Never again. I've learnt my lesson the hard way.

I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star. Absolute joke of a business, disgusting customer service. And make money off you calling their customer service. No body is helpful. You ask for an issue to be escalated and you hear nothing back. No complaints procedure. THIS BUSINESS IS A SCAM, THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

AVOID !! AT ALL COSTS, DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

I emailed customer services on 3 occasions to explain that the advisor who sold me the gift card did not explain about the expiry date rules and asked if the expiry date on my card could be extended . As my emails were ignored(I received an automated reply) I called and was told it was my fault as I should have read the receipt. The gift card and receipt were handed over to me in an envelope ,I had no reason to check if there was an expiry date as most gift cards have longer than a year . The customer service is disgusting, how anyone with a conscience could work for this company is beyond me. The company should be held accountable , technically it's theft. They are taking people's money and not supplying the goods, how can anyone get away with this?
I am surprised shopping centres are using this company unless they are in it together.
If I could give the company a no star review I would , but unfortunately you have to give a star to be able to write a review.

DO NOT EVER BUY ONE OF THESE CARDS FOR ANYONE. I have a card with a considerable amount of money on it which has gone past its expiry date. I rang the helpline and was just quoted their Terms and conditions, without any flexibility. They must be making huge amounts of profit because people have busy lives and can forget the expiry date. Compare with some national book tokens that I managed to extend without any problems whatsoever. Its money down the drain!

Very pleased with the company who…

Very pleased with the company who agreed to extend my expiry date.

I had quite a lot of money on it and was worried that my forgetfulness would mean I'd lose it all, but they kindly agreed (as a gesture of goodwill) to extend it by 90 days for the £9.95 fee.

I think these cards should have a longer expiry date (5 years perhaps) but, on this occasion, they were very understanding.

Didn't want to give 1 star but had to…

Didn't even want to give 1 star but had to in order to review it. No flexibility whatsoever in relation to an expired gift card that my daughter received. I understand that "Terms and conditions" state there is a 1 year expiry but they have the money and I have a very upset little girl. It can not be called customer service as all they do is copy and paste from their small print. Might get myself a managers job there as there is never a manager available to speak to. Will be telling all of my friends to avoid at all costs

Unacceptable customer Service

Unacceptable customer Service. Extortionate fees for reactivating cards which are not made clear at time of purchase. Called to complain but no managers available. (BEWARE: post sales customer service number charged above local rates without any warning). No response from complaint through website and no response to numerous complaints via emails. Would not recommend purchasing vouchers from this company (e.g festival place vouchers).

Absolutely disgusting customer service!!!

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Probably the worse I have ever received! My card had expired by 2 days and they refused to extend it unless I paid £9.95. When I challenged this, they kept repeating the same script to me...it’s our Terms and Conditions.
I asked to speak to a manager and was told there were no managers working in the customer service or complaints department and that I should send an email to them which would take 3-5 days to reply to. How has this company managed to survive? Unbelievable!
Please do not use this company. They should be ashamed of themselves...absolute robbers!

Stole my £40

Stole £40 from me because I did not know when my card had been issued. Asked to donate the £40 to a charity but they just kept referring to their terms and conditions. Customer service team lack empathy, computer says no attitude towards people.

My Daughter had her birthday money taken away! Useless

Bought a card for my daughter who doesn't live me and therefore has restricted access to the Trafford centre. Used half of the value on the card before it expired and she has now lost the remainder and was unable to buy what she wanted for her holidays.
These cards are a complete waste of money, you are much better off sending cash

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. If you don’t use the card in time even a few days out, you get charged £9.95 to reactivate it - daylight robbery! Will tell friends and family not to use this company again.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Waited until after the weekend to request that I submit a photocopy of my passport and proof of my address. All for a £20 gift card. I can only make assumptions as to what they wanted my identity details for, after I had already provided the security details requested by my card provider.

As others have said DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
The card runs out after a year and then its bye bye money, cash is put on and as such cash should stay on, taking money from expired cards seems like theft to me, my bank doesn't take my money after a year just because i didn't use it.
i have learned the hard way and now refuse to buy one of these cards which is a shame as they did seem like a good idea.

Also what really grates me is that when handing it over the retailer has no idea how much is on the card so you will be asked, so you have to keep a check on what you spend.

Our local town Basingstoke has been a nightmare to use these in, have had some rather embarrassing times when i handed over a card which i knew had £100 on it to be told it was declined and other stores who said they didn't accept them but when i asked at the desk i was told they did and more training was needed so that retailers know the terms.

So what seems like a good idea has lots of downsides, the most important being that if the card runs out its useless, of course you can ask them to reinstate the card as per their terms but read those terms as they will have you running through hoops to spend your own money.

I now give people cash, that way they can spend when they want and how they want, i also advise everyone i know to not use them, but those that ignore soon find out the issues anyway.

Do not use this company for your gift …

Do not use this company for your gift cards, they only have a year for you to use them, if you miss this date they charge £9.95 to reactivate the card. This is not their money, if friends had given you cash you would be free to spend it any time and no charge, how can a card that was bought with cash in good faith run out, it is not their money. DO NOT USE and hopefully Intu at the MetroCentre will get the message and find a better system. I will never be using them again.

Gift Card sold Metro centre, Gateshead

Please avoid buying gift cards for any reason especially by a company called Flex-e-cards. The cards have a validity for one year so that the card company can keep the money in case the customer forgets to encash the same. They declined to revalidate my son's birthday Gift date since it was out of date by some months. There should be a body to monitor such parasitic card companies. AVOID ! AVOID!
