We all like to get value for money, and there's nothing worse than booking a Hotel or a Flight + Hotel (when booked together) and then finding it cheaper elsewhere, so we've come up with the following guarantee:

Be warned! I booked a hotel in Gibraltar through Expedia and had to pay a "cleaning fee" of £60 at the hotel as Expedia omit that from their advertising price to make it seem cheaper than it actually is. Even if it is mentioned by Expedia prior to travel it is misleading and confusing and should not be advertising at that price when it isn't correct. Looking at all the other reviews it looks like I am not alone!

The girl I spoke to tell my problem was not knowable at all. Did not seemed to listen and was rude.

Had to cancel a flight for June in mid April. Was told I’d be getting a £170 refund within 10 days.
Been chasing for over 7 weeks now and not even had a reply. No contact number so impossible to get hold of. Absolute farce, have to go through bank and try to get a charge back.
Do not recommend to anyone

Terrible company, don't use to book as if anything goes wrong you can't speak to anyone or have this resolved. Use credit card if you do book because you'll need to do a charge back.
A stay was booked on my account in nov 2025. I recieved no confirmation email from expedia, nothing from the hotel and no details regarding the free cancellation window coming shortly. To me I don't know who booked the stay and I have no evidence of it. I received a message from the hotel regarding the booking the day before the stay is due to start (but after the free cancellation) having not received anything from them in the 8 months between. I've asked for this to be cancelled and no charge to be made but expedia have been useless, the details given by the hotel are not correct so there is a lot of fraudent activity that is being supported/driven by expedia. Worst company there is. Use hotels.com or booking.com instead. I asked for a complaint to be raised but they didn't do that, they said I need to wait 24-48 hours which is after I would've been charged. Expedia are at fault here.

I booked a flight through Expedia. The flight was cancelled, and Expedia emailed me to say that my refund had been initiated.
Months later, I still had not received the refund.
I had to spend hours chasing Expedia. During that process, I was given multiple inconsistent explanations. At different points I was told that the refund would be processed by a later date, that I should contact the airline directly, that the airline had already released the money and that I should ask my bank to trace it, and then finally that the refund had apparently gone to an Expedia virtual card rather than to my own card.
Only after I repeatedly challenged the position and asked for proof of payment was a manual refund processed.

I have used Expedia to book holidays for many years and, until recently, I had always been satisfied with the service. Unfortunately, my latest experience has completely destroyed my confidence in the company.
In May, I attempted to book a two-night stay in Llandudno for the period 24–26 May. After completing the booking process, I checked my Expedia app, which clearly indicated that the reservation had not been completed successfully. Despite this, at 21:01 on 24th May, £241.20 was deducted from my bank account.
To make matters worse, when I checked the app again at 21:09—eight minutes after the money had been taken—the only message displayed was: "Here's where we left off." This clearly indicated that the booking process had not been completed. I took a screenshot of this message and submitted it as evidence to Expedia's customer service department.
I wrote to Expedia's customer service team on two separate occasions, providing all the relevant information and supporting evidence. Astonishingly, I did not receive so much as an acknowledgement, let alone a meaningful response. The complete lack of communication is unacceptable and demonstrates a staggering disregard for customer service.
The fact that Expedia has never attempted to explain why its system took my money while simultaneously indicating that no booking had been completed raises serious questions about the reliability of its booking platform. The silence from customer services only reinforces the impression that the company is unwilling to address obvious failures in its own systems.
What disappoints me most is not just the technical error, but the way it was handled. Every company can experience occasional system failures. The true measure of customer service is how those failures are resolved. In this case, Expedia's response appears to have been to simply ignore the customer.
I will never use Expedia again. I would strongly advise anyone booking through this company to keep screenshots of every stage of the booking process and carefully monitor their bank account. If something goes wrong, based on my experience, do not expect Expedia to respond or take responsibility.

Paid for luggage on my flight, however, when I recieved the information from EasyJet, no luggage was on the booking.
Additionally, we booked a flight+hotel package for a weekend away (3.5 days) the flight time on the last day was changed to a time that effectively removed the final day and cut down the holiday to a 2.5 day holiday, which now isn't worth the money we paid and we are no longer receiving the service we paid for.

I booked and paid bed and breakfast for 9 nights but Expedia booked me room only. Customer service couldn’t or wouldn’t help. Never again.

AWFUL COMPANY. Refused to RELOCATE my solo traveller son who found himself in one of the most dangerous streets in downtown Newark, whereby only vehicles could enter the 15 foot "safe" compound of the hotel. WARNED to NOT GO OUT AFTER DUSK, DON'T LEAVE HOTEL UNTIL LIGHT, then go by VEHICLE. Do not stand at any bus stops. Assaults, robberies, prostitution, car cruised by his taxi looking at his luggage, fentanyl users rolling around in street. Comfort Inn refused a refund for next 3 nights, EXPEDIA London were appalling, cost me 3 hours sitting on phone getting NOTHING - they would NOT ESCALATE - only supervisor was present and he was useless/could barely understand him, would not RELOCATE. Absolutely shocked at how they ignored a legal DUTY OF CARE to a pedestrian guest, who needed to use public transport. SHAME ON YOU EXPEDIA. Expedia rang the hotel, "Are you safe?" "Yes, we're safe". What do you THINK they are going to say. Typical take your money organisation then ditch you when it goes wrong. Would do less than one star. Could have relocated him somewhere safer. No, would not. Untrustworthy, unreliable and took the hotel's side and IGNORED their legal obligation to keep a minor SAFE.

I would give zero stars if I could!!
Payed for a flight, received a confirmation email and the evening before, I could check in.
Turns out, Expedia never issued a ticket!!!! No real person to speak to, just ai.
They did not communicate with me, that the ticket was never issued. I also never received my money back!! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Daylight robbery
Long story short, do not cancel your flight or change it if it was booked through them. The refunded credit from the airline is held with them and only they can book your new flight… when you try to book a flight with a credit they change their pricing adding an extra £200!!! I told him where did this come from he said new rates because you paid half ticket with credit so website gives a different itinerary… in what universe is that legal? Same flight ticket increase because you paid half of the ticket by credit (which is YOURS not theirs to hold in the first place) I called airline and they said their ticket price has been the same since the morning and they don’t see a price increase. Daylight robbery… AVOID never ever booking with them again. Only agreed to pay the extra rip off fee because I wanted to get my credit used and never deal with them again

Have been waiting since beginning of May for a response to my asking for a refund of £150.00 for a hotel stay I tried to cancel due to illness. I tried for 4 hours to try to cancel within the time frame before I was charged. Customer service was terrible couldn't speak to anyone all automated. Eventually found a number and spoke to someone who promised it had been sorted only to find the next day my money had been taken from my account. Emailed expedia and received ann email saying my query would be investigated. I have waited weeks and had fo email 2 or 3 times again and nothing. I will not be recommending this company to anyone.

Bought 2 flights to zurich from manchester, included in the booking was return carry on luggage for the two of us and a check in bag for one return journey. Both of which were not actually provided upon purchase and the check in bag was more expensive to book through swiss air. They flat out refused to provide the check in bag for the price that they had offered. It took 3 hours in support to get the carry on bags provided, I imagine I will be waiting on the refund for the carry on bags I had to purchase on their behalf to come through for months. Massive waste of time if you value your sanity you would just book direct through the airlines website. I know I will in the future.

Unfortunately can not give less than 1 star.
Cancelled a flight 1st March due to Iran war... after little or bland responses and no refund by mid may I had to go back to my credit card to claim against chapter 75.
Emirates claim they did refunds within 3 weeks so expedia holding onto peoples money.
I will never NEVER use them again

They rejected my payment, I had to phone my bank and confirmed with them nothing was wrong. Could not get through to a person from Expedia on phone unless you have a booking reference. Which I didn't have because they kept rejected my payment.
Tried the purchase again, which resulted in my card getting blocked, when talking to a person on the online chat they tried to book me onto different flights instead and then even a different location without checking to see what was wrong with going the way I had selected and advertised as available, not solve the issue. I bought half of the trip to get the itinerary number to amend it to sort flights. They couldn't. Tried to refund then they almost fought back against the refund.
DO NOT GO THROUGH EXPEDIA

AVOID.
Booked flights (hotel booked elsewhere with no issues), noted later that oddly I only received a confirmation for one flight (from aer lingus, not expedia). On my account I found NO evidence of either flight. After fighting to get human help I found my booking for BOTH flights had been cancelled and I was not informed.
I couldve turned up at the airport without a clue and had my whole holiday ruined. No compensation or assistance to rebook offered. Almost glad as it means I can avoid using this awful website - DO NOT USE

I tried to book the Star in Sussex but when the booking confirmation came through I was booked in The Star at Kingussie, Scotland. I used my own Mastercard to pay for the booking. The Star in Kingussie were very helpful but stated that the card used to pay the hotel was one from Expedia and mine card details did not appear. WHAT SORT OF AN OPERATION WORKS LIKE THIS. Of course I have no recourse to getting a refund from the Hotel, from Expedia or from the agent STAYFORLONG.
What is the connection between Expedia and Stayforlong, clearly a long arm away.
I will never use Expedia for any travel booking again, long live TRIVAGO.

I wish I had read the reviews before booking through Expedia. I trusted the company because it is such a well-known brand, and I never expected to experience problems like this.
I booked what I believed was a package holiday to Turkey for my family. I carefully selected the flights and hotel, but during checkout the website repeatedly crashed and reset. I had to enter my details several times before finally completing the booking and payment.
When I received the confirmation email, I was shocked to discover that I had apparently paid over £6,000 for the hotel only, with no flights included. This was completely different from what I believed I was booking.
I immediately contacted customer support. After spending around three hours on online chat and being passed between different representatives, I finally received a phone call. The representative was rude and dismissive, simply stating that there were no flights attached to the booking. I explained that the website had clearly malfunctioned during the checkout process, but my concerns were ignored.
I asked to escalate the matter to management, but they would only communicate through online chat. They repeatedly denied that there was any issue with their website or app and instead placed the blame entirely on me. They refused to investigate the technical problems I experienced or offer any meaningful resolution.
As a result, I have been left paying more than £6,000 for accommodation alone when my intention was to purchase a package holiday including flights. The entire experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing.
The customer service I received from such a large organisation was unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to carefully check every detail of their booking and confirmation before making payment.
They also refuse to give me their complaint department’s email address despite asking them a few times they lie to say they will email me and I can reply back to it but they never did the breaking so many rules this needs to be investigated by the regulators

Will mess up your booking payment so they can up you the price by £200 and see if they can get a booking fee from you. Con artists, its not even worth trying to get the booking back

Tried to book a package holiday, it literally won’t let me. Tried two different hotels, two different cards, still not working. In the process, it’s charged me for a random flight to Greece and nothing else. I now have to contact easyJet to cancel, which will probably leave me with a fee to pay for no reason whatsoever. Highly do not recommend wasting hours looking for a holiday package for it to not work and then spend hours talking to support to get nowhere. How they aren’t able to book a package over the phone, I don’t know!!
