Smooth booking, great show
After I googled for activities to do in the Gion district in Kyoto, an hour with a Geiko by Get your Guide popped up. Ordering tickets was super easy and the company sent reminder notifications along with a WhatsApp message containing g all important information. Everything went smoothly, from ordering tickets to watching the show and everything in between. The guidecassigned to us, Itsuki Tsuji was very helpful and did an awesome job translating.

cancellation
I purchased a tour of the Royal Palace in Madrid more than 30 days ago. Payment was made, but to my surprise, Get Your Guide canceled my tour the day before. This is absurd and disrespectful.

Inaccurate trip descriptions!
Very easy to book which is great and lots of options to choose from. Unfortunately I think a lot of the information is out of date and the excursion descriptions are inaccurate. Two of our three trips from Dubrovnik were not as advertised, briefly, our cocktail cruise left from a different port and our Montenegro trip was blighted by long customs processes. None of this was explained or updated before the trip. The company needs to get on top of what is going on and actually pay attention to what they are selling.

From Naples with love
We planned a trip to Naples almost two years ago. We already knew we wanted some new experiences and booked three activities via GetYourGuide. Take Peru tour reservations then cancel later
I booked a tour within Peru that showed as available, and I paid in full. Then I booked non-refundable airline tickets around this. 9 days later GYG contacted me telling me to cancel and get a refund because they couldn't get tickets and permits to do the tour. The problem is that when you take a reservation before first determining actual availability, people incur non refundable expenses and build an itinerary around that.

I booked and paid for a tour in Santa Cruz, Tenerife back in July for April 22 and received a confirmation number. As the date got closer, I heard nothing. Three days before the tour, I emailed multiple times to confirm—no response. I even tried calling the local provider (Gloma Travel)—no answer.
Then at 11 PM the night before, I was told the tour was canceled because the guide was sick.
I understand emergencies happen—but the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. No advance notice, no response to my emails, and no chance to rebook something else. This ruined my plans for the day.
GetYourGuide failed completely on customer service and responsibility. A refund doesn’t fix poor handling like this.
I will not use GetYourGuide again—and I strongly recommend using a more responsive company instead.

They make organising trips so easy
They make organising trips so easy. When we visit a new location, the first place I look is Get Your Guide to see what's on and book it. The information is very clear, with reminders and directions to the event. There are excursions for every budget and every taste. In case of any kind of dificulties their response is very quick and helpful.

The Get your Guide App was so easy to use and the tours it recommended were spot on. I would definitely use it again when travelling.
Disappointing Lisbon Tuk Tuk Tour
We were very dissatisfied with our tuk tuk tour around Lisbon.
We booked a 2 hour tour with Getyourguide as we have used them before and always had a great tour with a passionate local. This tour was far from this.
Our main issue is that the guide remained silent during the tour apart from a few facts about the dates of a couple of buildings. Not being local is not too much of a problem for us but the guide needs to be passionate about the city and provide anecdotes and information that may not be in all the guide books.
He also played very inappropriate music very loudly.
The last complaint is that we paid for 2 hour tour - it finished after 90 minutes.
Definitely not good value at all.
I also tried to inform you of all this by email and never received any response !

I can no longer book through GetYourGuide with any confidence. I recently discovered that if a tour operator cancels on you last minute—even under false pretences—GYG does not allow you to leave a review. By blocking feedback on cancelled trips, GYG is curating a false reality where only positive experiences are visible, removing any deterrent for unreliable operators.
In my case, a tour operator cancelled my tour citing "roadworks," which I proved to be false as I took a different tour to the same area that same day. The reality is likely that they cancelled because I was the only person booked.
In emails with GYG customer services, where I provided proof and they acknowledging this false force majeure, they still stated: they will not provide updates on any investigation, offered no good-will voucher for the 4x price difference I had to pay for a last-minute replacement tour, and confirmed I am prohibited from leaving a review to warn others. Therefore, I am taking my business elsewhere

Easy to use and trustworthy
I have used GetYourGuide for booking excursions and overall had a very positive experience. I participated in one tour in Tunisia and also canceled another booking. In both cases, everything worked smoothly. The booking process, payment, and communication with the tour provider were all seamless, and the excursion itself was excellent. The cancellation process was just as efficient—the refund was issued already on the next working day, which was very impressive.
From a usability perspective, there are a few areas that could be improved. There are many tours with very similar descriptions, which can make choosing between them somewhat confusing. Additionally, the price shown on the initial listing did not always match the final price, as it only became clear after selecting the pickup location. Comparing different tours is also not very straightforward.
That said, I was ultimately able to make a good choice and was satisfied with the experience overall. I would definitely use GetYourGuide again.
