Xgate from Global Marine Networks - a nightmare experience!
My experience with Global Marine Networks has been very disappointing to say the least. Despite their shiny website there is only chaos and incompetence to be found behind the scenes. I had ordered a month subscription for their Xgate service, which would allow us to access emails on our computer via our satellite phone. While the product eventually worked (after repeated calls with the hotline) and the interface is still kind of experimental, the real problems started afterwards. Despite repeated cancellations on my side, GMN keeps auto-renewing services that I do not want and they keep billing my credit card to the point that I have now asked my credit card provider to permanently block any bookings from their side. I have written GMN so many times I cannot count it anymore - and mostly to get no reply. In summary: the product idea is nice, the implementation not convincing and the service/billing a NIGHTMARE! Keep away from business with this company!
