UKGB rule/law? inactivity fee and need for driver licence or passport ?
MPs (e.g. Iain Duncan Smith and Gambling APPG) and UKGB take note ! This is what Matchbook is doing either because of your rules/laws, or they are doing it themself.
1.
1 year inactivity fee (£5 a month until all funds have been taken, then it miraculously stops)
2.
All customers must have a photo driving licence or passport ? (unless you are a loser ?)
If you have funds in your account and don't use account for a year, they will lock the account and start taking £5 a month until it's empty.
You can re-open the account by simply having a Drivers licence (photo) or Passport, and give them copies. If you don't have these ... tough.
Here's some replies I got (probably standard replies) .. UKGC take note !!!
......
We wanted to let you know that your account has been inactive for a period of 12 months or more. Thirty days from now, your account will begin to incur an inactivity fee of £5 per month. When the balance in your account reaches zero, the fees will stop.
If you have an active payment method linked to your account, we will attempt to refund your balance before this. To reactivate your account, simply login to Matchbook.com or through the mobile app. From there, you can continue to use the site or withdraw your remaining balance.
If your balance goes under the minimum withdrawal amount of £10, you will need to make a minimum deposit and then withdraw that amount plus your remaining balance.
......
Unfortunately, it would not be possible to transfer the money to your account without you verifying the account. This would breach our terms and conditions and we are obliged to comply with the legal requirements set out by the UKGC.
To verify your account, we require:
•A valid photo ID (Drivers Licence or Biometric Passport in jpeg format) - front and back
•Proof of address dated in the last 3 months (e.g. utility bill, bank statement, official government letter) - Mobile phone bills are not accepted.
With regard to the requested account closure, we can close the account for you once you have verified. The account will remain suspended until verification is complete.
.........
All customers need to verify after a specific time after registering. Your funds are safe however due to an inactive fee Matchbook will charge £5 per month.
......
This is standard practice for any reputable gaming business. In order for us to comply with legal requirements it is necessary to verify personal details submitted to us upon registration of Matchbook accounts.

The UKGC is a total waste of space and…
The UKGC is a total waste of space and a waste of tax payers money. The refuse to take action against the big Companies who are clearly cheating with multiple videos on youtube clearly showing this, they impose restrictions on players to make it look they have the players safety at heart. what the GCUK fail to see is that they are driving people onto VPN's etc to sites outside of there control, and as players have more choice and still the same level of risk its not hard to do. At some stage the GCUK will be a joke and will have zero control over players anywhere and due to there lack of action will have zero trust with the population. Andrew Rhodes clearly is just in it for the money. maybe one day once all the UKGC documents have been exposed, these people will do alot of jail time. Think I for 1 would suggest life without parol

Failing the UK
Firstly, I would like to confirm that this is not a direct complaint about the commission but rather about its chosen operational limitations. However, I would like to reach out to the commission yet again regarding unregulated casinos from outside the UK.
The introduction of "GAMSTOP" was a blessing for all problem gamblers, myself included. It allowed me to stop wasting time, money and gave me the prospect of a happier future as a recovering gambler. Unfortunately, this could not be further from the truth for the majority of problem gamblers who have used "GAMSTOP".
I personally believe that the commission is failing to see or acknowledge that these problem gamblers still have a desire to gamble, and as an recovering problem gambler, I know that all too well. Gamblers are generally a clever breed and will find a way to scratch the itch given the means and opportunity to do so.
What "GAMSTOP" has created is a vast amount of unregulated casinos to appear from across all waters, offering UK excluded players an unregulated platform for their addiction. These sites are now targeting "GAMSTOP" registered players and even proudly advertising under the commission's nose the fact that they accept "GAMSTOP" blocked players.
There are several issues that arise from this. Firstly, "GAMSTOP" was created to safeguard the well-being of problem gamblers, not just remove the issue from the UK statistically and make it appear that problem gambling is on the decline when clearly it is quite the opposite. Agreed, problem gamblers can no longer gamble on UK sites, but many are still gambling and facing all sorts of hardships as a result of these unregulated offshore sites. Secondly, all the reputable gambling forums such as "The POGG" and "Askgamblers" are filled with countless complaints about these offshore sites scamming already vulnerable people out of time and money, which should now be invested towards a brighter future in recovery. Lastly, these sites send emails, text messages, offer promotions, and bonuses to UK players. Clearly, they know that most of the customers signing up to their site are likely to be registered with "GAMSTOP" and have a history of gambling problems.
I have contacted you in the past regarding this escalating problem, and at the time, the commission's response was "these sites are hard to target due to location." I really feel that in this day and age, this clearly is not the case, and surely something can be done to stop these parasites from multiplying on a daily basis, praying on the UK's market, and most importantly, on the most vulnerable gamblers.
Once again, I appeal to the commission to look at this again and invite a response here for all to see. Certainly, working harder to safeguard the very people you were put in place to protect would be my request. This issue is similar to sending UK prisoners to Australia; the UK problem gambling issue may seem to have diminished due to "GAMSTOP," but it is still very much alive, just not on our shores.
I appreciate your time and am hopeful for your response
The fact that so many corrupt casinos…
The fact that so many corrupt casinos havent lost their gaming license's and been shut down already shows how incompetent the gaming comsisson is. Should be prosecuted, imprisioned and shut down. Absolutely disgusting company that do nothing.

I made a legitimate complaint and they didn't want to know. They made me wait an age and then gave me a copy and paste load of rubbish about not getting involved in complaints from individuals
Even the bookies can't be doing with them as they haven't given them correct rules regarding the affordability checks
What an absolute shower they are
I've spent many years gambling and have…
I've spent many years gambling and have noticed the gambling commision is a scam in itself. Paid by high end bookmakers and casinos to con the public into trusting gambling. These casinos percentages do not match up and games start glitches when winning. You will be held accountable when the time comes and I for one hope you get everything you deserve and more. PS: Customers do not trust these leeches with your money or details. Not only will you lose but your credentials will be sold onto third partys.
Wanted to complain about a company
Wanted to complain about a company
They made me wait 20 days. Then I got a copy paste template they must send to everyone just basically saying they don't get involved , I replied and they ignored
They turn off replies on their tweets and if you message them a polite message they just ignore it. Really ignorant
Can't see the point of them existing tbh
