Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 145 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers were dissatisfied with unexpected charges and unclear pricing, often finding the final cost much higher than anticipated for services like insurance, tolls, or penalties. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with the location, noting it was inconveniently far from the airport and required multiple shuttles, leading to significant delays. People also reported problems with the payment process, including being charged for insurance they declined, unexpected fees, or issues with card re-charges. However, some people also felt that the staff provided excellent service, assisting with car changes and ensuring quick pickups. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the staff were unhelpful, rude, or primarily focused on making sales, leading to frustrating interactions and long wait times.

Excellent Customer Service (Sam)

Sam at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Explained everything I needed to know about the rental clearly and throughly. My overall experience with Drivo was great and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

SCAM ALERT – DO NOT RENT FROM DRIVO RENT A CAR IN QUEENS

This company is a total rip-off. I was given a vehicle in disgusting, dirty condition — clearly not cleaned before I got it. I returned it spotless and with a full tank, yet they slapped me with a $200 “excessive hair” fee. This is nothing but a scam to squeeze money out of customers.

I sent them video proof of the filthy condition the car was in when I received it, but Arthur Morgan, the so-called manager, still refused to remove the charge. His behavior was blatantly discriminatory toward me based on race and gender, and he hid behind lies instead of addressing the facts.

This company has zero integrity and runs off shady business practices. They will ignore evidence, invent bogus fees, and treat you with disrespect. Save yourself the headache and rent anywhere else.

This company won’t be around too long

This company won’t be around too long, I really can’t believe they even have a spot at JFK airport. After finally finding the company at the airport, which by the way was not on the airport property. I booked the car on Priceline and the amount I booked it for said all taxes and fees included when I got to the counter they gave me a price for the car I rented and attached $150 worth of fees on it. I will definitely get back to Priceline on this one didn’t have time to bicker too much about what they did just wanted to get out of the airport after signing a bunch of places on their 6x6” tablet, not really knowing what I was signing (big mistake on my part) I was given Keys and of course no contract, probably because they didn’t want me to see what I actually signed! The car I rented was supposed to be a full-size Toyota I wound up getting into a Hyundai SUV thought it was fine, come to find out they put me in an upgraded vehicle. Make a long story short when I got the car back I was given a bill for my four day rental at $1200 when it was supposed to be $400 this company he’s made up of a bunch of crooks so if you rent from them the jokes on you! I didn’t argue with them too much because I don’t think the fellow could even understand English. I just decided to take it up with American Express. Thank God I have the American Express card anyway this is the last time I will ever rent from Drivo , Ace, or anything that’s affiliated with them! All I can say is stuff like this only happens in New York City

Zero Stars

Zero Stars: A Cautionary Tale Against Renting from Drivo/Ace Car Rentals
My experience with Drivo/Ace Car Rentals was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share this warning to spare others the frustration, disappointment, and sheer aggravation I endured. This company's blatant disregard for customer expectations, coupled with their unprofessional practices and questionable business environment, makes them an utterly unreliable choice for anyone seeking a car rental. If you're considering renting from Drovo/Ace, I urge you to reconsider--your time, money, and peace of mind deserve better.
My ordeal began with a simple reservation for a full-size SUV, specifically a Chevy Tahoe, which I selected for its space and reliability to meet my travel needs. Upon arrival at their location near JFK airport, I was shocked to be handed the keys to a Hyundai Palisade--a midsize vehicle that falls far short of the full-size SUV I had reserved. When I raised this issue with the staff, I was met with an astonishing claim: they insisted the Palisade was a "full-size" vehicle, despite clear industry standards proving otherwise. This misrepresentation was not only misleading but felt deliberately deceptive, as though the company assumed customers would accept their excuses without question.
The customer service, or lack thereof, only compounded the frustration. The staff displayed a complete lack of empathy, dismissing my concerns with indifference and offering no meaningful solutions. When I attempted to seek clarification or explore alternatives, I was stonewalled--my questions led nowhere, and it became clear that Drivo/Ace prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. This wasn't just a one-off mistake; it felt like a systemic disregard for accountability, leaving me to bear the consequences of their bait-and-switch tactics.
The location itself added another layer of unease. Situated in a sketchy area near JFK airport, the rental office felt far from welcoming. The environment raised immediate red flags, making me question the legitimacy and safety of the operation. For travelers already navigating the stress of airports and logistics, this unsettling setting only amplifies the sense of distrust in Drivo/Ace's services.
What might seem like a "good deal" on the surface is anything but. The initial savings are quickly overshadowed by the grief and aggravation of dealing with a company that fails to deliver on its promises. The inconvenience of receiving a smaller, inadequate vehicle, coupled with the dismissive attitude of the staff, left me shaking my head in disbelief. This experience wasn't just disappointing--it was infuriating, and it's one I wouldn't wish on anyone.
To anyone considering Drivo/Ace Car Rentals, let my experience serve as a stark warning: steer clear. No discount is worth the headache of dealing with a company that misleads its customers, provides abysmal service, and operates in a way that feels untrustworthy. There are plenty of reputable car rental companies that value transparency and customer care--Drovo/Ace is not one of them. Save yourself the frustration and choose a provider that respects your time and expectations—zero stars, without hesitation.

STAY AWAY from Drivo Rent A Car

STAY AWAY from Drivo Rent A Car. They do not provide a written rental agreement, but ask you to sign on a digital pad WITHOUT seeing the terms and conditions. They claimed that they would email me the rental agreement with the condition of the car before the rental, but NEVER sent me such an email. That way they sold me insurance even though I declined it. They also try to rob their customers a few days after car return; by claiming that there was damage to the rental car, even if there is absolutely NO damage.

⭐ 1 Star – Misleading Pricing and Poor Customer Service

I recently booked a rental with Drivo Rent A Car at JFK expecting a straightforward process, but was hit with unexpected and unnecessary fees when I arrived to collect the vehicle. Despite having my own insurance and clearly stating I didn’t need additional coverage, I was pressured into signing for extra charges that weren’t disclosed upfront. The invoice showed fees I never agreed to, and the staff seemed more focused on upselling than customer service.
This kind of bait-and-switch pricing is frustrating and feels dishonest. I would strongly recommend others to read the fine print carefully and be prepared for last-minute surprises. Definitely not the hassle-free experience I was hoping for.

Be alert the hidden charge!

We recently rented a car at this location, specially told the agent that we don’t need to add any insurance via ACE, since we have provided our own insurance, however, the invoice showed the charge for the insurance deductible, without our consensual agreement. In addition, there was a charge of geo violation that we weren’t aware upon booking. We feel the trust is violated, and not happy with the way they treat their customers.
