I received a damaged package from Douglas Netherlands, and the way this was handled was extremely disappointing. Their first response was to immediately blame the delivery company. However, the damage clearly came from the inside: the products were leaking, which means the issue originated during packing by Douglas, not during delivery.
I contacted customer service by email and provided all relevant pictures in my very first message, clearly showing the leaking products and damaged box. After several back-and-forth emails, Douglas waited until the 10th day to ask me for pictures again. This makes no sense—those pictures had already been sent. Who keeps a damaged box and empty, leaked products for ten days, especially when the evidence was already provided from the start?
Overall, the customer service was slow, dismissive, and inefficient. I really do not recommend Douglas. Even low-cost websites offer better service, and competitors handle these situations far more professionally.
Absolute bad experience, wouldn't recommend. I ordered something and selected the date of delivery. Nothing was delivered on the date of delivery and when I called their customer support, the person rudely says there was a holiday in between so it won't come. If it won't come, then why give an option to select the delivery date. Completely disappointed, not going to order through them again. And what rude customer support staff!

I ordered what was clearly labeled as a “lipstick” (Rouge Dior Velvet) from Douglas, but what I received was only a refill — without the actual lipstick case, making it unusable on its own.
There was no clear indication in the product title or main visuals that this was just a refill. The page presents it like a complete lipstick, which is misleading. Only after opening and trying to use it did I realize it requires a separate case.
This is not a small detail — it fundamentally changes the product. A refill without a case is not a functional lipstick.
Very disappointing experience, especially from a premium brand and retailer. Product labeling and presentation should be much clearer to avoid misleading customers.

I have avoided Douglas for many, many, many years, but decided to give them another chance. I went to two stores in Utrecht and their customer service, or rather lack there of, was so atrocious I left and spent my money at Chanel Bijenkorf. You lost 500 euros and a future customer.

I placed an order from Douglas Nederland on Nov 26, 2025, during their Black Friday sale, yet the delivery was never fulfilled. My package was lost during delivery (the last status was “out for delivery,” and it had never been updated since Nov 27, 2025).
I’ve sent emails to their customer service team about this situation (as Douglas says to do so), 5 times in total (on Nov 29, Dec 02, Dec 07, Dec 10, and Dec 16). I haven’t received a single word from them since then.
I understand that Black Friday and the holiday season must be their busiest time of year, yet this level of client service is unacceptable, especially from a renowned brand like Douglas.

I placed an order through the Douglas platform, but it turned out the order would be shipped from China. After a few days without any information, I sent an inquiry to the email they sent me. I received a delivery note and information that delivery could take 10 to 20 days. As of November 9, 2025, the delivery is still ongoing. I can't get any information or resolution to my problem; I'm constantly being ignored. I also can't change the delivery address. I think I've been scammed! I don't recommend, and in fact, I warn against buying from Douglas! Neither the products nor the money! I should emphasize that there was no information about such an excruciating delivery time, although I'll probably never receive it like the money I lost because of this order.

I placed an order on 26 November and I still have not received my package. Their website advertises fast delivery (2–4 days), which is simply untrue. At this point it feels misleading and I honestly don’t understand how it is allowed to remain on their site.
I contacted customer service on 3 December to report that my order was missing, but I still have no update, no investigation results, and no solution. I have now requested a refund, yet all I’m being told is to “wait”. I think I have waited long enough.
Very disappointing experience. I won’t be ordering from Douglas again.
* I received an email stating that I would receive a refund. This has still not happened, now 21 days after placing the order. I will not be providing "additional details", as these have already been shared with customer service. However, if there are so many similar complaints that my case cannot be identified without further information, that is even more concerning.

I am writing this review after visiting the shop on 30/11/2025, where I bought some products. I wanted to purchase a Douglas beard oil for my husband but was told the item was not on sale, nor were other items from then Douglas range -despite the signs in the shop indicating otherwise. However, after checking online, I found that the product was indeed on sale.
I had questioned the accuracy of the information in the shop and was told that many items were included in the promotion—but I couldn’t help feeling that they simply couldn’t be bothered to check properly. Although Douglas offers a good selection of products, my experience at the store on Beethovenstraat in Amsterdam was far from satisfactory. The staff I encountered were neither helpful nor interested in providing proper customer service. What disappointed me the most was their attitude — it came across as unfriendly and dismissive, as if customers were more of an inconvenience than anything else.
It’s truly a shame, because the store could have been a pleasant place to shop if the employees had shown even a minimum level of engagement and courtesy. When the service is this poor, it doesn’t matter how good the products are — the overall experience suffers, and it makes me think twice about ever returning.
