Best selection of books in Britain
Best selection of books in Britain, the only thing as good as the Charing x Store? The online store. Lower Ground, Ground and first floor are essential.
I wanted to use a bookshop based supplier instead of Amazon but . . . .
In trying to support bookshops, rather than on-line only, I ordered two books from Foyles a month ago. Order confirmed by email. No books. No updates. Acknowledgement emails of the two I sent chasing an update, including the last one copied to James Daunt. Nothing from his office either. I used to enjoy shopping in Daunts but this Foyles experience leaves a nasty taste. Somebody at Foyles reads these reviews, and chooses to respond to the good ones. Has anyone here had their issue resolved after posting a poor review?
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Ordered a book almost 3 weeks ago but nothing so far: no update. Sent multiple emails but I am not getting any answer. I will never order again with Foyles.
Just appalling
Just appalling. I used a book token and Paypal to place an order in July. One book was never sent. They have closed the phone line for "customer services" (non existent in my view) and refuse to reply to emails. To add insult to injury a further payment has been taken. The excuse of a new warehouse system holds no water after all this time. If it is new, it certainly isn't working!
Ordered a book 3 weeks ago
Ordered a book 3 weeks ago. Nothing yet. No answers to emails. It's a pitty. Shame on them.
Disastrous. No response whatsoever.
I made an order last week. No response. The book is now listed as unavailable and its price is significantly (!) higher. I followed up with them -- again, nothing. Silence.
Warning! scammers!!
Warning!! They are scammers!!
I spent 150 pounds as a token on their website one month ago and still no response!

I wish I had checked Trust Pilot before placing my order as it seems I've had a familiar experience.
I placed an order 3 weeks ago and spent nearly £200 on books only for part of the order ot be fulfilled. I've contacted 'Customer Service' over emails and had no response.
Utterly shocking and completely appalling, I won't be ordering from them again.
Placed an online order end of August
Placed an online order end of August. They took payment, I haven’t received it and it’s 8th October. No one responding to my emails. I could have easily bought it in a bookshop and not paid postage.
Outstandingly bad online service
books supposedly in stock still not dispatched, no answer from the customer service email. Utterly appalling behaviour in this day and age. Back to Amazon for me.
Ordered a book at the beginning of…
Ordered a book at the beginning of September. Emailed 2 weeks after to inquire why it had not arrived. Did not get a reply until beginning of October which stated they were canceling my order
Appalling
Appalling, don’t buy online they take your money, don’t send the goods and then ignore any emails.
Shame used to be a brilliant store would not put a foot inside now

TERRIBLE.Ordered a book at the beginning of August and still awaiting delivery at the end of September.Customer service is a joke.I only ordered from Foyles because I had a book token. The same book on Amazon was 25% cheaper with next day delivery.
Bought a book on the 28th August
Bought a book on the 28th August, it finally arrived almost half way through September but was damaged. Customer service took ages to reply, though when they did they quickly sent out a replacement that arrived the next day... also damaged.
Another book I bought on the 28th August I was only just informed a couple of days ago that I will not be getting because it is no longer in stock now.
Will never be using them again.
Terrible service
Terrible service
No number to call for online
No reply to emails
Noone answers phone in store
No update on order
Awful Awful Awful
Shockingly bad service for online orders
Ordered a book, delivery due 11th-16th August, payment taken but item not dispatched and no updates from Foyles... two emails to customer service with no response. Book showing as in stock so why not delivery? Reminded them of the Consumer Rights Act but still nothing. What on earth are they playing at taking money but no attempt at dispatching the item? Criminal!

Ordered four books on website on the 20th July. Two arrived but the other two are apparently "on order" despite showing up as being available and in stock ...
I emailed customer "service" two days ago ("we aim to reply in 48 hours") and have emailed again today-not even an automated acknowledgement.
Brilliant Foyles
I bought a product from Foyles and the manufacturer had not included an essential part in the box.The manufacturer did not help me but Foyles customer service sent a replacement in the post as I do not in London. There were no quibbles and it was replaced in a timely fashion. Excellent service.

Reply from Foyles
Utterly appalling- rang to check if…
Utterly appalling- rang to check if email received was a scam as apparently payment had not gone through. Rang Children's Dept as 3 out of 4 books were Children's- rude woman who not only did not listen but gabbled at me, interrupted and said I ought to cancel my order and she was putting down the phone as she 'cannot deal with calls like this today!' I could NOT believe it!! Online service utterly appalling. No complaints procedures, no numbers to call. Paypal system is horrible if you don't use Paypal. You have lost a customer who has spent £100's with you.
Overpriced bookshop lacks imagination
Overpriced bookshop lacks imagination. Other bookstore offer 50%-70% discounts. I go to foyles just to view books and buy them on ebay.
