I was told I needed a new SIM at the end of July as the old one would not work from 1 August. New SIM 2 weeks late and only sent after prompting. New SIM worked 15 minutes over 2 days and not since. Been emailing every day for 2 weeks...........no response!

I thought SKY was bad but these guys take the biscuit!

Don't rely on GlobalGig

Don't rely on GlobalGig, have a backup plan. After using GlobalGig through many parts of Europe over a month, the experience was mixed at best. At no stage could we run a hotspot from our iPhone6 so we reverted back to hotel/airport/train wifi for our PC. Next to useless messages included "contact the local (in country) telco". In Lyon (2nd largest city In France) we could get no signal at all. Contact with GlobalGig Australia was extra difficult due to the time difference and weekends.
Picking up a Vodafone (Europe wide) SIM was super easy and about 1/4 the price of GlobalGig.

I've used Globalgig for 2 years across many countries

I have used Globalgig the past two years across many countries - UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Czech, Austria, Hungary, Spain, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Australia and New Zealand.

It works anywhere that there is normal cell phone service/reception (so it won't work if you're in the mountains where there is no cell reception etc).

I have found it to be very reliable, fast to connect, and just so incredibly handy and comforting to have with me in my bag at all times while travelling in foreign/new places.

Also, the staff have been friendly and very helpful in any interaction I've had with them.

I would highly recommend using Globalgig if you want easy and reliable data on your travels! I'll be using my device on my next trip to Japan soon!

Unaccountable

further dealings with global gig who can charge willy nilly without explanation or reply to emails. These are truly the worst company i have come across. The £50 spend cap can be increased but not decreased, they will not provide breakdowns of usage, the last three warning emails all arrived at the same time and in thee wrong order (50%,100%,85%) and exactly at the same time as a 4th email advising of the latest over usage charge. At the time i was reading emails so not sure how i went over or how i went over that quickly that all four emails arrived at the same time. I could go on AVOID unless you have more money than sense.

My Globalgig mobile broadband is amazing

My Globalgig mobile broadband gadget is amazing. Recently I used it throughout North America in places I could not get reliable 3G internet on my iPhone.
In particular, my iPhone plan in Canada was poor so my Globalgig device came to the rescue like a trusty friend. Well done Globalgig. We love this product.

This is a life saver

This is a life saver. I’m young and I’ve been doing a lots of traveling which I know from the past is super limiting when it comes to WiFi and access to helpful apps. Traveling with this in my pocket prevent lost time in exploring. It has great reception as long as you a in range of a town or city. In the middle of Canadian forestry it’s a little hit and miss but picks up close to the towns. I wouldn’t leave NZ without it! Recommend it to everyone I know who travels.

MYFI IS A KEEPER

I really liked how fast this hot spot booted up and it worked great in NJ by the shore where some hot spot didn't work. It's small and easy to carry and last a while on a charge.

Sort your website out before launching

For a brand which suggests online, global and modern, their web service is terrible. They've changed branding since I've been with them and their new web service doesn't let me reset my password so I can't log in... but they still expect to be paid.

Appalling service of globalgig.

I used globalgig whilst in France. I thought the plan cost £22.99 but on the bill they added vat so it was 27.99. I couldn't access my usage and found getting information from the website difficult. I finally discovered how to cancel but was too late and now owe another month. Almost £50 for a month and no idea if I used my data or not! Now I have cancelled but can't delete my card from the account. I have told them that I think their business model is rubbish and that I shan't be recommending them. Now I don't know if I can access data I have paid for. Susan Mahon

Poor service

I have been using GlobalGig for years and used it as a backup device.
Recently, the CC I used expired whitout my knowledge, I did not check and they suspended my acccount. So when I tried to use the service abroad, It did not work.
There was no communication and they continued for months to send a statement that showed payment, so I was thinking the service was continuing.
I called the support desk which was utterly useless and not ready to help.
So I do not rate them highly. When everything is fine, OK, but when you have a problem, completely useless.
Not GOOD !

Don;t waste your money and time

I could not reach to anyone via phone or email for two days and finally I quitted. It was two days before my trip and I wanted to check if the card was active or not. I was in the middle to my trip when finally I received an email from them. They send you several printed paged about how to activate your account but nothing works as explained. Their websire pretty much does nothing and anyway you have to call several times to finally be able to activate your line. The plan is also expensive. I paid 40 euros in UK and purchased one month unlimited plan across Europe. Also, remember the plan is rolling plan and they will keep charging you if you don't cancel.

What a joke of a company

As long as you NEVER have to resolve an issue over the phone, change your plan or generally have anything to do with them you'll be right. Internet service is fine but don't trust them direct debiting your account!!
