Amazing customer service

Amazing customer service! I was able to book in the same day for diagnostic work following intermittent engine overheating. Diagnosed with hole in coolant pipe within 2 hours, new part ordered the same day and courtesy car provided for 3 days during repair. They went above and beyond to then highlight an illegal front tyre and let me know my MOT was due to expire that same day (had no clue). They called ahead to a local tyre company to reserve the tyre I needed and booked me in for the MOT. Would highly recommend.

Complete rip-off – Unauthorized work and fake diagnoses!

Avoid this garage – completely dishonest pricing and unauthorized work.
I booked my vehicle in for a very specific, fixed-price diagnostic check (£102) to find the source of a low-speed mechanical noise. Instead, they kept my car all day and performed an unauthorized gearbox oil change without my approval, slapping me with a shocking £185 bill at the end.
Even worse, their "resolution" was completely fabricated. They claimed they had to drain and top it up because the oil was low and dirty, but the gear oil had actually just been changed and perfectly topped up at home by a mechanic less than 3,000 miles ago, with absolutely zero leaks under the car. They completely missed the actual mechanical diagnostic fault, ignored my written instructions, and then had the nerve to claim the cracking noise was "less" when I picked it up. It is exactly the same loud noise it was before. Complete waste of time and money. Do not trust their phone quotes.

As explained at the time we required draining of your reduction gear to inspect for oil quality and swarf if present.
The oil that was removed and measure from your car was (540ml) the actual correct amount is (1100ml) so you had less than half of the correct amount of oil, the oil was also in poor condition,
We also contacted you via phone to get authorisation for the oil replacement which you agreed too.
CCTV footage of the repair being done is available which you are more than welcome to come and view this clearly shows the oil being drained, this will be available for the next 90 days
Up on arrival to collect your car we shown you the old oil and also explained that there was still a noise and the next step would be to remove gear box.
Given your car is currently on 139798 and the service indicator on the dash shows 60000 over due service we can only assume that the vehicle has a poor service history.

D.R Automotive are excellent. I have used them for years. I live in Burton-On-Trent but I travel to Stone because I can rely on their professional work and support with every problem I have had with my vehicles. Once again I thank you for my repair today.

Fabulous service

Fabulous service. Came out to me when I broke down, got my car going and took me back to the garage while they did the repairs. No call out fee added to my bill and what a friendly bunch they are. Would highly recommend.

If you can't fix it just be honest and say...

I purchased my car with a 3 month warranty with a company called Motorway Direct, it developed a hesitation problem within the first week and I was directed to Halfords initially who had it in for a day and held their hands up and said that they could not find the fault (No charge). I was then directed to DR Automotive in Stone by the Warranty Company. They kept the car for 4 days and charged the warranty company over £230.00 for fitting components that turned out were not required. Contacted them within a week to inform them the fault was still present and felt the response was rather negative and not interested. Had to take it then to W.T.Bell's in Burslem who informed me that the EGR Valve and Oil Cooler needed replacing and it was a main dealer job. The Mechanic there Christian, went the extra mile and rang the main dealer and warranty company and arranged it all for us. We went to the main dealer a week later who found the fault straight away and fixed it at a cost of over £650.00. Plus one part was replaced under the extended warranty which would have sent the bill to over £1000.00. I wish garages could be honest with you if the fault is above their technical capability and not put you through the inconvenience of keeping your car for 4 days.

Hi, and thank you for the review,
The reason we had your vehicle for 4 days was due to the authorisation process with the warranty company and time for parts to be ordered and delivered we have no control over this.
As for parts not being required the air flowmeter was tested and had failed also the cap could not hold the correct pressure so was also replaced.
The EGR was tested and passed testing at the time we had the vehicle and completed a 10 mile road test. (This information was taken from our job card.)
As for our response when you called back I'm sorry your feel this way and I can't really comment as your review was over 16 months ago.
We have only just been made aware of this review and didn't even know we had a trust pilot profile, we have not set this up but have taken ownership of it today.
For anyone reading this review please take a wider view of all the review platforms such as facebook , bookmygarage, google, yell and many more and you will get a more accurate picture of our standing in the industry.
I believe looking at all of Mr Rhodes reviews we have been unfairly reviewed due to the saga he had with his Volvo purchase.
