WARNING: FIRE STEAKHOUSE MAY BE A HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH
WARNING: FIRE STEAKHOUSE MAY BE A HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH. It certainly was to me. I was violently ill for two days following a meal at this well-known restaurant. It may be legally difficult to place full blame on FIRE restaurant for my two days of vomiting and diarrhoea. But as a paying guest, I am certainly entitled to write about my experiences and express my opinions and concerns. Let me give you some background. I am a doctor (and writer) who has travelled to every country in the world. Over the past 14 years of continuous travel, I have personally experienced food poisoning on multiple occasions. I know what it is, I know the cause (Salmonella and/or E.coli contamination), I know the signs and symptoms, and I have cared for myself and many patients with this illness. For my meal at FIRE Restaurant, I started with ½ dozen of very small, tasteless, very expensive, raw oysters. I also had some of my partner’s garlic prawns. For the main course, I had an average sized, very average tasting, rather tough, rib-eye steak with French fries. That’s it. No salad nor other vegetables offered. Just steak and chip, all for the ridiculous price of 50 euros. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was what you would expect from an expensive restaurant. But the food was seriously substandard. A real disappointment. And then I was sick. Man…was I sick!!! I can only think of one other time I was so violently ill. I complained to management. They were not very apologetic, requested a form be filled out and then totally disregarded my concerns or feelings. You may come to your own conclusions, but I have warned you; FIRE STEAKHOUSE MAY BE A HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH. Good luck, you may need it.
