Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 101 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently struggled with unhelpful customer support teams that consistently failed to resolve persistent technical issues or respond in a timely manner when contacted. Consumers also experienced frequent hardware failures, unexpected device shutdowns, and exceptionally high repair costs for their expensive products. Some reviewers were happy with the performance of certain high-end devices and found them to be solid tools for daily fitness training activities. Additionally, a few customers noted that specific models worked reliably for basic tracking and that reaching out for helpful local assistance was straightforward.

Poor quality for various functions. GPS and pulse data, life durability for pulse bands etc. Poor feed back possibilities. There must be much stronger alternatives!

Customer service is poor

Customer service is absolutely shocking. Lost my watch abroad and I have asked them if they can put a block on it or something atleast to stop someone else accessing it if its found. Got told they cannot track or block it and that I should report it to the police, I’m in a small town in Vietnam that doesn’t have a local police station and doubt they would be able to do much about it if there was one, I told them this and got a reply of “good luck I hope you find it” seriously… for a big company I thought they would be able to offer much more support than that. Also got told if someone factory resets the garmin watch they can then just use it and Garmin Support cannot do anything about it - £350 fairly new watch down the drain!!! Will be getting the apple smart watch next as they have tracking support and you can manage it as lost on the app.

Ive tried ordering

Ive tried ordering, two different cards, paypal. Ive even created a new account with my wife's credentials - Nada. Zip. No. An error occurred at checkout.

It just doesn't work. Sadly the dashcam mini 3 is cheapest on their website so I can't even revert to amazon. I spent 30mins on the phone to Garmin and Ive given up.

GARMIN UK - DONT BY FENIX 7

DIRECTED AT GARMIN.CO.UK
DO NOT use Garmin or buy the Fenix 7. My original watch failed due to buttons not working after 2.5 years. A recertified replacement at £250 was offered and I purchased, within 10 months this same issue on the new watch watch happened again. They now want another £220 to replace with another recertified watch.

When I challenged UK customer support they didn't see the issue - over £400 with 10months for a product that just keeps on failing .

An absolute scam, a con and no desire to look after a loyal customer using Garmin products for over 12 years. NO MORE GARMIN

Purchased Fenix 7s in 2024 …shame only limited 1 year warranty- seems they expect problems had some problems with the stats not being collected …determined that it was a hardware issue rather than fix the hardware problem now being palmed off with a refurbished watch…seeing bad reviews for refurbished watches …battery life poor and visible damage …time to look at alternatives I think as Garmin no longer viable in my view

Garmin allows 'GarmStraps' to take watch strap orders on the Garmin website, then when my order fails to be fulfilled does not help me resolve!. Awful customer service

Repeated Errors, Wrong Replacement, and Zero Accountability — Garmin Support Fails

I’ve been a loyal Garmin customer for years, using their devices personally and for development purposes, but my recent experience with Garmin Australasia has been extremely disappointing.

My fēnix® 8 – 51 mm AMOLED watch developed a display issue, which I first reported on 15 January 2026. Despite providing proof of purchase and confirming the replacement order as requested, Garmin repeatedly delayed resolving the issue.

Most frustratingly, I notified Garmin on four separate occasions that the replacement watch being sent was the wrong model, yet they sent it anyway. At no point was an apology offered, and the communication consistently shifted the blame onto me instead of addressing their repeated mistakes.

For a brand with Garmin’s reputation, this experience was frustrating and unacceptable. Their customer support failed to meet even basic expectations.

Still waiting for my product after a month

Still waiting for my product after a month.

The courier (UPS) didn't provide any time slot during the day and made no attempt to ring the number provided. They said they'd come back on a certain day but came back 2 days later, apparently. Very frustrating.

Whilst this is perhaps more of a courier issue, Garmin is paying the courier - and they clearly don't care the level of shipping service provided.

They don’t send my refund

I made a refund for about a month ago. They said it could be 5-15 working days to get my money back. But didn’t. I sent another mail and said i didn’t get my refund. They said it will be investigating and this will take 5 working days. Are you kidding me? I am a garmin fanboy and use garmin products for over 10 years. Garmin netherlands are the worst experience i got so far. Still waiting for an mail if they can work sometime!

Garmin's bad and getting worse

Removing features from devices to try and sell more connect +. If you are thinking of buying a Garmin device DON'T. Chances are the feature you want it for will be behind a paywall before long and they are actively wrecking integration with other apps to get users to switch to their worse proprietry, expensive Connect +

My experience seems to echo a lot of what others are saying. I bought the Venu 2 and had it for a couple of years without any issues. Not long after it being out of warranty the watch wouldn't stay powered on unless plugged into charge. Seems to be a common issue with the watch. Approached customer services and was told my only options were to buy a repaired watch for over £150 or a 20% discount off a newer model. They can clearly repair them but don’t offer this to squeeze more money from customers. There’s an awful lot more better quality watches with actual customer support out there.

Another failed Garmin Fenix

So I'm on my second garmin fenix. First a 5x which the HRM failed. Latterly my Fenix 7x pro solar the same has failed after just over 2 years,so out of warranty.
Having contacted support it was proved the watches signal HRM was weak so recording incorrect data. They have supplied a wrist band for free for better fit aparantly, alas this has not fixed it as I thought. The other option was to get a refurbished replacent at cost of £297. Guaranteed for 90 days. Why would you? Having no confidence in the brand. Other option was a 20% discount off the new Fenix 8. Again, why would you risk it after 2 failed watches.
As a lot have said, the cost of this premium snart watch does not live up to ,the reliability one would expect. Very disappointed with the options offered to fix this.

I have had 2 Garmin Solar Instinct that have failed with battery/electrical issues. Looking online I am not alone. Garmin Support offers of a slightly reduced cost refurbished replacement with 90 days warranty I rejected as it felt like throwing good money after bad. Poor quality product and disappointing offers from Garmin.

Horrible battery management

Having mine Garmin Felix 7 watch for 2.5 years. I like its sport functions, however its battery management is horrible! Twice in one month, the watch shut down in the middle of running when it showed 6 days for battery; and showed 47% battery when it powered up. See lots of complaints about its battery management just wonder if they are going to do something about it.
===
UPDATE:
Happened again Jan 24 (3rd time this month)! I could start up the watch during run, showed 33% battery, however shut down again when resuming sport function! Just saw lots of complaints about the exact same problem in Garmin Forum, don't they not care?

Garmin watches are a triumph of useless…

Garmin watches are a triumph of useless engineering. Every button and dial invites me to interact, yet none of them appear connected to anything resembling a working mechanism. I might as well be fiddling with levers that aren’t attached to a single gear—except those would at least spare me the illusion that something might happen. Also, they're Customer Service should be renamed, Warranty Avoidance.

GREEDY Garmin

I’m extremely disappointed with Garmin. I bought the Fenix 6S Sapphire in the EU — a very expensive watch — and after moving to Canada I found out I can’t download Canadian maps without paying an additional fee of around $120. For a premium device, this is unacceptable.

Even after factory resets and using the latest Garmin Express, the watch still won’t allow access to North America maps unless I pay again. It feels like the device is region‑locked on purpose, and customers who relocate are punished for it.

For a company selling “global” outdoor watches, this level of GREED and lack of flexibility is shocking. Looking at other reviews, I’m clearly not the only one having a bad experience. (less than 2*)

I would definitely not recommend buying Garmin watches.
