7 days ago I tried to book a trip in Rome which several people in our party had already booked. My card payment was accepted but I got a message from GYG stating there was a problem possibly due to poor internet connection and I would get a refund and to rebook if I didn’t receive confirmation and a booking reference. I left it a while and received nothing so booked again ….same problem. I had also tried to use a discount code they gave me a month ago after a trip elsewhere, but this proved invalid. There was no contact number for a complaint, I found a live AI chat in the app but it took ages for it to understand the problem, eventually referring it to a ‘higher level’ who would respond by email within 2-3 days. Despite me urging this I have heard nothing. Shocking customer service

Cancelled late the night before without justification
They are a booking agency not a tour or guide company. After a positive experience, we booked and paid for an all day private guided tour through them over a month in advance. At 9pm the night before our early morning pickup they cancelled because “the operator didn’t have enough participants.” WT… it was just us. Never again.

Holiday Inn in Egypt we used to get my guide for a visit from Hurghada to Luxor for the visit to the valley of the Kings trip on the Niles museum had a bad time but was quite an uncomfortable ride on the mini bus of duration of four hours each week wouldn't have missed it wouldn't of missed the trip at all thoroughly enjoyed it and our guide and was fantastic and the whole process of using my guide very very simple and inexpensive was quoted £140 each through EasyJet in the hotel whereas we got it for £64 each through get my guide

I booked 2 trips through this platform while away on holiday in Tenerife. I had never heard of GetYourGuide before, but did a bit of research and saw them mentioned in a number of holiday related sites so decided to give it a go as they had a great selection of activities that we wanted to do. It was all a very smooth process with no issues, booking confirmation was received promptly and communication from the trip providers was perfect. I checked out the meeting points the day before both trips to avoid any confusion or problems on the day. All went to plan and we had a great time! Would use again!

Alhambra Booking with Get your guide is cancelled one day before tour
We booked a tour with Get your guide for Alhambra in Grenada Spain who outsourced it to Like Grenada.
We booked in February and now ONE!! day before our guided tour they cancelled it and we are already in Grenada. Obviously no alternative and no solution was given and no tickets available anymore!!
Unbelievable, never book with them it’s not reliable it’s a scam!!

Booked and paid for a wine tasting through you, but to get the tickets you had to download your app. This didn't work because my phone was too old. The first time I haven't been able to download an app. Isn't it better that you have to download your app before booking? We got our wine tasting without showing any tickets, but we won't be so lucky next time.

Poor complaint handling after an upsetting tour incident
I have booked multiple tours through GetYourGuide, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.
During one of my tours, my wife and I were asked to leave a restaurant table in front of the group after already being seated, because we had not been counted for an optional lunch. The issue was not the lunch itself, but the humiliation and emotional distress caused by the way it was handled.
What disappointed me most was the complaint handling afterward. The responses repeatedly minimized the incident as a misunderstanding and did not properly reflect the seriousness of what happened. A small partial refund was offered, but the overall tone of the communication showed very little genuine accountability or customer care.
When travelers book through a platform, they also trust that the platform will handle problems fairly if something goes wrong. In this case, that trust was damaged.

On April 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM, I had a confirmed booking for the “From Iquitos || Excursion to the Monkey Island Full Day.” I arrived at the correct meeting point on time—verified not only by my hotel staff but also by local guides.
At 8:50 AM, I proactively sent my WhatsApp number to ensure they could reach me. Despite this, I received zero communication. No guide showed up. No updates. Nothing. Just a complete no-show.
What makes this even worse is the pattern: the day before, my separate Belén Market tour was cancelled. That one was refunded—so they clearly know how to fix their mistakes when they feel like it.
But for this tour? A confirmed booking, a verified meeting point, and their total failure to show up—and now they’re refusing to refund.
This isn’t just disorganization, it’s a complete lack of accountability. They wasted my time, disrupted my plans, and are now trying to keep my money after failing to deliver the service.
If you’re considering booking through them, don’t. There are plenty of other options that actually show up and stand behind their service.

buying from GetYourGuide is a risk
We purchased tickets for the Trapani Funivia on GetYourGuide and paid AUD$98.46. GetYourGuide issued tickets which we presented at the Funivia(Cable car).
Our tickets were refused.
We had to purchase new tickets at EURO$30. That's AUD$50. GetYourGuide charged (nearly) DOUBLE what the tickets are worth.
After the trip we received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number claiming they sent us the real tickets via WhatsApp.
We contacted GetYourGuide to request a refund which they refused.
The problem here is GetYourGuide.
They issued tickets which were declined.
Then claimed an unknown 3rd party had sent the real tickets via WhatsApp.
Then tried to claim they are just an agent acting on behalf of a 3rd party.
No. Our contract is with GetYourGuide.

It was a great day, Jacob was a Nice guide, that know about capadocia, so we learned so much with him, and was kind because it was a hard walk in the underground, and selime and the valley also, the lanch was really teasting. I recomend this !

Beware---they dont have direct line or address so if anything goes wrong, then you will struggle as I am.....

GetYourGuide is very responsive. They will answer your questions within minutes even seconds. If you have any problems, they do their best to help you. I use them extensively for attractions in Italy, I never had any problems whatsoever. If there’s any possibility of a cancellation, they will give it to you. The only problem I ever had was with the actual tour operators that they work with sometimes they have to cancel.

I have been trying to resolve an issue with GetYourGuide caused by a system glitch that booked my trip at the wrong time. Customer service acknowledged the glitch and explained they could not amend the booking because it was outside their timeframe, so they offered a gift code and rebooked for the correft time as a workaround. However, the activity provider then cancelled the trip, making the gift code irrelevant, and I requested a refund to my original payment method. I was told I would receive an update within 2–3 days, but it has now been 7 days and I have still had no clear outcome or response on whether I will receive a proper refund or be forced into store credit. What is most frustrating is that the issue arose from a system glitch, the trip was later cancelled, and yet I am still left chasing a resolution. I simply want my money returned to my card for a cancelled trip.
Update - Get your guide refuse to accept there was a glitch in thier system and will not provide a refund and are forcing a gift code - here is my reply to them - Thank you for your response. However, your understanding of the situation is incorrect, and I feel my concerns are not being properly acknowledged.
I did not book the incorrect time. There was a glitch in your system, which your own staff member confirmed after reviewing the evidence I provided. Because of this system error, the booking could not be amended within your standard timeframe.
The gift code that was issued was not a gesture of goodwill, but a direct result of your team recognising that the issue was caused by your system, not by any mistake on my part.
Given this, it is not acceptable for me to now be restricted to a gift code—especially as the trip was later cancelled. I am therefore requesting a full refund to my original payment method, as this situation arose entirely due to a fault on your side.
I would appreciate a clear resolution on this matter without further delay.
