Dishnet is the worst cable company i…
Dishnet is the worst cable company i have ever had. They will not help customers with billing, and tell you because its prepaid. I was never told that when i signed up. I had my for 2 months and box went out, I had to wait 6 days for a replacement and had to pay an extra 50.00 and i have insurance on my account plus I was not credited the days of lost service. PLEASE DON'T GET DISHNET THEY WILL SCREW YOU ANYWAY THEY CAN.
TERRIBLEEEE SERVICE!!!!!
TERRIBLE SERVICE. PLEASE DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR FALSE PROMOTIONS. THEIR POLICIES ARE THE WORST. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MISSED SO MUCH BY A SERVICE. READ THE SMALL PRINT OF YOUR CONTRACT.
I jus got off the phone after listening…
I jus got off the phone after listening to a rude DISH customer service representative, they tried to raise my bill and extra $42 per month, I called to find out why, when he explained that my 2 years promotion was over I asked him to disconnect my service, I was paying $78 for VERY BAD SERVICE, what makes them think I will pay $120 now? well after I asked for the service to be disconnected the representative got very loud and disrespectful, then he told me I had to wait another 7 days before disconnecting, I asked for a supervisor and he said the supervisor was no interested in talking to me, he proceed to cancel my account and charged me the whole $48 for 6 days of use, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
This is the worst cable Company
This is the worst cable Company. They lied to me on the original sales call.Said it wasn't a contract when i asked. When they came to install it they said i was signing a work order. Apparently that was a two year contract. Which i wasnt aware of. When i had to move they would not let me cancel and tried taking money out of my checking account. I returned the equipment and tried to work with them but they are ruining my credit. I am a 60 year old women and i feel taken advantage of. They have even made a deal with the credit bureau that even if i pay their extortion payment they wont repair my credit. I have always had good credit and paid my bills. Please do not get the dish there are many complaints with the better business bureau with simular stories. If i can stop people from going through the same experience i will. BEWARE YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE MONEY BUT ALL YOU WILL GET IS A HEADACHE
This has to be the worst cable company…
This has to be the worst cable company I have ever dealt with in my life. The people are rude. Their billing is the worst ever they try to gouge you every way they can. They want you to pay for their mistakes that they make on their billing which is BS. Do not use this company warning to the public you have been warned. They're cheap prices isn't worth the Hassle You spend on the phone every month dealing with These fools .They hire a bunch of uneducated kids.
Constantly lies about prices
Constantly lies about prices, no one ever speaks English so they claim they don't understand what you're asking, and most recently we were told the price of a package, changed the package, and now it costs more than what we were told including a reactivation fee-and a new bill came in 15 days. Why would I pay for 15 days?! If I wanted to turn it on by paying the minimum I'd get 9 more days. When we complained they said they would listen to the recording of the phone conversation and said that we told everything. Complete lies, which was also the second time they supposedly listened to them.
Scam
Scam! Promise promotions then don’t come through . Worst company ever. Expensive. Useless
Comparison of cable with Dish Network
Comparison of cable with Dish Network: Dish Network is less expensive, and with a two year contract, they don't raise your rates every 12 months, as the cable company (Spectrum) did. Dish also has the most Christian channel offerings, though most are not offered in HD, even if they (like EWTN) are offered in HD on cable TV. A third pro for Dish over cable is that the Hopper allows you to off-load your shows to an external HD, so they don't auto-delete as the dvr gets full. Not having used Dish Network before, these obvious pros were what got us to sign up with them for two years. DN was also quick to send us the prepaid VISA card for choosing their service.
But you get what you pay for, and these are the downsides that we have experienced in the first 2 months with Dish Network:
* Customer Service: Cable wins: shorter hold times, more experienced and local (English speaking) technicians
* Channels: Fewer HD, though lots of SD channels
* Hardware--Hopper vs. Cable Box: the cable box wins: cable box was more user-friendly; had more user shortcuts and ways to speed thru menus, guides, and the dvr; and it did not screw up recordings. For instance, with the Hopper, sometimes when you have a two-part movie, it will not record Part 2 because it thinks it is the same as Part 1, and will not record it "twice" no matter what you do. I was on the phone with DN tech support for an hour trying to fix this issue before we went on vacation. Tech support was no help at all: the Hopper dvr would not record Part 2 no matter what we tried. To get me off the phone, the tech support representative told me, Oh it will probably record the show anyway. We did all the right things to set it up.
Nope, we are back from vacation and it did not record Part 2, so the guy lied just to get me off the phone. He knew, by the down arrow that I was describing that Part 2 would NOT record, but could not bring himself to tell me that their equipment is flawed and cannot tell the difference between Parts 1 and 2. Honesty would have been nice.
So the decision is yours: are the first three pros (i.e. lower monthly cost) worth having DN's lower quality:
customer service and DVR usability and recording ability?
DISH Doesn't Take Their Electronics Back Causing Landfill Waste
We've had DISH for a number of years, and it's provided good service. However, we recently had to cancel due to a personal event and we discovered that DISH doesn't take back the boxes, you have to dispose of them, which is ridiculous considering the environmental impact. Electronics are extremely bad for the earth. To their credit, they give you locations to recycle though that's on you and I bet most people just throw those DISH boxes in the garbage. It's extremely wasteful and should be the responsibility of the company to dispose of their electronic devices safely.
worst possible experience
worst possible experience. After canceling my cable service at a 2nd home and wanting to open a new internet account at a new home I am purchasing they said I have to wait 90 days after I was on the phone for 1 hour. Terrible company to work with. I would never refer someone to them after that experience.
Never have I talked to more collosally…
Never have I talked to more collosally stupid people. If your new, customer service is great, however, they will screw over a long time customer in a heart beat. You always get stuck with a 2 yr commitment and no warning. They just send a damned bill with a jacked up price! And it's always the same b.s.! It's the guys that control the airwaves. They lost $$ and customers in the first quarter. I will dance in the street when customers start dropping them due to the pandemic and unemployment! I'm on a fixed income. And everybody is trying to suck the life out of what little we have in our purses! Jacked up prices! Food, gas, clothes, dish, OTC stuff...hand sanitizer, face masks! So now dish is piling on! Hope the next 2 quarters are worse! On the phone 5 times today. Put on hold then totally ignored! Total of an hour and a half! Had to keep calling back! They should be sued they say they have "top rated customer service" LOL! NOT!
Cannot say enough good things about Dish
I have literally never said this, which is actually sad, but I have had nothing but outstanding service with Dish Network. I had a terrible experience with another company and called Dish to schedule installment, they were there within two hours, amazing!! I have had to cancel service due to financial concerns, spoke with James who called and emailed very quickly. He was so helpful and gracious, way to go Dish!! I will recommend them to everyone, thank you for making things so easy, much appreciated 😁
Bad customer service
Dish is just for the customers to make money for their business. When you disconnect their service they look for every reason to make money out of you.
No customer loyalty
21 years with dish..had to take the hopper as equipment was outdated. Nothing but problems..will shut off to update in the middle of the day so no TV on..its set to update at 3 am. Was told today if I didn't like it..CANCEL
21 years means nothing!
Horrible customer service - even for long-time customer
I have been a Dish customer for over 15 years. I have been experiencing problems with DVR recordings being automatically deleted over the last several months. Customer service representatives couldn't explain why certain events are automatically being deleted, and the only solution they could offer was to try to sell me an upgraded box with package (of course that meant an additional cost to me). I told them I just wanted the problem fixed.
The supervisor proceeded to tell me that since I only reported this problem once, I would have to call back when it happens again (even though no adjustments were made). I told them I would not waste my time calling back as this has happened numerous times over the last several months, and it took me 30 minutes just to get through. Long story short - I was bluntly told they would NOT be replacing my box (so I could either pay for an upgrade for a new box, or live with my current problem).
I cannot believe the lack of customer service. Again, I have been a long-time customer and just want the problem fixed. So much for appreciation for customer loyalty. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Absolute WORST customer service I’ve…
Absolute WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. Will never ever recommend Dish to ANYONE, and we will be canceling our service ASAP. Switch to Direct TV and get all the same channels, better service, and people that CARE for half the price!!
I will NEVER use Dish Network again
I will NEVER use Dish Network again, Nor will I refer anyone else to them! We’ve had a lot of complaints but this one tops them all and I will be canceling ASAP! We got behind on our bill by $25. We planned to pay the $25 when the next bill came around. Dish just suspended our service for $25 and charged us $15 just to make a payment extension! All while everyone is supposed to be staying at home and lots of people are out of work. What do they expect us to do? We have small kids who watch cartoons a lot. They never asked if we were financially impacted by COVID-19! They don’t care if we were impacted apparently. And if I would have looked at all these negative reviews before we signed up then I never would have signed up in the first place. Their price lock is bogus and a big lie. They trap you then they don’t care what happens as long as they are getting your money. I’m am furious right now with this so called company and will not be with them much longer. I will have to pay $400 plus dollars just to get out of my contract but it will be well worth it in the long run. Once again I do not recommend anyone signing up for Dish Network. Thank you for reading.
I switched to Dish yesterday and today…
I switched to Dish yesterday and today I canceled the service. Dishlatino has the worst definition or image quality I've ever seen in the last 12 years of my life and they charge me with $480 dollars, just after 24h of service. They said I have to pay $20 dollars for each 24 months of service I will not use, not cool.
THE WORST!!
THE WORST!!! This company is the worst company to deal with. They are pushy, rude, and way over priced for all the garbage they have to select from. They tell you that you have price lock guarantee for 2 years but after a couple months they will raise the rates on you. When you call and ask them about it they tell you it is out of their control, surcharges and fee that they don't control. What bull crap!!! When I call to cancel the guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. I'll have no tv watching at all before I would ever go back to this place.
Do yourself a favor an update your internet connect and stream tv that way. It's a lot cheaper, no contracts, and no rude people to deal with. It has saved us over $100.00 per month
The ABSOLUTE WORST service ever
The ABSOLUTE WORST service ever. Since we have been isolated in our home during this COVID-19 pandemic, we have needed our Dish receiver box exchanged 3 times and our satellite once. Each time was due to failure to receive satellite signal, ie. NO WATCHING TV. Yet again, we are staring at blank televisions and they can’t have anyone out to fix for days. I always read reviews before any purchase, and hope this will help any of you that are doing the same. DO NOT GET DISH!!! Unless you want hours upon hours of trying to fix yourself, to receive no help by phone and then to wait for days for them to temporarily fix, for it to happen again and again.
