No problems on download and activation
I have only used direct2drive once, but have had no problems.
Downloaded the game just fine and both the preordercode and the actualy gamecode worked fine.
I have not needed any contact with customersupport so cannot comment on that.
If you like a challenge/gamble
I have bought around 7-10 games from direct2drive. Almost invariably somethings goes wrong and requires multiple 3 hour downloads, updates, and fiddling. Some games simply will not work. THERE IS NO SUPPORT BEYOND AUTO RESPONSES FOR BASIC PROBLEMS. THEY WILL NOT HELP OR REFUND YOU. So get off your chair and go buy the game at a store. These people are criminals. It is unbelievable that they can do this to us.

No problems
I've never had any trouble with D2D, and they have always delivered the products as supposed.
no customer service
They had a sale, but when I tried to use paypal I got a server error. Paypal worked everywhere else. They just gave me the runaround untill the sale was over. I finally got the very well hidden phone number (714-460-6700) called and they said (shocked) they can't do service over the phone. Now over a month later the managers are still playing stupid eventhough I provided the actual page for each step of the proccess. They did offer a $20 credit but thats $74.70 short of the sale price.
No problems so far
D2D has Great prices (vs Steam).
I had no problems with Direct2Drive service. I must say I am satisfied with the service.
Maybe downloading speed could be faster, but that's all I have to say.
Great service!
I bought some games via D2D and I must say I am extremely satisfied w/ their service;
I had no problems downloading and redownloading my games whatsoever.
Keep the good work in the future and happy birthday D2D
I think it's a fantastic service.
I've used D2D for 3 years now, and have never been dissappointed with the speed of downloads, considering you're downloading an entire game, and the selection's great. I've only had one hangup when trying to redownload a game, but the problem was solved by their customer service within 24 hours. Since first trying it, the only other place I've purchased games from was Steam, and only then for games that I can't get through any place but Valve, or when games are on sale. Speaking of which, I think that's about the only thing I can say that D2D isn't good at, discounts on games that aren't old.
I purchased a game but could not download
After 3 days from the initial ticket request direct2drive said that my hardrive was formatted fat32 and not NTFS - this was why I could not download and therefore must reformat - instructions for this require a windows CD which I do not have. I requested a refund for this. They stated that a refund could not be done, nor would store credit be provided (something one service tech offered and I agreed to and then was later rescinded by a supervisor) they consider the matter closed. I feel this is theft. No where on theiir website did it tell me the format of my hard drive was to be NTFS (so I could download games larger than 4gb)
It took 8 days for this to come to a conclusion due to very slow response times from their customer service reps. Mainly 2 responses took considerable time - the initial 3 day response and the last response where the store credit was rescinded and a refund refused - this took 3 days as well.
