NEVER use Expedia to book a holiday

NEVER use Expedia to book a holiday. Mt name was messed up on my ticket and they said 48 hours they would get back to me 96 hours later I contacted the airline who has heard nothing from Expedia... Cost me $1000 to fix the error. Horrible customer service and lies!

Impossible to speak to a human

I tried to book a flight and the Expedia website wasn't able to process my payment due to their error/glitch. Instead it put a hold on my credit card for the value of the flight for over a week, with no booking confirmation. I booked with Flight Hub and ended up paying $125 less for the same flight. The Expedia credit card hold for a contract that was never completed made my vacation difficult. After over 15 years of using Expedia, I will not use their service ever again.

Customer service is automated with no way of getting a refund if you don't have an itinerary number. It's just about impossible to reach a human on the phone and the automated online system is useless.

Expedia my this is not right.

Expedia
Has anyone been or seen or talked to the back room/ office.
This is a sacred place, once your information enters it doesn't come back out. Next time one of their representatives says this has to go to our back room/office be careful, be very careful, they say they are gathering information about settling your case, next time you call, next time over and over again. Hopefully you have a good credit card company like TD to take care of you, Expedia not an honest company.

We tried to book a flight 6 or 7 times but each time the site said it could not process the booking even though payments were taken (and subsequently had to be refunded each time and cancelled). Chat help was useless and could offer no explanation. Went to booking.com and first time the booking went through. Expedia tried to palm it off as a problem on the airline end. Said rates and flight details change all the time and that was the cause of the failure to complete....(!!@@&&&).

I had AMD-YVR flight booked

I had AMD-YVR flight booked. I received an email from flight operator about the cancellation. I kept telling expedia customer support team and they said flight is still confirmed. I called 3 times. Flight ended up getting cancelled and cs team not there to listen to customers. Such a joke in the name of service. They should have called the operator to confirm the cancellation rather than being lazy and make us do all the steps.

I am booking another ticket and would never book it through expedia.

Garbage

Garbage, never again. Their cancellation policy that you pay for, is awful. We travel a lot, but never again with Expedia. Worst experience from all booking agent sites.

Flight cancellation for any reason terms and conditions

Expedia has a cancellation policy of no penalty cost if cancelling within 24 hours of flight booked. First agent tells us it's the airline that doesn't honour free cancellation within 24 hours of booking. We called the airline. The airline rep says they allow free cancellation within 24 hours and that we have to cancel via Expedia. We called Expedia again and got Sam as the rep. He also said that the airline doesn't allow free cancellation within 24 hours of booking. We told Sam that's not true because we just called the airline. Sam then said it's US "expedia.com" that allows within 24 hours free cancellation but with Canada "expedia.ca" it's a 24 hour within CALENDAR day. When I asked Sam to provide the link that states CALENDAR day, he could not provide it. After TWO blatant lies, Sam will not honour the Expedia policy and insists on the $400 cancellation fee. We will never be booking through Expedia again for vacations, flights, hotels or anything. Other booking sites DO honour their free cancellation policy if done before a set deadline of booking. Expedia does not even deserve a 1 star.

This was thWARNING: FRAUDULENT PARTNER, STOLEN MONEY & EXPEDIA HUNG UP ON MEe worst travel experience of…

This was the worst travel experience of my life, enabled and then abandoned by Expedia.

BAIT-AND-SWITCH: I booked "12 York by CN tower" on Expedia. When I arrived, they forced me to a different, substandard building at 21 Iceboat Terrace.
STOLEN DEPOSIT: They coerced me into paying a cash deposit and promised in writing to refund it. They never did.
FAKE REFUND ID: To stop me from complaining, they gave Expedia a FAKE Transaction ID as "proof" they refunded me. My banks confirmed the ID is fraudulent.
EXPEDIA HUNG UP: After providing all of this irrefutable proof, I was escalated to an Expedia supervisor named Ali. Her final offer was travel credits for my stolen cash. When I told her that was unacceptable, SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
Expedia lists fraudulent partners, relays fake information from them, and when they are caught, their supervisors will hang up on you rather than take responsibility. Book elsewhere unless you want to risk being robbed.

Do not use the services they offer they currently screwed my parents out of 8K$ and refuse to do anything to rectify the issues... They've been arguing with them and Air Transat since Monday Feb 23rd about a package they purchased from Expedia and both companies have basically blamed eachother and are unwilling to do anything. Unless you have 10K$ to throw away do not use either company

i was scammed 600$ from a place called mehri suites in Toronto..Expedia hasn't done enough to rectify getting scammed 600$. I am a single dad of two boys and I csnt afford to lose 600$. Expedia won't admit that they did business with scammers and didnt do more to protect their customers. I feel robbed and pooped. The initial advertisement on expedia said that I could pay the damage deposit via credit card, e transfer or debit. When I was driving to Toronto, they messaged me and said that I had to send 600$ via PayPal. I dont use PayPal because I have been hacked on that app before. I reluctantly sent the 600$ because i was half way to Toronto and needed somewhere to sleep. They keep telling me to wait for the money, but it's been a month. It's pretty ridiculous at this point.

THE WORST!!

The worst there is. They apply their policy on top of the service provider's policy. This makes it impossible to cancel and get a refund or credit. It's basically theft if you don't pay attention. For example, you book a flight with United Airlines and you're allowed to get a refund in case of cancellation. Because you booked with Expedia, you're no longer eligible to receive a refund. Money gone. All of it. Try getting a hold of them, check their website, there is no way to reach them. It's unbelievable. We've boycotted them after we lost thousands of dollars which we would have otherwise received if we had booked hotels and flights directly. They do however have one good thing or two about them, if you're doing multiple bookings, they're stored in one place (not a big deal but still somewhat convenient), also I notice you get better deals if you're doing multi-city flight bookings. It's the worst option if you need to cancel or change plans, they'll rob you. Buyer beware.

Buyer Beware of the Gotcha

I worked with a lady that spoke very nice named Gena G. She booked a group trip through Expedia TAAP what a nightmare… little did I know when she took our credit card over the phone that she was booking a nonrefundable hotel room reservation… that would not have been bad if it was a one night stay for $100 but it was a multiple night stay in Italy for over $1700 Canadian. When a health issue created the need for a refund, wouldn’t you know it, no meaningful assistance. We are now fighting with Expedia through a third-party who could care less. My only warning to potential travelers is caveat emptor. Get ready to lose some money and they’ll do it with a smile.

Never again

After not processing the flight portion of my trip, they have made no efforts to help release the preauthorization hold on my credit card for the flight that was never booked. I've waited 3 days so far, and it may be up to 10 days before the preauthorization is released.
The pre-authorization is for more than 6k and the hold is making it impossible to rebook my trip. Expedia - never ever again!

Unacceptable handling of a confirmed reservation

I booked two hotels through Expedia approximately six weeks before travel both reservations were confirmed and documented. Two days before departure I checked my account and found my second weeks hotel booking had disappeared and when I contacted Expedia I was told it had been cancelled. I made it clear that I had not cancelled the reservation and asked them to reinstate the booking. I was then informed by them that unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. As the cancellation was not initiated by me I expected Expedia to resolve the issue at no additional cost. Instead after placing me on hold they offered to make an exception by rebooking the same hotel at a new rate. At first it sounded reasonable until I realized the new charge was in addition to the original price increasing the cost by about 50%. I stated this was unacceptable and requested a proper resolution. After a further delay I was offered $100 discount and pressured to accept immediately. I declined and advised that I would not continue doing business with them, and I secured alternative accommodation through another provider. Lo and behold when week two rolled around the original hotel contacted me asking if we would be arriving! They were not aware of any cancellation!
I had to explain the situation to avoid being charged and lucky for me the hotel was understanding.

This experience reflects extremely poor handling of a confirmed reservation and an unacceptable attempt to shift the financial burden onto the customer with no apology from Expedia. From my perspective this situation felt highly suspicious it seemed as though Expedia cancelled the reservation and then attempted to pressure me into paying significantly more at the last minute. The entire experience left me feeling that this may be a deliberate tactic to force customers into making expensive on the spot decisions. Ie. “A scam”?
I won’t be using Expedia again.

Avoid at all cost!!! Thieves!

First time booking a car through a third party, it caught my attention as the booking is cheaper than the other providers. I booked a SUV rental through their website prior my travel , I arrived to their car rental provider and saying the SUV is not available and offered a smaller car. It doesn't meet the requirements for the luggage space so they offered an upgrade to a mid-size SUV (Already a bait and switch), after a day of driving the car, we noticed there is something wrong and we returned the car. The Car rental provider honored the return and was charged for a day, meanwhile the Expedia booking still charged us for the week of usage!!!!! I have talked to several of their representatives and most of them are like bots and doesn't understand the situation and doesn't want to return the booking fee of a week. These are thieves I'm telling you and no customer service.

If I can rate these as 0 stars I would!!!!

If I could go with negative numbers I would. First I have been scammed by one of their customer service agent who gave me a phone number to cancel my flight but it ended up as a scam number and they scammed me for 900CAD for cancellation fee for Airtransat flight. I have figured by myself that I have been scammed by them and I called Expedia. They had me on hold for more than 4 hours overall and none of them were aware of the existence of their other colleagues. The call reference number does not have any meaning for them.
