First time using Elmhurst… would be happy to again!

This was my first time using Elmhurst Windows, though I was aware they have been there for many years, and I wanted to use a local business to replace and update my windows.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier, the price quoted was very good (and cheaper than other quotes), communications were clear and easy, and the surveyor visit and fitting was arranged at a time that suited my timeline and availability. The installers had many years experience with Elmhurst, were friendly, tidy and did a great job. Would happily recommend and use again.

We replaced 7 windows and the French doors. The price was very competitive and the fitters were brilliant. They worked non stop for two and a half days. They did a fabulous job. They arrived when they said they would, taking care to minimise the disruption, not only to the surrounds of the windows but also the rest of the rooms as they were working.

Once again

Once again, surprise surprise, Elmhurst isn't responding to a request for a genuine service report. They haven't yet acknowledged or replied to my 3 attempts on getting my front bedroom window not closing. Just not good customer after-sales service or good manners really, verging on ignorance!

Fantastic windows

I have just had new windows on my conservatory and the service from Elmhurst was excellent. The windows all have blinds inside too which I didn't k ow existed. My conservatory is so much warmer now.

Abysmal after sales service.

The windows were installed in 2021. Since then the property has been experiencing damp problems. A damp surveyor has identified that the absence of trickle vents in the double glazing is a contributory factor. I have contacted Elmhurst and they have refused to install trickle vents, they have also stated that any installation of trickle vents will negate the guarantee.

Martin, as you have not left a surname, we cannot locate you in our database. We are not aware of a Martin that we installed in 2021. If you genuinely have issues then please contact the office and we will be more than happy to help.

Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

Absolute shambolic customer service and client care. Job has not even been finished due to problem with bedroom window and now we are left with no window sill at the downstairs back door various other snagging bits. This has been over 6 weeks !! Richard was even supposed to come out to us to apologise etc but he even failed to turn up and then admitted had forgot.
Complete joke !!!!

I am extremely pleased with the service I've received from start to finish.
The fitters of my new front door were extremely friendly and professional. Every bit of rubbish was cleaned up and taken away. Door looks fantastic.
Door was fitted on time no problems at all.
Henry from the sales team kept me up to date from purchasing the door to fitting

Elmhurst Windows.

Three times we've had Elmhurst products and each time the service has been brilliant. Diane Cooper the sales lady, was very helpful and explained everything in detail and answered our questions.
The installation team, Paul, Tom and Richard worked hard each time and did an excellent job every time. They left everything clean and tidy and did not leave any rubbish from packaging etc,
Would strongly recommend this company if you want good quality products and great service.

Carry On Up The Elmhurst-Windows Ltd (Leeds)

Carry On Up The Elmhurst
Based on a true Story….No Communication throughout… Critics rate 0 out of 5…

Scene1: 26/03/21 Contract signed for 22 windows with a £3k deposit. A week later the surveyor arrives holding a sheet of paper with approx. 11 windows to measure?

Scene2: 22 Windows ordered with an external finish in silver/Grey foil Wrap as per the sales sample provided. A ‘special order’ that would take 16 weeks.

Scene3: 27/08/21 The installation date arrives and the fitters advise that all the windows have been measured incorrectly – the frames are too large for the window openings! The customer agrees for the openings to be made a little wider rather than waiting another 16 weeks.

Scene4: Hurray, the windows are in (apart from one that was way too big!) As the fitters begin to remove the external packaging tape, they reveal patches of white on the coloured frames? Elmhurst’s had spray painted and not foil wrapped the frames and the tape was pulling the paint off! But not to worry, the fitter had arranged for a touch up brush and paint pot to be sent to the customers address!
Richard was made aware and he admitted that he tried to match the foil wrap colour by spraying the new white frames as he couldn’t get hold of the foil wrap? Why wasn’t the customer made aware and given the choice then?

Scene5: 09/09/21 Richard and the Sales Mgr. arrive onsite to view the damaged window frames and offer a discount to leave them in or provide a full replacement. The customer requested a full replacement to match the sample shown during the sales visit. Richard then requested an interim payment of £6k. After consideration the customer handed over another £6k and requested a replacement in the Spring of 22 due to the winter months approaching – Giving Richard more than a reasonable time to order the replacement windows.

Scene6: The customer tried contacting Richard throughout March’22 but to no avail. On the 14/04/22, the Sales Mgr. advised of an installation date – Sometime in August (another 4 months to wait?).

Scene7: No communication from Elmhurst’s and August arrives… Certain that Richard has this one in the bag as he resolves ‘Customer complaints fairly, without delay (according to his website). The customer requested an installation date - to be advised that the frames had not been ordered and they wanted to come out and measure again.

Scene8: During October’22 a fitter arrived to re-measure. The customer wasn’t made aware he wanted to come inside and wasn’t home. Richard then advised that this may delay the installation! Well… this is only 13 months since Richard came onsite and 18 months since the original contract was signed.

Scene9: After a few more weeks and no contact from Richard. The customer requested a refund in full as Elmhurst had not fulfilled the contract and tried to resolve this within a reasonable time period. The windows that Richard was going to scrap would be made available for collection at a future point.
We have since been ignored by Richard and left with 21 of 22 windows, one with a cracked frame, another has a dropped window pain, one that is now letting water in, some that are hard to open and plus the outer damaged frames that have this missing paint! OH and no refund whatsoever….

There is a common theme when you review the feedback that Elmhurst are renowned for ‘No Communication’ and for those who think they are ‘great’ then you are clearly the lucky few.

The End – not quite!
