Could not end my subscription at Getty…

Could not end my subscription at Getty Images because the site was lacking the last day of my free trial. Now I am stuck up with a subscription of 35 euros and they wont allow me to cancel it unless i pay a certain amount of money to end my subscription. Not a very friendly and helpfull company would not recommend this to anyone and the way they try to help you is not very helpful because from the way they want to help you it is all about making money.

NEVER START A TRIAL VERSION OR EVEN BUY SOMETHING FROM THEIR WEBSITE! THIS COMPANY SCAMS PEOPLE, THEY'RE INHUMAN!

An acquaintance of mine entered into a trial subscription with my Paypal account to download one photo. Turns out the trial subscription expired 16/02, I ended the trial subscription that same day but according to IStock Photo I am too late. They now want to charge me an annual subscription of €74.20/month = €890.40/year!
While I don't want or need this at all. They propose a solution: if I pay €350, I can end the subscription early. A knife at my throat... €350 euros or €890.40. I stand with my back against the wall and can do nothing at all. Outrageous how inhuman this company acts. I am 8 months pregnant and this company is causing me enormous stress and financial worries!

Malicious checkout flow for $850 subscription

Malicious checkout flow to get unvolunteered $850 subscriptions for iStock by getty images, zero tolerance by your customer support, and scammed with the "favor" of giving me a cancelation for only $425.
In total i paid $585 for 0 pictures or services from iStock.
Not even GDPR compliant.
I work with software developpement, specially Ecommerce. I've never seen such a trap.

Templates can't be used without publishing software

This company sells templates. The writing on the templates clearly needs to be personalised to your own event. They don't provide the means of doing this. You need publishing software to achieve this. They wouldn't help by providing the blank template. They don't care about anyone or anything. Steer clear if you can.

This company is HORRIBLE

This company is HORRIBLE! I just missed the cut off date to cancel the subscription due to being on holidays and the account was linked to my work email address. Of course they give you no option to cancel online so I started a online chat to then be told I need to fill out the enquiry form on their website. I did this and weeks later had not heard from them so had to follow up. Apparently they sent a response to a wrong email address (clearly wrong as it was missing part of my name) despite the email address being a pre-populated field in the enquiry form and my email address being correct in my account. Their responses are insanely rude and insensitive. They deliberately don't send reminders or give you an opt out option online purely so they can deceitful trap you into their ridiculous contract. I haven't used their service once which would be evident in my account. I've requested they remove my credit card detail and have contacted my bank to cease all future transactions. This company has zero morals and despite being a $1B company they couldn't give a damn if this puts you in financial hardship. Class action anyone?

It's basically a scam

It's basically a scam. You should contact them to cancel the trial subscription and they never respond. They have the nerve to send you the automatic survey to check the quality of the service though. They don't respond and they start a year subscription telling you have to pay even if you don't use the service. Block the payments.

Getting Images IStock Photo Insane Customer Practices

Tried to cancel one month trial. Their website didn't work. sent them IP documentation of login. Customer service are bots and/or cut/paste and all refusals. Charging for a year even their their T/Cs' allows for cancellation. Even if you can finally get the yearly subscription cancelled, customer service will not refund the initial $70, even if you used no images./ They are robots and obviously the policy comes from 'above'. You will need to contact investor relations and also dispute the charge in Paypal or your Credit card company. The company will likely face a class action suit at some point. Post your issue widely online. There are many other reputable image banks that can be used.

Warning - Avoid this company at all costs!

They lure people in and bind them for 12 months subscription, without any chance of canceling it. Deceptive subscription renewals and auto-renewal policies contribute to dissatisfaction. The customer service is unresponsive and provides dismissive responses. Numerous more reliable image and video stock companies are available. Hopefully, this questionable company faces consequences soon, as such scams should not be legal. Without a functional customer satisfaction policy, dissatisfied customers are likely to voice their concerns and seek alternatives.

Spread the word: Steer clear of this problematic company!

Don’t even try it

Don’t even try it. No idea how I even got into this as I have tried a variety of company’s for free trials and never was “fine printed” in a year long subscription over something I cannot use. (Must have expensive Adobe Illustrator to download EPS files).
This cannot be legal in the U.S., right? Ugh!

Do NOT Sign UP for FREE TRIAL

I signed up for a Free Trial and it slipped my mind until I was notified a month later when a $70 payment came out. I contacted them within minutes of that payment going thru to request a refund. They denied the refund and denied the option for me to Cancel the subscription also. They told me they will continue to charge me until I pay them $700. This is the first time ever I have been denied a refund from a company when I contacted them within a reasonable amount of time after the payment was charged.

Automatic declined contributions, even though photographers whose photographs won international awards apply, and they portfolio marked as amateurs pictures. Even those worth selling. Happens to photographers from the fashion magazines to check credibility of the website. If there is any Polish female photographer accepted, it happened to fill quota. They said it is not about skills and it is not. It is about ethnicity and sponsorship, they see people who live in the UK as racist so declined very often (except men) even though someone is not a Native British. Website with no sense. Absolutely appalling policy

Absolutely appalling policy. The company has decided to use my images from a $1500 markup to simply transfer them to their second-rate affiliate Istock photo - for a download of $2.99 without my permission!!!
Avoid ANY affiliation with them unless you are supporting the exploitation of unique artworks.
