ILLEGAL TELEMARKETING PRACTICES THEFT OF PERSONAL DATA
I recently had a deeply concerning experience with a company (or possibly a marketing firm they hired) that employed underhanded and illegal telemarketing tactics to mislead consumers. It all began with a call from a Google Voice number, a clear attempt to avoid detection and traceability. The caller claimed that I had gone online and requested a quote—something I definitely had not done. This blatant misinformation was their way of drawing me in and convincing me to engage further.
The audacity of these individuals, from the misleading phone calls to their blatant disregard for private property, is appalling. I have video footage and a record of the license plate from the dark blue Tesla SUV they were driving, which I'll be submitting with my complaint to the CSLB, FTC, and LBPD for trespassing and illegal telemarketing practices.
It's troubling how far some companies will go to manipulate and deceive people. If you ever encounter similar tactics, I strongly encourage you to report it to the authorities—these companies need to be held accountable for their actions.
It's not just bad business; it's illegal, and it should not be tolerated.
