To say they are bunch of cowboys is…

Waveney insurance, To say they are bunch of cowboys is understatement. They just want your money, once you paid you are in a hole.
If you change your address or your car registration number they blackmail you with extortionate price. For health reasons I wanted to stop/cancel my insurance two months before the policy is due for renewal. I don’t want a refund for those two months.
They forced me to pay half what I already have paid when I took the policy ten months earlier. I paid around £500 for a whole year insurance but I had to pay around £200. Their excuse was that they gave me £200 discount when I took the policy, what a load of crapp.
Two months earlier I took my private number plate of the car and they charged me £50 .
A bunch of pathetic, cheap, pickpockets money grabbing creatures.
No matter what you phoning them for, they want money.

Recommend to stay clear

Unreasonable hike in renewal price

Offered a renewal over £1000 MORE EXPENSIVE. Due to the fact that I'm also a musician? I had obtained 2 years no claims had 3 points less and went from a PDI to an ADI. Been working for a long time to be more responsible on the road and get a clean license in order to start this career.

They also never actually sent me any quote via email making it difficult for me to confirm their lunacy.

Complete lack of respect and I honestly feel sorry for customer service team, who just need a job like anyone else and have ended up having to work for a company with no morals and take all of their sh**.

Overpriced, outdated and difficult to contact

I was with Waveney for many years, but the last few years they have been difficult to deal with, largely due to the fact your have to wait forever on the phone until they pick up - which is hopeless, since they don't have online facilities. When you do finally get through you invariably need to try and negotiate a cheaper deal. Have now moved to Adrian Flux for better cover, £100 lower premium and a modern portal that works very well. I definitely wouldn't now recommend Waveney/Towergate

Avoid

I contacted Waveney a good few weeks into lockdown when I found out that I could downgrade my car insurance from business to social and domestic to save some money and they were most unhelpful. I emailed a complaint a month ago and as of today I have had no reply. Thankfully my insurance renewal was yesterday and by going with someone else I saved a lot of money. I'll never use Waveney again.

Shockingly bad for commercial use

Shockingly bad administration on set up.

Do not recommend if you are a commercial business user. They are well out of their depth and send threatening passive aggressive letters by signed for.

Literally, the most incompetent administration department I have ever dealt with clearly run by young children with no knowledge of the training / commercial industry.

Charged 50% of the full premium: 1 week after cool off.

The list of punitive charges meant I lost 50% of the total premium only 1 week after the 14 day cool off period. Dirty, long list of charges which was far, far from reflective of the actual effort put into what they had actually done.
"I would as likely recommend Waveney Group insurance like a gunshot wound to the head."
