Our stay at Fota Island Resort was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The resort itself is beautiful, luxurious, and incredibly relaxing, but what truly made the experience stand out was the outstanding service from the staff.

A special thank you to Rebecca in Reservations, who was extremely efficient, professional, and accommodating throughout the booking process. She made everything seamless and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect before we even arrived.

We also want to recognise Lloyd in the Leisure Centre, who was equally fantastic. His warm, friendly attitude and attention to detail made our experience extra special. He was incredibly helpful and made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued during our visit.

The level of customer service at Fota Island Resort is second to none, and thanks to staff members like Rebecca and Lloyd, we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a first-class stay in Cork!

I visited FOTA Island Resort for afternoon tea, a hotel I have always associated with five-star quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations, particularly regarding the gluten-free afternoon tea offering.

At least three of the gluten-free items served appeared to be shop-bought rather than freshly prepared in-house. For a hotel of this calibre and at the premium price point of an afternoon tea, I expected a fully homemade selection. As someone who requires gluten-free options, these experiences are already more limited, and I chose FOTA Island specifically expecting the same level of care, creativity, and quality afforded to the standard menu. Sadly, that was not reflected in what was served.

What has compounded my disappointment is the lack of response from the hotel. I have emailed the team twice to raise my concerns and request clarification on their approach to gluten-free offerings — and have received no reply on either occasion.

I genuinely hope this was an exception, as I have great respect for what FOTA Island represents. However, both the quality of the gluten-free offering and the absence of any customer response make it difficult to recommend this experience without reservation.
