Slick sales, poor delivery.

We are Property Developers at Wynne Davies Developments Ltd. We had a flat roof project to build two Penthouse flats on a flat roof on a block in Kensington. The project involved the Penthouses being built in a modular format offsite and craned into position. Though Go Modular built the unit frames, they were subcontractors by the main contractors.

To summarise the endeavour, Go Modular, who were introduced by a trusted third party, behaved appallingly almost from the beginning.

They used the fact that they had possession of the modules in their warehouse to leverage their position and demand more and more money whilst apparently doing less and less work. Claiming that they were not builders but manufacturers, they kept demanding increasing amounts of money in advance with no apparent change to the modules. This gangster like behaviour put us in an impossible position on a tight time frame.

Finally, we had to call time on the madness. Our main contractors organised for the modules, or what modules they were, to be picked up, to be trucked and to be lifted onto the building in Kensington. A process, that Go Modular had already amply been paid for. Our contractors then proceeded to finish the modules on site and delivered the project as advertised and at a considerable loss - approx. £600,000).
Our contractors took Go Modular to arbitration and won. They then took them to court and won. Shortly after, Go Modular were put into bankruptcy. These comments are obviously relating to the previous (pre-bankruptcy) version of the company, though the same people seem to be at the helm of the new entity.

It is further curious that the new entity are using our photographs and videos on their site (without permission) to give the impression that they delivered on our project – they did not.
