Terrible for matches, no matter how I change search critia it kept giving me matches 150+ miles away. You can't put a person on "hold" without liking their profile, so if their's is incomplete (ie no... See more

Before You Join eHarmony, Read This First
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because I wish someone had warned me before I signed up.
Like many other reviewers, my biggest issue was the auto-renewal. I never intended to continue my membership because I had stopped using the service long before my subscription expired. I saw the renewal email but genuinely believed that if I didn't want to continue, I didn't need to do anything. I did not realise my membership would automatically renew for another 12 months.
When I discovered what had happened, I contacted customer support immediately and explained the situation. I asked them to cancel the renewal and delete my account. My bank initially blocked the renewal payment, so no payment was successfully taken at that time. Despite explaining that I had not intended to renew and had not used the renewed membership at all, I was told that I was still required to pay £178.80 for another year's subscription. My account was then blocked until the payment was made.
Eventually, I decided to pay £178.80 simply to put an end to the dispute. It was not because I agreed with the outcome, but because I wanted to move on.
What happened next was just as disappointing.
When I first purchased my subscription the previous year, I received a payment confirmation almost immediately. This time, after paying £178.80, I received nothing. No receipt. No payment confirmation. No acknowledgement that my payment had been received.
Concerned that something had gone wrong, I logged into my account and found that it had been unlocked. I also confirmed that there was no outstanding balance. Because I had received no confirmation from eHarmony, I recorded a screen video showing my account status for my own records.
The following day, I was still waiting for some form of confirmation—an email, a receipt, or even a brief acknowledgement that my payment had been received. Instead, there was complete silence.
When I tried to log in again, my account had been deleted.
This was particularly frustrating because I had already informed eHarmony that, now the payment had been made, I had changed my mind and wished to keep my account. I intended to delete it myself later if I chose to do so. That email appears to have been ignored.
So, from my perspective, eHarmony accepted my annual payment, provided no receipt or payment confirmation, did not respond to my latest email, and deleted my account without any communication.
Looking back, if I had read the reviews about the auto-renewal before joining, I would never have chosen eHarmony.
To make matters worse, I did not find the service particularly useful. In my personal experience, other dating platforms offered a better overall experience and much clearer subscription management.
If you are considering joining eHarmony, please read the subscription terms carefully, understand exactly how the auto-renewal works, and read recent customer reviews before signing up.
I hope my experience helps someone avoid paying £178.80 for a service they no longer use.
I cancelled my membership on the same…
I cancelled my membership on the same day I joined.I was led to believe I was getting a discounted rate for 3months,then had the option to cancel.
When I received their confirmation it stated I was getting 3 months at discounted rates, then normal rates for a further 9 months. They also added £3 admin charges to monthly payments.
Although I had the right to cancel within 14 days by law, they decided to take £65 from my bank account for a cancellation charge.I instructed my bank and was refunded. But it didn’t stop there eharmony contested this and my bank pay them.I was very annoyed with my bank and this money was refunded back to me.Eharmony then threatened me with bailiffs.I told them I will see them in court.Today my bank had told me eharmony are demanding the money from them again.
I will now seek legal action against this disgusting company.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.This is the worst dating site.
Be very aware of subscription renewal
Be very aware of subscription renewal. They will send one low key email, very easy to miss. No text, no follow-up message...I wonder why? £££!
The new rate is very high and a full 12 months are taken in one lump.
Any enquiries are delt with by obviously scripted replies. I guess AI is used.
I live in a densely populated area, but only get likes from people 100+ miles away...utterly useless.
I do not recommend paying a premium here..absolutely not worth it!
I'm being pragmatic, this not a rant.
Theives
They take your money, don't allow you to cancel your subscription, then send it on to debt collection.
Shisters
Very Unhappy Customer…
My account was not working properly for over 2 months because of some connection on their end. Even though I contacted them 3 times during that period they still will not give a refund or cancel my subscription. I feel like I have been communicating with a Bot and not a real person.
Am very very disappointed with their customer service and will be telling people that i know. It seems they only after the money and don't care about the customer at all...
Beware the 14 day cancellation option
Signed up for 6 months as they entice you in with a 60% discount on their pricing. I paid £77. They offer you the chance to withdraw from the contract within 14 days and will refund - albeit with a potential deduction if you have started using the service. Acceptable at this point. So when I decided to cancel as tbh there seemed to be few people available on the site, you’re suddenly told that the profile analysis is worth £135 and that the difference between that and what you paid on joining is taken into account. Net result a refund of about £6 and immediate deletion of profile before advising you of this paltry figure. An option to stay if you want to should be provided before they do this. I probably would have left the profile there but frankly the site didn’t leave me feeling good. They certainly throw all the T&C’s at you during this process.
Feeling cheated - use at your peril.
Just joined but found it not user…
Just joined but found it not user friendly.. can't change filters easily and scanning profiles is very slow difficult and unwieldy. It's sister site Match .com is more user friendly.
an authentic sight with good screening
Absolute waste of money
Absolute waste of money. Won't ever go near it again. They changed the system. Once you've viewed someone you have to choose to like or remove. If you remove you can't see them again so therefore browsing becomes limited. It's a rip off
Dire Dating Site.
When you try to cancel your subscription on same day of signing up after going on there and there being nobody on there, you get charged £65 for a dating profile report you didn’t ask for. Then you try to talk to somebody about reinstating your membership and get ignored. Dire dating site. Terrible customer service.
Abysmal site is the only word that…
Abysmal is the only word that fits this review for this site. The money I have wasted . When I do get a very rare message stating " you have a match" log on to chat. I log on only to get " this profile cannot be located ". What is wrong with their site. Save your money, go elseware.
Not to be trusted
This app is useless if you say you don't want contact with people over saying 30 miles it still shows you people 100s of miles away, you cancel within the 7 day cancellation period, they don't act on it, and keep going after your money. THEY con artists, also they don't answer any of your questions
Like many people I would give a 0…
Like many people I would give a 0 rating if possible. This company does not keep women safe, they only reply to requests for help or concerns with AI generated messages saying you have to continue to pay for your subscription (and yes I have kept those emails should anyone from this company contest this review) Appalling service.
Bait and Switch! Waste of Money
Before you have a paid subscription, you are flooded with potential matches and messages. Then, after you pay the exorbitant fee for a ridiculous one time lump sum, your matches reduce down to nearly nothing. This feels very predatory and a disgusting practice to exploit people who are looking for genuine connection and to make an investment in their future. Shame on this company. Shame on the developers. This is ridiculously exploitative in this day and age when there are a myriad of other platforms to chose from, but you turn here because of the longstanding company name. Gross. I wish I could dispute the charge with my credit card company as a SCAM.
I wish I read the reviews before…
I wish I read the reviews before signing up. An experience new to me and you would have thought that such a company would be empathetic and sympathetic! They get you to do a personality test which should be standard for such a sight! I cancelled within two days and was charged £65.00. I then requested my account be set up and I’d pay the rest monthly (so a years sign up). This was not possible they expected me to loose the £65.00 and re-sign for another year. Absolutely disgraceful.
Payment options trap you and even in…
Payment options trap you and even in the 14 day cooling off period, you won't get a refund for the 'compatability test'. Complete waste of money.
