Pat Testing at short notice. This is a fantastic business who sell and service motorcycles. They also have a fabulous cafe with good food and excellent service.
Goodwin Electrical - Totally trustworthy and dependable
We had a fault with our solar panels and the original installers were not interested as they no longer installed solar panels. I tried several companies and none actually got back to us until I was fortunate enough to contact Goodwin Electrical. I spoke to Bill Goodwin and he came out later that evening to assess the work.
Bill was polite and came over as very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He immediately saw problems with our installation in that AC isolators had been installed where there should be DC isolators and vice versa. The issue of loss of generation needed further exploration. Bill sent us a quote within 24 hrs which we were happy with and a date was arranged for investigation and completion of work.
Bill arrived on time and was very thorough and efficient, finding the fault to be a short circuit at an electrical connection under one of the solar panels. The system is now up and running again and generating its correct amount of electricity.
I cannot speak highly enough of Bill and his son who make up Goodwin Electrical. They are totally dependable and trustworthy, good at their work, polite and tidy workers. I will look no further in the future if we need any electrical work doing.

We put right what another solar company did badly wrong which could have been a disaster. During the solar gold rush many companies jumped on the wagon and rushed the solar jobs and used electricians who did not fully understand the difference between DC and AC solar equipment.
We at Goodwin Electrical are professional electricians with in depth knowledge of all types of Solar PV systems. I personally have worked on over 400 Solar PV systems.
There are many faults found on Solar PV systems, we always manage to find the fault and in over 50% of cases it was due to a poor installation carried out by Solar PV cowboy companies who no longer exist.
You can be assured we will be around in the future to look after all your electrical needs.

Friendly and professional service. After I've bought my first property Bil helped me to extend and make my electrical installation safe. Very helpful and patient even after I have changed my plans a few times. He always kept me informed and up-to-date with cost and progress. Would definitely recommend this family business.

Thank you Pawel. We have very good knowledge with Electrics when it comes to buying and selling properties. This property is being totally renovated by the customer and we enabled to make the property safe with a new fuse board, USB double sockets and check all cables. We also gave free advice about other aspects of the property and understood the customers budget.

Great service and helpful workmen.

This was a new fuse board, extra sockets and full electrical check of the property. We work well with vulnerable people and keep them informed every step of the way what we are doing and make sure they are comfortable before isolating electrics to carry out work. We are registered with Trading Standards buy with confidence and the vulnerable person scheme run by Devon and Cornwall Police.

Thank you Alan. We were called to investigate tripping faults on two circuits. We worked over several hours to undo work carried out by an electrician on an insurance claim. We identified the tripping faults and rectified the problems. Then restoring the circuits back to their full potential.

This was a change in use for the premises so we carried out the research to bring the property up to a standard to meet the local authorities requirements and give Daniel what he needed to make sure he had a smooth running Cafe with easy access to sockets, lighting, cooker points etc.
We installed LED lighting and several light pendants with LED lamps, this makes a big difference with keeping bills down when using energy efficient LED lighting, a must for any business.
