Eden Fitness, Ealing — Avoid Entirely

Grossly overrated and not worth a fraction of the membership fee. The pool is laughably small — more oversized bathtub than lap pool — and perpetually overcrowded. Staff range from indifferent to actively unpleasant, with basic courtesy appearing entirely optional. More troubling is a palpable undercurrent of racism in how members are treated: certain people are greeted warmly and assisted promptly while others are consistently ignored or addressed with barely concealed condescension.

My own experience confirmed every concern. After swimming, I placed my wet towel on a wooden rail near the sauna heater while using the jacuzzi. Membership director Pooma then approached — with a colleague in tow for effect — and loudly accused me of creating a fire hazard, claiming a soaking wet towel could “burst into flames.” This is self-evidently absurd; the dry timber surrounding the heater presents an infinitely greater risk. The intervention was plainly designed to humiliate me in front of other members, and it succeeded on that front.

The front desk encounter that followed was equally contemptible. Having already paid approximately £350 for a 90-day membership plus locker fees, I asked about extending by five days. I was quoted £30 per day — £150 total — for a club that advertises monthly access at £85. The arithmetic is not the point; the intent to humiliate was transparent.

To cap it all, my membership was subsequently cancelled without explanation and a promised refund has never materialised. Director Charles Stephen Bourne is blatantly dishonest and bears direct responsibility for both. No explanation, no follow-up, no accountability whatsoever.

Other reviewers have documented identical behaviour over many years — the same individual, the same pattern. When I sought contact details for the owner, staff refused, volunteering only that he lives in Dubai and is unreachable. He has held the directorship since 2003. That tells you everything you need to know about the culture this establishment has cultivated.

They turned off the water fountain years ago but conveniently sell water at the front desk. The management treats members with contempt with greed being the primary motivation.

Avoid entirely.

I had initially left a positive review before becoming a member, but unfortunately my experience changed very quickly after joining. Within just a week, I noticed a significant shift in the reception staff’s attitude, which became unwelcoming and unprofessional.

Another major concern is the lack of proper safeguarding measures between male and female members, which made me feel uncomfortable during my time there.

Due to these issues, I decided to cancel my membership. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this gym based on how things are managed

Good gym with decent equipment and free weights section, along with plenty of cardio machines. The pool/sauna/steam room facilities are good.

My only negative is the showers in the changing room could do with an upgrade to give it a more spa-like feeling. I.e. new shower heads and thermostat valves, currently comes out like a hose pipe with not the best pressure and not much choice on temperature.

Staff at reception are also very friendly and not had the issues other reviews have experienced with rudeness.

I have been a member for many years and the quality of staff there is really important and keeps me staying.

This is the difference unlike other gym who lack personal interactions and the importance of connection. Dan in particular engaging with members and offering support and advice and most importantly noticing you, when you come through the doors and on the gym are; taking that time and interest in you and your gym journey.

I’ve been a member of Eden Fitness for over 10 years, and it continues to impress me. The gym is always clean, welcoming, and well looked after. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, creating a supportive environment that makes training enjoyable. The instructors are fantastic – knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in helping members reach their goals. It’s rare to find a gym that maintains such high standards year after year, and Eden Fitness truly does. Highly recommended!

Fabulous facilities especially the pool! The classes are great especially RawHit with Simone. All the staff are really helpful and friendly.

My two friends and I visited Eden Fitness to swim, and the gym trainer with beard told us we were taking up too much space. The pool having seven lanes, we only used two for the three of us. Before that day, the swim coach yelled at us to leave the pool, saying, "Don’t you see we’re starting a session?"Rather asking calmly. We’re paying around £70 per month for this kind of treatment, which is not worth it at all. Their customer service is terrible and they are extremely rude

the Eden fitness gym, pool, steam, and sauna, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The facilities, such as the pool, steam room, and sauna, were quite nice and provided a relaxing atmosphere. However, I must admit that the gym equipment seemed outdated and in need of an upgrade.

There was leak a few times and short dryer was not working many times , maintenance will take a long time to fix any issues, even showers was cold a few times, sauna door was not fixed for more than month , even the steps where you go to the changing room is damaged, this took ages to fix ,

, I was disappointed with the attitude of the staff from the membership department. I encountered some rudeness and unprofessional behavior, which left a negative impression on me.

When you ask the front office about membership freeze they mention email ,
I have asked for a freeze for month they seem to charge a £20 fee for freeze beware , not been told by front office / only by email ,the membership manager is so rude her name is Poonam Bedi

I did mention why is £20 fee if you want to freeze for month she kept saying read T/C , it seem they want grab money not to care about guest or their feedback.

Eden fitness seem not care about their guest , as in the email when I complained about the membership manager Poonam Bedi , and emailed me back saying the (Kate finance manager) said will terminate my membership.

If you complain they will be rude to you or terminate your membership;

Eden fitness gym in need of improvement in many areas, like the gym equipment, pool/ sauna and changing room / , I hope that the management can address the issue of staff behavior to ensure a more welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all visitors.staff is very unprofessional and rude .

Kate Boydell did a search on me on google after I mentioned about the complaint, search on me on LinkedIn, which is funny, . emailed me saying she will terminate the membership. For no reason .

I have been a member of this gym for less than a month and have unfortunately decided to cancel my membership due to repeated negative experiences.

On several occasions, staff approached me and other members in a disrespectful and passive-aggressive manner, insisting that we leave around 10:30 pm, even though the gym’s website and sign-up information stated a closing time of 11 pm. For the amount being charged, I expect to be able to complete my full workout during the advertised hours. Being told to leave early felt misleading, and the staff’s attitude made the experience unpleasant.

When I raised this issue at reception, I did not receive a clear or professional response, and the behaviour I experienced came across as unprofessional. The overall atmosphere also feels unwelcoming, particularly in the evenings, and I have noticed that younger members seem to be treated differently.

In terms of facilities, the gym is small, lacks a wide range of equipment, and does not justify the high membership fee. The pool is acceptable but often overcrowded and difficult to use comfortably.

Overall, the combination of misleading closing times, unprofessional staff behaviour, and inadequate facilities has made this a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this gym.

Very good series of classes, good PTs, especially George and Dean, very caring and wanting us to get the best out of our workout. Good new class on Wednesday evening with Dean, BoxFit, lots of different stations which make the class very energetic. Good workout. HIIT classes and Cardio with George is great too. I could not recommend them enough. Try it!!

Genuinely one of the nicest staff I've ever met! The team at Eden always have a way to make your workouts feel a little more special. They've always got that warm welcome, and imagine having the Charlie - the Managing Director sharing a coffee with you whilst you're in the lounge area. Five stars from me - this boutique private health club is just a gem!
