Professional, friendly and reassuring.

I researched thoroughly before choosing Focus clinic. It is a bit higher on price but I wasn't ready to take any risk. Process was well defined, team was friendly and there was no pressure applied in any form. I'm able to achieve 20/20 vision. Operation was done in Feb, 2024. What they can improve on

1: Explain process in operation theatre in advance like seeing green light, for some time it won't be visible, burning smell from laser etc. It is routine for staff but for patients it might be first time in operation theatre.

2: Show empathy with patient on operation day as they can be nervous. I was told twice on operation day that your operation won't go forward for minor reasons(due to nervousness), once while doing final scans, 2nd while lying on bed in operation theatre.

3: Brief patients about medications before operation day. Will be great if you can provide a printout as well. Again on operation day, I was loaded with loads of information and didn't remember all, resulting in some complication.

The whole process at Focus Clinic was so easy and stress free. I felt like I could trust the information I was given, kept informed at all times and the surgery went without any issues. I’m amazed at how quick and effortless the surgery and recovery was. Having 20/20 vision for the first time since I can remember is incredible

I don’t really do reviews unless they’ve positively altered my life in some way so here I am. Huge special thanks to David who is very calm and has an impressive background that also made it really easy for me to trust him with my eyes throughout the process . Personally I have never had contacts lenses (would wear glasses at home or driving), let alone allowed anyone touch my eyes before so it was a huge step for me. I had LASIK done and it was all complete in 20 mins. I’ll be honest, there is some slight discomfort from the pressure when the flap is created but its only for around 30 seconds and they do a count down so I mentally was telling myself it’ll be over soon and just thinking about how i’ll be able to see clear again. Also, you can’t physically close your eyes and the laser tracks them so you don’t have to worry about anything going wrong. After both eyes were complete, my vision improved significantly seconds after! After taking the drops getting home and rested, my eyes were able to see clearly, it was a surreal feeling. Its been one week since the surgery today and I would highly recommend Focus Clinic. I also was initially skeptical cause I stumbled across David on tiktok and typically for me tiktok restuarant recommendations always disappoint so wasnt sure. I took the leap after seeing their amazing reviews here and thought I’ll add to the list! If you are considering eye surgery, do it with them. The results are life changing!

I decided to post a review now because I have seen and met some people who had complications with the surgery after getting it cheaper from other providers.

A week on from surgery and I just cannot get my head around just waking up and being able to see clearly! This is all thanks to the incredible team at Focus Clinics. Every member of staff, from the very initial phone call all the way through to the surgery and post op review have been phenomenal. The level of customer care is second to none and the service has been outstanding. I went from not being able to see past 40cm to having 20/16 vision in 24 hours!! I would highly recommend Dr Allamby, he is SO knowledgable, professional and kind. He has such a calming vibe about him, that just put any nerves totally at ease before and during the surgery. I had a consultation months ago and took my time to decide if I wanted to go ahead with surgery, and appreciated that there was no pressure or follow up calls to sway my decision either way. Six months on from my LASIK eye surgery and I am very happy with the results, having achieved better than 20/20 vision. I was around -5.00 in both eyes for around two years and after the surgery, my prescription is now +0.50 in both eyes (this was delibarate to provide me with a buffer in case there is any further regression in my eyesight as I am 27).

The entire team was extremely welcoming and highly competent in their roles. In my first eye test with Focus, Minita caught that I was getting confused with my answers to the "which lens is clearer?" test and we reset the test accordingly. Her attention to detail and ability to notice (when I was waffling and) when my answers did not line up with what she would expect demonstrated to me how careful the team is in getting it right.

Thank you very much to Dr Allamby and his team for making the day of surgery such a smooth experience. I did opt to take the pill that makes you a little more relaxed. I was given two stress balls and to be honest I didn't feel anything. Dr Allamby explained the whole process so I always knew exactly what was happening. I was in and out within 15 minutes and experienced zero side effects (other than a halo effect around objects for about a day or so and I was told this is normal - even if it lasted longer!) The lack of side effects and smooth surgery is attributable to the state of the art equipment available at Focus combined with Dr Allamby and his team's wealth of experience which is why I chose Focus over others. Even my regular optometrist asked me for the name of the clinic, flagged he would not change a thing about my new vision and commented that Focus did a really good job.

Without doubt, the cost of LASIK eye surgery at Focus is higher than in other clinics, but I made a conscious decision to go to the best no matter what the price and I suggest that others do the same if they have the means. It is your eyes after all!

To those with dry eyes, following the surgery, I can confirm that in my experience my existing dry eyes was not exacarbated or made worse by the surgery. In line with Focus' excellent client care, Dr Allamby explained to me that I had meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), cleared 2-3 blocked glands on my eyelid which provided instant relief, and recommended home treatments to get it under control before the day of surgery. I got a sense that he really cared about the health of his patients.

My newfound vision means the world to me and I'm so glad to be part of the headline statistic at Focus, namely: 100% success rate for 20/20 vision.

If you are on the fence, I recommend you go in for a consultation to find out if you are a good candidate! It has honestly been a life changing gift. My friends are absolutely shocked at the new me - no longer a blind bat!
