Do not even go on this website. As soon as you go on or download it from the App Store, it puts a subscription in your phone. I don’t have a login. I don’t have an app in my phone. Patreon made it look like I needed to use dropbox when I didn’t so I went on the website and now I have a subscription. The app is not in my phone. I did not put a login in their dropbox website. I looked and it’s capturing info in my phone and uploading it to dropbox when I don’t even have a login or the app in my phone.. Apple Store does this all the time if you download an app it will say nothing about a subscription or payment and as soon as it hit your phone, you’ve got a subscription. Today I was on the Apple Store billing information about another issue and saw dropbox there I didn’t even know it was there. I have a pending subscription coming, but I didn’t even know about it and then found out it was capturing the info.

I like dropbox, but despite having 2FA enabled, I have to answer 10 security questions to log in to the website? Each verification takes between 2 and 6 clicks as well.
Screw this, I'm gonna use one of their many competitors instead.
EDIT: reduced to one star because I apparently got ONE of the questions wrong and now I have to answer ALL DAMN TEN questions again. Now I am actively going to seek another provider entirely, move all my files and delete my account. Eff you, dropbox.
Dropbox early adopter
I was a very early adopter with DB and helped, in my small way, to get DB off the ground by encouraging my friends to get an account. Only needing to store small documents the free space that I was 'awarded' for my efforts was enough. Over the years this changed. Suddenly people with these 'awarded' accounts were only allowed to have DB in three locations. I could deal with that but then two of the DB accounts just simply completely stopped updating and nothing I did could get them started again, I followed every single guide I could find, I spent hours on it. This has been done on purpose I am sure. I tried to get help but there is zero support at all for people like me. The reason I was trying to get everything going was because I was going to finally go for a subscription but now I have insight to the way they treat people, no chance. I recommend that unless you want to be badly treated that you do not have an account with DB.

Dropbox has to be one of the WORST EVER companies on the planet. I cancelled my subscription years ago, together with the auto payment and, still, every year they take my money. When I try to resolve it, they just send ‘a ticket’ and don’t deal with the issue. I then spend hours on the phone having to cancel the payment with my bank each year.
If you have any good sense, do not use Dropbox, or you will forever be paying them whether you use the app or not.

They steal your money
I am extremely dissatisfied with Dropbox’s billing process. They charged one of my coworkers for a one-year subscription ahead. I reached out and explained to Dropbox that my coworker didn't need his own account; it must have been an error. The company has a big account already, and they offered to "downgrade his account to a basic one". They downgraded my coworker's account, but guess what, they kept ALL the money. I asked for a refund or a proration of a refund (since there are still 11 months and 20 days we paid for nothing in return!) NOTHING. They basically stole the money. And they marked the "case/ email thread" as resolved. This is a scamming way of doing business!
Dropbox Criminal Auto Renew Policy
They auto renew me and then when I canceled are making me pay for the entire year. 1200.00!!! They won't allow you to upgrade without auto-renewal, that's how they screw you. Has anyone ever even gotten any issue resolved posting here? I'm pretty sure settlement is an admission of guilt too, if you Google it, you will see they have settled on some class actions over this. Anyone know of any national ones?
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. Was locked out of my account due to having a new phone and 2-factor authentication not working. Response from dropbox was to send a whole bunch of highly personal documents via email! Refused and still locked out. Don't use them at all costs!

Dropbox offers a terrible interface, constant upsells, and I have no idea how they're still in business.
I love DropBox for personal use
I only use DropBox for personal files. I have it set up to automatically sync photos as I take them (so long as I have data). Over the 12+ years I have been using DropBox I now have 2Tb of data easily accessible as if it were on my own device. My photos alone amount to 91,000 files totalling 407Gb. I love that it is easy to use and allows me access to all this data. I use DB on my laptop, phone, TVs and tablet. I also use it to share large numbers of photos with others. I find it so much easier to use than MS's One Drive.
I was suprised to see the negative reviews - perhaps it is not so good for users who use it for work purposes? But for personal use I love and recommend it.

They've completely lost functionality
I have a paid account, corporate. My Dropbox seems to have lost all functionality. On Monday, I cleaned out my entire DropBox and deleted everything. Then I uploaded one very large folder, and tried to share it. My Sharing is blocked. Went to customer service, many hours later "Colton" told me it was due to possibly suspicious files that I had deleted many hours before even trying to share. I told him that. 4 days later...no response from Colton. NO response from Customer Service who says "we'll escalate." Still can't share, because of perfectly normal files that DropBox thought were suspicious that I HAD DELETED BEFORE THE PROBLEM EVEN STARTED. When I try to file a new report, it gives me a drop-down of "possible files" that were all DELETED FOUR DAYS AGO. What the HELL is going on? I'm suffering a serious business interruption because you all can't get your crap together?
