This must be the worst car company in the world. Hard to imagine something worse.
We bought an Electric Fiat Doblo. It stoped working / functioning after just a couple of weeks. It has now been at Fiat almost 4 months!!!!! And they dont know how long it will take.
We suggested to change it to a petrol or a refund… no reply…. Sent over 15 mails…. No reply.
What ever you do…. NEVER buy a Fiat! They simply dont have any service. I am writing this from Italy, i speak the language, i know the customs, …. It doesnt help.
FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A DISGRACEFUL
FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A DISGRACEFUL, MY EXPERIENCE OF OWNING A FIAT VEHICLE HAS PERSONALLY COST ME £5000 FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAD DONE 9000 MILES. ENGINE REBUILD, FIAT SAID IM NOT A LOYAL CUSTOMER, AS DIDN’T BUY ANY CAR MATS ETC.
IM SPEECHLESS, WHEN I COMPLAINED, WAS THREATENED WITH SOLICITORS. ONLY VOICE I HAVE IS HERE.
Can't use Ducato Motorhome
I have a Ducato motorhome under warranty that has done 2000miles only. I've been told not to drive it due to an engine warning light about a PM sensor (diesel particulate sensor). I've been waiting for 5 weeks for a part now - my case handler says it is on backorder with no due data, and there's nothing more she can do. However, I believe Fiat are still making new vans - so there are parts somewhere.
Customer Care in Italy are shocking! And they refuse to tell you who to escalate to.
Like the cars..... customer services are a joke! Having worked for 2 brands in customer Carr I’m shocked at fiat customer services ... not the garage, actual customer care. And it’s them who defines the brand. Shocking service. Been a fiat customer for 13 years with various vehicles.... all they are interested in is the money!
Dont Buy a Fiat
We have a new German motorhome on a Fiat Chassis which we have been having issues with on the Brake control module. The dash light comes on when its raining or very sunny. Fiat dealer spent 18 hours checking it over coming back informing us that this was normal. They have charged our motorhome supplier with the costs. How can they produce a vehicle that has inherent faults with it. They charge extra for the Lane departure system which doesn't also work.
Fiat Warranty Is Not Worth the Paper It's Written On….
Fiat Warranty Is Not Worth the Paper It's Written On…..The engine on our Ducato YO19 RZU has detonated. At first Stoneacre, Chesterfield had no interest in having the vehicle recovered to them and they’ve since made every effort to wriggle out of our warranty claim. They maintain that Fiat UK is behind this? Would you like to explain what's going on as I all I've received from the dealership is contradiction and misinformation.

We use a local fiat agent in North devon for warranty we run over 30 vans and find our fiats reliable nice to drive 8 grand cheaper than a vw with more kit far far more reliable than our ford vans our fiats drive well good on fuel good spec
Good rate about quality/ price
Good rate about quality/ price. I think Italian use to complain above all the neighbour. But sincerely 5 stars are for Alfa Romeo brand, engines, and style. 4 and 3 stars for some Fca cars' design. I think big mistake not to replace Punto with a new model.
generally good mechanics. They can make more :)
Fiat vehicles are so unreliable
Fiat vehicles are so unreliable. I've had 3 motorhomes with a Fiat base vehicle. I had no choice as most motorhomes are Fiat based. I have had trouble with all of them - the most recent an engine mount sheared off when I turned the engine off!!, you couldn't make it up.
As for people buying a Fiat 500 are you mad!!. The original was a pile of *****!!!
I drive a Hyundai you will have no problems.
Absoloutly disgusting i will never…
Absoloutly disgusting i will never purchase anything from fiat again, i am 28 weeks pregnant with a blood disorder so have to go to hospital all the time to be monitored, my car is just under 5 years old both door handles snapped off and can't get into the car at all unless i leave the window open, a warranty lasts 3 years fair enough but for them to admit that its a fault and both handles snapping off after the warranty has ran out and still making me pay £250 for 2 plastic handles I've had cars that are 14years old and no handles snapped off angry is an understatement and stress that i don't need
I have a 4 year old FIAT 500 X it has…
I have a 4 year old FIAT 500 X it has done just over 29 000 miles. The car has been a dream to drive and I really like the car, however, a week ago I took it to Stone Acre Chesterfield for routine service and MOT, it failed, according to Stone Acre it had a dangerously burnt out wire on the near side brake light. A Connector Kit, which is the required part has been ordered from Fiat, I was assured the part would be available last Monday, it is now 7 days since my car entered Stone Acre and no part still available, I have called and emailed Fiat myself after Stone Acre were unable to get a firm delivery date from Fiat. Each time I make contact with Fiat they promise me someone will be in touch which is an utter lie, nobody has had the decency to contact me to tell me or Stone Acre when the part will be available. I have trolled the Internet hoping to find the part from car parts companies in the UK, all to no avail, the Connector Kit isn't available off the shelf anywhere. Out of desparation I contacted the Daily Telegraph newspaper who have a well known motoring section asking for their help. They informed me that I haven't any chance of getting the spare part from Fiat until September because, like the rest of Europe they are on shut down for annual holidays (what a way to run a company!!!!)
So here I am, 7 days no car and probably looking at another 1-2 weeks before I can get the part, and that is probably being optimistic! One thing I am determined, Fiat will be paying me compensation and I shall be selling my lovely car, once it is repaired, and ensure that I never, ever buy a European made car ever again, back to Honda or Nissan for me!
If I could have posted zero stars on this review I would have but as you can't all I can say is DON'T BUY FIAT, unless you are happy to have it sit around for weeks, possibly months whilst you try to get parts out of the useless cretins when something goes wrong with your car. 😠😠😠
Awful Awful Company
Awful Awful Company
My boyfriend brought a fiat talento three months ago basically brand new, the service light comes on so he gives them a call to explain this. They call him last week and say he needs to bring the van in (no explanations given) We go on Holiday and come back. My boyfriend goes back to work and he hears a big bang! The van has rolled into someone else car and smashed it all in. I call Fiat and they advised all these vans had a recall due to the hand breaks having issue. Customer service is awful, i have been told to use my boyfriend insurance for the damaged car they take away his car and wont give us a replacement. Have been told i have to wait for case manager to call me back, they will not tell me when they will call me back. The parts wont be in till next week but they wont be fixing the damage to outside of the van untill this is looked into?????
Customer service is a joke.
DO NOT BUY FROM FIAT UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK KILLING OR HURTING SOMEONE AND PAYING OUT FOR IT TO GET FIXED YOURSELF!!!
Fiat warranty and customer service a disgrace!
My two year old 'Fiat Ducato' van has spent a total of ten weeks over three visits to the 'Fiat' 'Professional' (joke?!) service centre at 'Stoneacre Wrexham', with exactly the same seemingly unfixable problem! The automatic gearbox refuses to go into any gear without notice.
After having it back for less than a month this time it's starting to show signs of problems once again, although so far it's still movable!
I contacted 'Fiat' who told me to take it back to be fixed yet again. I explained that as they don't know what's wrong with it, how can they be sure to fix it? They have always made me have the van recovered to them at my own expense, never offered any compensation for last earnings or a courtesy van so I can at least continue to work while it's being 'fixed' for up to a month at a time! This is totally unacceptable when I rely on my precious van to do my self employed job. Over ten weeks without my van I've lost thousands in lost revenue and neither 'Fiat' nor 'Stoneacre' care.
Apparently I can't have a courtesy van as my warranty doesn't cover it after the first year. My warranty also doesn't seem to cover fixing my van as, after ten weeks on ramps the problem remains unresolved. How can I trust 'Fiat' or 'Stoneacre Wrexham' with my van for yet another undisclosed period of time with no guarantee of it being fixed and no vehicle to use for work in it's place?
I therefore own a useless possibly dangerous van sold by a company that doesn't care. It's not 'fit for purpose and I'm within my rights to reject the vehicle at no financial cost to myself as 'neither Fiat' nor 'Stoneacre Wrexham' have fulfilled their contractual obligations. I will also be claiming compensation for lost revenue.
'Fiat's' customer service team are base in 'Milan'. No UK base. Mobile phone calls cost a fortune! They're seemingly just robots programmed to say whatever 'Fiat' instruct them to, no matter any extenuating circumstances. They do however get worked up pretty easy! I will continue to fight...
Fiat 500 door handles not fit for purpose.
Fiat 500 door handles are absolute rubbish and not fit for purpose this is the 5th one that I've had to have replaced at garage.
Am trying to find out where I can complain to but looking at previous reviews customer service is as useful as their door handles.
Bought car from new and after few weeks had to go in for a new brain ever since still flashing lights on dash board but fiats own garage unable to rectify why and stop this.
Won't be buying another.. costing a fortune keep having to get both door handles replaced.
If anyone can advise where else to complain to I would be grateful. One unsatisfied customer.
Fiat warranty claim
I own a 4.5 tonne Dethleffs Esprit motorhome based on a Fiat Ducato chassis. The vehicle has covered 21,000 miles and is not yet 3 years old.
I recently toured Scandinavia over a six week period traveling 5,300 miles and the 3 litre engine returned an average consumption of 29.3 mpg which I was very pleased with.
Unfortunately on the return journey through Germany it dumped all of its coolant fluid. I managed to coax it back to Calais’ Eurotunnel terminal by constantly refilling the reservoir with water and was then recovered back home from the Folkestone terminal by the RAC.
The loss of coolant was identified by my local garage as being due to a failed Heater Matrix. This is the radiator behind the dashboard that supplies heating to the driver and passengers.
The cost of a replacement Matrix is roughly £600 inc. vat but because of its location the labour charges are expected to amount that least a minimum of 8 hours so all in a cost of in excess of £1,000.
Now if this failure had occurred in a Fiat Ducato Van carrying a three year warranty, the replacement part plus labour charges would be the subject of a warranty claim.
However, because the vehicle’s chassis has had a motorhome built onto it Fiat only offers a two year warranty in spite of the fact that the engine, gearbox and all the associated equipment at the front of the vehicle is not touched or modified in any manner during the construction of the motorhome’s habitation.
I find this inequitable, totally unfair and a disgrace bearing in mind that Fiat supply chassis to 88% of the European motorhome market.
I would add that this is the second failure of a part on the Fiat running gear when s steering rack hose failed.
In view of the age of the vehicle and the low mileage, neither of these failures can be afforded to fair wear and tear!
I would be interested to read if other owners of Fiat-based motorhomes have experienced similar issues in relation to potential warranty claims.
Say No to Fiat
As others would say, if I had the option of leaving no stars I would. I was in an accident with my Fiat 500X end of February 2019, today is the 24th June 2019 and I have just received a phone call from Fiat to say that the part the garage needs to fix my car isn't due to arrive into their warehouse in Italy until 4th July. This date has already changed several times. It was 24th April, then 14th June, then the 25th June and now the 4th July. I fully expect this date to change again. This was my first Fiat. Will I be buying one again? Absolutely not. Will i recommend a Fiat to friends and family? Absolutely not. I hope to get my car back soon so I can sell it for a company that understands customer service.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Upon ending my 3 year contract with Fiat, I received a bill for £852 for 'damage' to my car - this was a complete fabrication and completely went against Fiat's own 'wear and tear policy, which states that only 'significant abuse' to a car would incur a charge upon exit of the contract. I handed my car back in excellent condition after driving it for 3 years in central London - it had two superficial scratches on the bumper and slight scuffing of the alloys.
The member of staff who rang me up to discuss this bill was downright rude and abrupt - I had been a paying customer for 3 years and never missed a payment. I even recommended that two friends purchase their own fiat 500 cars. Despite my attempts to email Fiat to discuss this issue further, I simply have had no reply or acknowledgement that they had even received an email from me.
Their customer service is APPALLING and I will never, ever recommend that anyone purchase from them again.
Customer care Fiat hasn't been helpful…
Customer care Fiat hasn't been helpful ever. Whatever you ask on the phone the female call center agents will tell you to write an email. The answer is never helpful. Now I experience the same on Twitter.
I asked for tire sizes that I am allowed on my car I was told to take care for myself. No support. And they are famous for the reaction not answer again.
If possible I would like to give negative stars
DREADFUL
If I could give it no stars I would. Do not buy fiat. They my look lovely but customer service is terrible. Not only did my hydraulics go on my clutch within 2 years, but they did not provide a courtesy car and I had to pay to hire a car myself. After many telephone calls and emails we finally had a refund of part of this money. My main complaint now is that my agreement states I had GAP insurance and no one can tell me who with. Awful service. Wish I had never bothered to buy one.
