Firefox.FX (A Pyrotechnic Company), Not Firefox The Internet Browser

First, this review is not for the internet browser, Firefox. This review is for Firefox-FX, the family-operated fireworks company located in Idaho.

My last two attempts to place an order with this company had the same unhappy results. Firefox-FX accepted my funds but never shipped out the products. The second to last order was in 2018 and the last order was placed on March 20th, 2024.

Because there was something on their website in 2018 about a personal illness in the family, and I wondered if the company was out of business (that might explain why they never shipped my order in 2018), I reached out to Firefox-FX on March 11, 2024 before placing the most recent order on March 20th, 2024, asking if the company was still in business. Skyler Purrington or Angela Purrington replied, saying Firefox-FX is still in business. So I ordered a number of books from them. Right afterwards, I received an invoice in an auto-reply email. In that invoice, they used my old mailing address for the 2018 order instead of the address I provided them in my 2024 order. Panicked, and not wanting my books shipped to the wrong address, I emailed Firefox-FX and let them know that the invoice shipping address was outdated. Skyler Purrington answered at that time and said not to worry. They will ship to the address I supplied when I submitted the order.

Relieved, I waited for the books, although I did ask if I could swap one of the books for substitutes since I already purchased it previously (my own mistake). Nobody answered my emails asking if I could substitute one book for
a comparably priced substitute book.

In any case, as mere books, which are not hazardous and therefore are not complicated to ship, I can’t fathom why shipping would involve months of delays without any shipment ever. Whether self-printed or printed by a third party, the “books” I ordered were self-authored by the Purrington family and printed on 8.5”x11” paper, bound together with budget office supplies that can be bought at local stores with an office supply section. Not “rocket science.” Pun intended.

There simply is no excuse for saying they are still in business, accepting a customer’s funds, then failing to ship purchased items afterwards.

While waiting for both the 2018 and 2014 orders, I sent Firefox-FX multiple emails to every email address appearing on their website, called the phone numbers appearing on the website, and left a voice message on the only phone number that was capable of receiving a voice message.

At this point, Firefox-FX ignored all of my emails and calls. Although I did not want to do so, I had no choice but to initiate disputes with my banks. I received full refunds for both orders. For my latest order on March 20th, 2024, I didn’t receive a refund till mid-July. 4 months after I placed my order!

I don’t know what happened to this company. When Diane Purrington interfaced with customers, it seemed like she got stuff got done and this company used to be one of the best, if not the best, in their own industry. Now, and by now I refer to my last two experiences spanning the last 6 years, Firefox-FX went from Hero to Zero.

Firefox.FX is a dud! Another pun intended. That is my own opinion, based only upon personal experiences.

There is simply no excuse for my experiences. The only thing a customer hates more than a company accepting money for goods but never shipping is a company that also refuses to answer emails and phone calls during the post-purchase phase of the “transaction.”

I have not left out anything material from this review. It is truthful and honest.
