This tour was life-changing. I would do this tour again because we got to experience SO much to only have 10 days. I had a big group of 37 (chaperones included) and can say the trip ran smoothly. Luckily our flights were well paced and on time, our Tour Director Rika san was amazing, and we got to visit 5 different cities in 10 days! There's a lot of walking on this tour, but it's well worth it. One of my favorite experiences on tour was customizing our own chopsticks as really cool souvenirs to bring home! Had I traveled to Japan on my own, I don't know that I would've considered a gold-leaf chopstick activity, but thanks to EF myself and my students were able to experience this! The bullet train was also a really cool experience! I have no regrets having gone on this tour and would whole-heartedly recommend it to a colleague. Just try not to go in July or August because Japan is really hot AND humid. It's doable because that's when I went, but if you can help it, that's my only recommendation.

Awesome tour
Great trip! Be prepared to walk 10 to 15 miles a day.

Love the old markets Tokyo was great too
Wonderful!!
All of my students had a good time. Awesome tour director who went above and beyond.
It was good everything that was done was beautiful
Safe and a great place for kids to growth, socialization skills, and learn about other cultures.
The experience wasn’t stressful at all
We had an amazing experience in Japan! Our tour guide was very understanding and made sure everyone stayed informed throughout the trip. She was always willing to answer our questions and was incredibly helpful. The hotels were fantastic and honestly exceeded my expectations. I also loved the itinerary and excursions—they were educational, unique, and fun. One of my favorite parts was having guided tours first and then being given time to explore the areas on our own. It was the perfect balance of structure and independence and allowed us to really experience each destination. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience!
It was fun to see another culture and how they live
Well organized. Group size of 40 + was too large. Buffet meals worked out best to suit variety of picky eaters who invariably waste food. Loved Japan
Great excursions and experiences.
Great activities planned and lots of shrines and temples were toured. Great to see more than just Tokyo.
My son had a wonderful experience with EF Educational Tours. At first, I was a little nervous about letting my 14-year-old travel with a student group, but the trip exceeded my expectations. The teachers who traveled with the students were amazing, very communicative, supportive, and responsive throughout the entire trip, and sharing pictures every day. Knowing that they kept parents informed and were always available made me feel comfortable and reassured. I am grateful for the experience and would highly recommend EF to other families.
This is an incredible tour that maybe has a little too much emphasis on shrines and temples. By the end of the tour, students were pretty done with some of those. Overall, I had countless students reflect on their experience and how incredible it was for them and their growth. There were a few places that I believe would make this tour better and I really hope I get the chance to work with EF to make some of these tours better. Ueno Park was just one of a few places that could have been explored more. There was a zoo, shopping, gardens, museums, and so much more to explore. I also believe there could have been a deeper exploration around the Kanazawa and Takayama regions. This is still a tour I would highly recommend to anyone.
Amazing experience with beautiful and tasty food, amazing scenery, cultural experience, and the BEST guide
Worth every penny for when things can go bad, EF has you covered the whole time so you can travel stress free.
Great food, informative local guides, great bus drivers, pleanty of shopping and new places to discover and enjoy. It also included one really hot day (90 +),a super rainy day (1.5 inches) and an earthquake (2.5, pretty mild, which we experiences from the 10th floor of our hotel).
