Experience was excellent because of my interactions with Teresa "Terri" Prendergast, Loan originator officer. She was very knowledgeable regarding the questions/concerns I had about the loan process. There was never any impatience or talking down to, as is too often experienced by us old folk (I'm 88). I felt like a valued customer as we negotiated aspects of the loan. I also spoke with the underwriter who made it easy to clarify questions about my application. Terri was professional yet friendly, and I felt at ease in our conversations. She always returned my calls quickly, which kept me up to date about the process, what documents were needed,etc. This made my navigation through the complex process stress-free, as I had read negative things about reverse mortgages. The streamlined closing transaction was much appreciated; received my payout without a hitch. In summary, the experience positively exceeded my expectations because of the time and effort put forth by Terri. I would highly recommend FOA reverse mortgage to my elderly friends. Thanks to Terri.

I felt that the service I received from the loan officers and a loan processor was excellent. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful to me in accomplishing the steps in the Reverse Mortgage process.

it started out a little, rocky little slow, but once I was assigned a new worker, they went above and beyond to help me get things done in a timely manner

We were new to Reverse Mortgages, so our representative, Joel Garcia explained in detail every step throughout the process. Joel was available every time we called or emailed, he followed up before and after our consultation, so nothing was ever a surprise. Our loan was processed in record time, with no stress, no doubt on our decision and 100% satisfaction with Joel, and Finance of America.

The experience was very challenging and I don't think it needed to be.

Very thorough explanation of the different reverse mortgage options, very pleasant interactions with FOA personnel and they kept on top of the process while we awaited my qualifying birthday.

Ciro Bochiaro was an excellent representative of the company. He explained the process, addressed my questions and concerns and was very professional and knowledgeable about the process of a reverse mortgage.

The process was confusing at times, having one contact (Amy) available was extremely helpful. She was very patient , knowledgeable and very responsive and easily accessible

FOA got us a great Reverse Loan. 5 Stars. But their processing time was overly long and tedious. Their Underwriters are overworked. Overall 4 stars.

Follow up service

This review is not about my rep who was great. But rather the web site which is consistently buggy and inconsistent. The chances of me getting a "there is a problem" message are much higher than getting to my information. This has been through the application process and now that the loan closed 10 days ago.

The loan officer was wonderful and he treated us very well with respect and with understanding. The process was a little bit drawn out, but it all worked out great.
