Freeview - Get your act together

Freeview - what is going on?

I can't match your TV guide with the actual listings.
I've missed out on so many programmes because of this. For example, I was keen to watch Play for Today this evening on BBC Four but somehow we were 'treated' to the snooker. That's all well and good if you enjoy snooker. Unfortunately I don't.
It is a wonder anyone is watching TV these days, particularly through Freeview. Ok, so we don't pay but advertisers do and, if no-one is watching Freeview, your advertising revenue will be lost for good.
Come on, it's not rocket science!

Rubbish they should be ashamed

Terrible reception for our area. Main transmitter too!! Absolutely shocking for the 21st century. Wife trying to watch soaps on STV so tried the player online which is no better so she's missing everything. Been like this all weekend and up to today. Will be forced to go to Sky and pay for decent reception for ordinary channels

Appalling service. Without a shadow of a doubt the worst…

Without a shadow of a doubt the worst television broadcasting co in the country. If the sun comes out and a bit of high pressure it stops working. Then they give you a load of old flannel about retuning your tv. They never own up to the fact that it is an appalling service, if they cannot run it properly step aside an let someone in who can run it properly. I have given it one star because I had to. I would prefer to give freeview no stars

Terrible company

Terrible company, service gets worse week by week, wrong listings, wrong genre, no customer service, now listing dozens of radio programmes, hard to find how to view a radio show. We were promised the earth when we were forced to have free view, but NO one takes or is responsible. If they have a licence to operate this service remove it and give it to someone who cares about the service.

I have reviewed this before but as I…

I have reviewed this before but as I only have freeview I feel compelled to do so again: it has noticeably worsened in the last 12 to 6 months or so. There are now perhaps only a handful of programmes worth watching in an entire week - some days are not worth bothering with at all . So much so that I now consider it CRIMINAL FRAUD to expect anyone to pay the exorbitant licence fee to watch freeview. Persons with a penchant for absolute rubbish : war propaganda, sport, limp quizzes, "celebrity" this that and the other, USA this that and every other piece of American garbage, NFL etc, next top model blah blah blah it would be possible to cram the bandwidth with - shows requiring nothing more than executive mogadon for the masses, those with a mental age of a child of 6 years or less - might be satisfied. Who is choosing to broadcast this crap - the BBC was given taxpayers' money, as I understand it, to set up freeview - and clearly it has FAILED. As for Channels 4 and 5 ~ complete Reginald Molehusband BS... channel bore is what the SUN called 4 when it launched - expect they're well satisfied now though.

I am actually happy with Freeview after…

I am actually happy with Freeview after just watching TV through my communal aerial which was missing SO many TV channels

I am in my 60's and home a lot especially in the winter and the CHOICE on Freeview is so amazing compared to what I had

I think I will possibly miss SOME of the old channels I had as I have not found them on Freeview as YET ( too busy watching a film right now lol ) and have not scrolled any further yet but I could not get 'Great Movies' on my aerial alone which is the channel I so wanted , so that is a bonus for me now , BUT I was NOT expecting adverts and 'pauses' with a timer going down which is a pain as I did not get them when watching channels through my aerial but never mind am still VERY HAPPY with Freeview as the picture is super clear , seems reliable and I am shocked at how many channels I get!!

The cold winter months won't be so dreary now , but exciting , as I am literally spoilt for choice now!! :-) :-)

Thank you Freeview , so happy to be free of subscriptions I cannot afford and a useless communal aerial which is not maintained by my landlord!!

Welcome to the digital world for me for my old NON Smart TV at last!!! :-) xx

freeview needs a wide update for children and adults.

What wrong with freeview is it needs a wide update on movies ,series and programmes the same things are always bieng put on. Its half term for the children halloween and there is nothing on why is it every holiday you only put on programmes and movies for kids on the weekend what about the week days they are off school. Its poor you dont cater to the puvlic well enough. Especially the children its not all the time they want to watch cartoon channels all day. Not good at all. There thousands of movies old and new out there and they are hardly put on its sad !

Freeview TV content is really poor quality. Adverts are relentless and when you finally find something worth watching you get bombarded with long boring adverts that go on forever. It's crap¡¡

Terrible but free

In between every 8 - 12 minutes there are adverts which you might as well change channel. Most channels are so interesting that you might as well be blind drunk. Only way to watch is to watch 2 channels at the same time that don't coincide with the wokist predominantly black people advertising.
Overall utter rubbish BUT better than paying lots for expensive WiFi.

'security error' messages

For sometime now I get a 'security error' message when the program switches to commercials. This happens on all streamers except iplayer with 5 being the worst as it it then switches to restart the episode and this can happen several times in the same commercial break. This is happening on my Toshiba tv.
