Software good, portal not so good...

The software is very good for Windows. Although the warnings for extending the license are somewhat too much “there”. As for macOS the Cyber Security (Pro) edition is not that well optimized, GUI wise for the most part, but it let my MacBook use much more processing power than needed (Power Nap for example). Even after the recommended tweaks found on forums.

As for the ordering proces it’s quite ok. But, the amound of text on the webpages during the ordering is distracting and way too much. Advertisments on the side of the summary page (just before paying)... not necessary.

Then: accounts. When extending a license and having an ESET account, it’s best practice to login before the payment proces (all the necessary details like address data are prefilled). But when using my.eset.com to manage licenses for example, it requires another login. In both sessions there’s no use of the same cookie, making multiple logins a must.
Besides that, still no 2FA is implemented for my.eset.com. Not so secure, especially since it’s possible through this page to manage systems which have remote security enabled in Internet Security.

Summary: great software on itself, especially for Windows. For macOS it needs a big overhaul to match macOS designing language. As for all the extra’s like the portal: this needs some security improvements... 2FA is these days more a requirement than optional.

ESETis truly users friendly

ESET is truly very easy to install and prolong. The renewal is so easy that when you buy the product THEY take care of the new licence and the update of the anti virus
However, the last upgrade last year did not work
I cant really assess how good the antivirus is as I use this computer as a personal aid at home, but to me what they offer is sufficient. Eset was recomended to me by a specialised soft and hardware shop.

Have to wait half an hour for a licence…

Have to wait half an hour for a licence key after purchasing it via the site...
Meanwhile started the installation which cannot continue...
And had to uninstall previos virus software.. so in effect I have to wait having a vulnerable computer...
