Filthy battered cars
First car was filthy and had a flat tyre, clearly obvious to the branch
Second car was also filthy, it had seven areas of damage to the bodywork. We were embarrassed to drive either of them even after I spent hours cleaning them.
The car was in a disgusting state
The car was in a disgusting state, full of dog hair, dandruff all over passenger seat and smelt. The car was given to us with damage down the passenger side. Later to be blamed on us. They did not do their checks. The car had been brought in the day we took it everything was rushed as they wanted to go home now we are victims of their incompetence. My daughter is a new driver had had a crash the day before through no fault of her own and now this. She has had to go the doctors due to panic attacks caused from it and now enterprise have caused her more undue stress. This will be taken further with legal action and thorough reports from cctv and documents from the incompetent staff. Who were quite frankly rude and unprofessional at Southport Norwood road branch. NEVER in my life will i go here again!!!!!
Collection and drop off staff issues
I rent car regularly from Enterprise I have noticed over the last year, whenever you go into a branch to either collect a car of return a car, all the branch staff are on the telephone.
When you approach the counter they do not acknowledge you but keep looking at their computer screen or anything to avoid eye contact. It is strange that when they do finally decide to end the call and deal with you the telephones are not constantly ringing!
As a customer this make me feel like I am an imposition.
Why do Enterprise now have to have a second telephone number and know who your employer is. I personally do not have a 2nd telephone number or a next of kin. I am also not willing to disclose who my employer is to a 3rd party.
Also now when you book a type of car you used to have a good idea what you would get now it seem you are just given what they want to give you. My last rental should have been and automatic Passat what is got was an automatic Renault Symbioz, I wanted the Passat for the larger engine and comfort as I was travelling over 500miles. The small engine in the renault was changing gear all the time and had nowhere near the comfort you would expect from a VW Passat.
Also when I dropped the car off I was questioned on where was the parcel shelf, I explained there was not one in the car when I collected it, this was met with they would have to check with the supplying branch. When I said no problem I have a witness to the fact there was no parcel shelf the attitude became okay thats fine.
I have an enterprise account which they promise free car upgrades has anyone ever had an upgrade, in fact I have only ever been down graded.
Either fraudulent or incompetent
Renting cars is basically a front for this company to try to fraud you out of money. I have hired a car with Enterprise twice in my life. First time after I dropped it off I noticed some significant charges on my credit card. After enquiring they said that I hadn't returned the car. Eventually they agreed I had and refunded the fee. Second time it was through an RAC temporary car replacement scheme and after returning it I first was charged an erroneous £30 which was then refunded once I enquired, and then a couple of weeks after the hire I received a letter saying the car had a windscreen chip and gouged tyre, which it didn't. If you can't run the business profitably through the normal routes of hire charges, then increase your hire charges. Don't constantly cause customers grief by trying to con them out of whatever extra money you can
Untransparent use of personal data
When I went to collect the car, I was refused on grounds that I failed their data check. But they could not tell me what their problem with my data was. They referred me to the data company that Enterprise uses, who told me they are not happy with the calls they are getting from Enterprise customers referred to them, because they provide data and it's Enterprise who are responsible for what they do with the data. But Enterprise customer services could only repeat that I failed the data check and couldn't look at why. Completely untransparent use of personal data about people. Not acceptable.

I’d give a 0 star rating if it were possible.
I have been given the runaround all day long with this poxy company and still no hire car after being told when my car was taken in by recovery that someone would contact me very shortly from Enterprise to arrange my car hire . After my chasing them up this evening to be told they had only just been notified of (absolute bull) I will now have to wait until the next day therefore missing important hospital appointments today because of there incompetence. I do hope for their sake I receive the car tomorrow because if I don’t and have to do more chasing up with them I will be making a huge complaint to higher authority against them and seeking reasonable compensation, how they are allowed to be a business is beyond me they should be struck off .

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and shock regarding my recent experience at your Salisbury branch. As a loyal, long-term customer who has always chosen Enterprise for my vehicle hire needs, I have never encountered such poor service until now.
Upon arriving to collect my vehicle, I discovered it was damaged. When I pointed this out to the member of staff, I was met with complete indifference. I was told that this was the only vehicle available and that if I did not want it, there were no other options, essentially forcing me to accept a damaged car. Because I was so far from home, I felt I had no choice but to take it for the three days I required it.
As a business owner myself, I pride myself on how I treat my customers; I would never provide a substandard service or product to those who support my business. To be treated with such disregard is something I find deeply unprofessional and, frankly, unforgettable. I expected a much higher standard of care and courtesy from Enterprise, and I am saddened that this experience has significantly damaged my perception of your company.
Great service, would use again.
Needed a big van for a house move. Easy ordering process online and picked it up locally. Very competitive price and the staff at the Merthyr branch were very helpful during the hand over. Great service and would definitely use again.
Collected car which was filthy
Collected car which was filthy. Wasn't told how to start it etc I had to Google how to start and work electric hand brake. No water in windscreen washer bottle. Had to return early as only open half day Sunday
The guy at high wycombe Bridge street…
The guy at high wycombe Bridge street offered us a different car. We had booked the car for £79. It was bumped up £215.00.None of the competitors recommended Enterprise. We don't normally book with Enterprise. He wasn't in the next day. This is one day for hiring the car. All the other places tell you how much you pay. Enterprise doesn't. Beware they make you sign stuff once you've agreed.
DO NOT USE! Took my money, left me stranded, and refused the car!
I am absolutely disgusted with the service I received. I booked and paid for a car today, but when I arrived to collect it, they declined my booking for no valid reason. Because of this, I was completely left in a pickle and couldn’t pick up my family from the airport as planned. Taking someone's money and then stranding them at the desk is entirely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and book elsewhere!
A goodwill gesture that ended up costing more
Looking at the reviews on here proves that this car company and its staff are rude, arrogant and totally in competent. Will never ever try to use them again.
Enterprise offered me a 25% goodwill discount for a future rental. When I tried to use it, every quote I received was higher than what I paid before, even with the discount applied. A goodwill gesture that results in a higher price is not goodwill.
I was given contradictory explanations throughout. I was told pricing couldn’t be overridden, then told broker prices could be matched. I was told prices were the same across locations, yet also told those locations couldn’t be booked or matched. None of it made sense, and none of it helped resolve the issue.
The whole process felt like upselling disguised as customer care. Very disappointing experience, lack of customer care and all about salemanship. Awful company.

Ordered a large van (to relocate my daughter) a month beforehand
Went to pick it up at 9:30 only to be told that they didn’t have one as none had been brought back on time! Got offered a small van which of course was no good.
The guy in there couldn’t have cared less - he said there may be one at 2pm but we couldn’t risk that as we were doing a 5 hour drive!
Had to cancel and go elsewhere which cost me another £94 as they only had a Luton. I emailed a complaint 5 days ago asking for the £94 but, surprise surprise, no email back.
They don’t lose out tho as they fine the late returners so it doesn’t matter to them when their disappointed customers have no choice but to cancel and be refunded. Shoddy business and I would NOT use them ever again!
Awful
Booked a van for the Saturday until the Monday as I was moving house from Caerphilly to Birmingham. I had to get a train down from Birmingham to Caerphilly on the day, the van was booked from 12. Upon completion of the check in, I received a call 30 minutes prior to the time I was meant to be hiring the van, they said that they no longer have the van available. Wasted 40 pound to get down here and was unable to take my stuff to my new house, ridiculous.

Had a good experience from this car rental the staff in Oldham was lovely thank you very
Preston and Bamber Bridge excellent
I can only assume experience depends on branch location. I rented a van and a medium sized car from the Preston, Lancashire branch in May of this year and had excellent vehicles and service. I also rented a prestige car yesterday from the Bamber Bridge (Preston) branch and can honestly say the vehicle and staff were brilliant. All booked and paid for easily online. Would definitely recommend and use these branches again
Rented a couple of times from…
Rented a couple of times from Enterprise with mixed results. The first time everything was ok until I received a notice of an admin charge for a parking ticket. They informed me they had given my details to the car park owners. I never received the parking fine. When I queried the fine with Enterprise, the parking charge was paid by me over the car park app which I had proof of. I sent them the proof but they still tried to pursue me for the admin charge.
For the second booking I was asked to arrive 15 mins early as the office closed at midday on the Sunday. I arrived 20 mins early and had checked in online beforehand. I was still made to wait 40 mins before eventually getting upgraded to a slightly better car. On the walk round the Enterprise rep noted that one of the tyre pressure sensors was low, after inspecting the tyre she said the sensor just needed recalibrating and re set the pressure sensors monitor. After driving the car for 5 minutes the low pressure sensor came back on and I had to fill the tyre with air. The next day was the same and it appeared the tyre had an existing slow puncture. I had taken photos of the low pressure warning the day before and informed Enterprise. They accepted that the slow puncture was existing when I dropped the car off.
I have tried to book another car recently but left it later to book, still over 24 hours notice. The price for the same car over the same period has gone up by £100??
I booked for a later date to see if there was a difference and the price had dropped to the original value. So they charge £100 for a later booking? That and their hidden excess waiver charges and roadside charges has put me off using them again, there’s more hidden charges than Ryanair! I’ve now booked with SixT and got my rental much cheaper.
Enterprise Hamilton
The process was made very easy. The pick-up and drop off service was of great benefit to me. Staff were very efficient and helpful and kept contact with me as and when required. I was very pleased with the service provided in the Hamilton Branch.

Hired with Europcar in Barcelona.
Hired with Europcar in Barcelona.
I wasn’t given a condition report to sign.
Once out of the underground car park I could see the car was covered in dents and scrapes so I photographed and videod the damage and sent it to them on the day.
On return I once again wasn’t given a condition report to sign.
They still tried to charge me for existing damage on return in spite of my evidence.
Absolute charlatans.
