Absolutely disgusting service
Absolutely disgusting service. This company is a scam and one of many scams that a lot of the tourist centric shops in italy seem to accept day to day. Go to a real post office. Don't accept the 'is this going to the uk' chat. I have 3 cards. I sent them in September. It's now mid January and they are 'ready to be sorted' according to the tracking.
An absolute scam AVOID
I so wish I had seen these reviews before I purchased stamps for postcards in Florence. So frustrating that the shop didn’t give us an option as to what stamps to buy.
Six weeks on and the cards are still “almost ready to be sorted by the distribution hub”
This should never be allowed to be…
This should never be allowed to be sold. What a disappointment. We did not realized that These were special stamps and they do not work at all. 6 purchased and written postcards wasted for nothing
Overpriced and unreliable
Overpriced stamps and the post cards weren't even on their way after 2 weeks. Don't use this service
Most horrible vacation experience of my life
I got scammed by GNP/GPS on my last trip to Venice. When walking by a tabaccheria I noticed a sign that offered postcards including stamps. With great anticipation, I thought this would make a fantastic surprise for my family at home, not knowing that this choice would completely ruin my vacation in the end.
Without any further information, I was handed a paper bag with fancy looking stamps. However, the bag had printed on a strange note saying I was only allowed to put them in orange instead of red mail boxes. Luckily, I read the information before putting my postcards into the red box right in front the store where ironically I had just bought the stamps. During the following evening, I came to the realization that there is not a single orange post box in the entire city of Venice. Moreover, the provided locations on GNP‘s website were all wrong and the QR codes on the stamps not scannable. I spent the rest of my evening desperately searching for one of the orange boxes without any success before I finally had to board my train back home.
Note: I just saw that GNP always replies to bad ratings here in a standardized manner and asks you to contact their customer service. Please do not let yourself be fooled by this since the customer service is not helpful in any way. After having been promised a refund, I got insulted for the numerous negative reviews of other aggrieved customers and even indirectly was made fun of for not using the official Italian Postal Service, not to mention that my refund was completely denied in the end. Do not waste your time and energy on expecting any kind of help from this dubious and incredibly rude company.
Less than ⭐
I bought the cards and stamps from a tobacconist in Montepulciano. I wrote them out to send but then I ran into the same problem as many others - where to find an orange mailbox. I found their customers on the GPS website and yesterday in Perugia asked for advice from a tobacconist. The guy said with amusement that they haven't cooperated for a while. I don't feel like looking for orange mailboxes or advice on sending cards anymore. So I'll drop the cards myself into my friends' mailboxes, so they'll get beautiful cards from Italy and be delighted.
Posted a postcard 3 weeks ago
Posted a postcard 3 weeks ago. Still not arrived. Seems like a scam.
Don't use Globe postal service with its orange boxes
Never heard of these until I bought postcards in kiosk outside Milan Central Station. It was after ordinary post office hours so was glad to get the offer of stamps for the cards - not realising that a private service would be so far behind any ordinary postal service. The cards still have not arrived whereas cards posted the same day (in the morning by ordinary Italian post) arrived in UK and Ireland. The globe site keeps telling me the cards are nearly ready for distribution!!!!!!! Better to send a text than use that service.
So far completely dissatisfied
So far completely dissatisfied.
First of all I just wanted to buy regular stamps. The place in Pisa where I bought these alternative stamps did not mention to me that these are different. As we were just passing through Pisa, I only wrote the postcards later when we were back in Bologna. When I saw these were different stamps than the normal ones I tried to find out where I could post them: No boxes to post them from in all of Bologna. Luckily we were travelling by train through Milan soon afterwards and I saw a box in on the map inside the station. However, even though i asked in several shops, I couldn’t find said box. In the end I went looking for one I saw on the map outside the station. Turns out they are tiny orange boxes where anyone could take stuff out as well. No postal security at all.
Now it’s been nearly three weeks and my postcards are still showing as on the way to the sorting hub. I have zero faith in them ever arriving.
scam
Was sold these stamps at an Italian Tabac (didn’t realise they weren’t normal stamps). Had to go back to same Tabac to post. What a pain
Two weeks later, postcards still have status ‘on the way to sorting hub’. Having read reviews now I’m disgusted this still exists.
Lousy service and completely…
Lousy service and completely unacceptable. We had to drive an extra 30 minutes by car to the ONLY postcard far and wide. Completely false promise of service. Definitely a rip-off.
GPN stamps and post boxes
I bought postcards and the GPN stamps from a souvenir shop in the Valley of the Temples, Sicily. There was a post box there but I hadn't written on the postcards so took them to write later. I looked for the correct orange postbox for about a week but no luck. I even asked for help in a Post Office but they hadn't heard of GPN so I ended up buying the PO stamps to cover the GPN stamps. So beware of this scam!
Avoid!
This is a scam or some kind of money laundry. How do they not go bust?! I should have checked the reviews online, but the cashier told me they have post stamps and I didn't have time. I bet they just dump their mail to a bin and move on. Avoid this!
Needless to say, postcards never arrived.
10 weeks and 0/8 recieved
Total scam. We sent a total of 8 post cards from locations in Rome, Naples, Florence and Venice.
That was 10 weeks ago and NOTHING. 0 of 8 posrcards recieved.
All of the postcards tracking info now say the same thing "Your postcard is on the way to the recipient!"
Which I guess is some progress considering they said "On its way to the sorting hub" for like 6 week.
it's a scam
it's a scam - the postcard never arrives, the qr code tracking is fake. I've sent 2 postcards, none of those ever arrived!
fees were paid at time of pickup
fees were paid at time of pickup, now wanting 600 insurance fee for delivery. payable by cashapp. total scam.
Avoid this service if you care about your mail.
I would caution against using this service. It is not only expensive but also disappointingly slow and unreliable. Despite three weeks having passed since depositing postcards into the mailbox in Pisa, I am still awaiting their delivery in Europe.
Don't even think about sending a postcard from Italy
Almost all the official postboxes in Italy have been taken out of use. I had hoped that there might be one still working at Milan Airport. I asked at a shop there if they sold stamps. They said they did; like a fool, I paid before I asked where there was a postbox. 'Oh we can send them for you.' I smelt a rat but it was too late. This was early October, and to be fair the two elderly relatives did get their postcards: on Christmas Eve!
Poor tracking & denial of responsibility when package lost
A package mailed by them never arrived. They denied all responsibility, claiming that once they pass it on to the next shipper ( in this case Canada Post ) they stop tracking. Canada Post claim that they do not get a tracking number from Global Post and just deliver to the addresses on the box ...Needless to say I will never use them again.
I recommend using a reliable company like UPS or Fedex that tracks packages from sender all the way to receiver !
