I purchased 4 Polo items and one round…

I purchased 4 Polo items and one round tree belt for my husband. The jeans, the button up shirt and belt fit perfect. The pajama bottoms and the shirt did not fit. I had no problem returning the pajama bottoms but the clerk has to do some checking as he claimed the shirt came from an outlet store. I was totally insulted. I called for a manager and I was in the end refunded. I love shopping at Dillard's but after this experience I can't be certain they are selling authentic merchandise. I'm left to wonder if the jeans and button up shirt are authentic.I had my receipt. Merchandise was stickered and still tagged.

Returns process doesn't show the cost of using return labels

I wish I had read reviews before I ordered a dress online. The size chart by the manufacturer was way off so the dress was off by 2 sizes. My problem with Dillards is the sneaky way they charge for return labels. I would have taken the dress to a store for a free return if I had realized they would charge me $9.95 for a return shipping fee. The options were not clearly given in the return process and I didn't realize I would be charged. Hardly any other department store does this! I won't be using them EVER again unless they refund this sneaky charge!

Dillard's Is Still Great

I grew-up with Dillard's, beginning with the one in Memphis, TN. in the Eighties, later with the one in Alexandria, LA. I continue to use Dillard's even though I now have the misfortune of living in a place like Oregon. I love the store, the company and have yet to have anything but an excellent experience with Dillard's. It's unfortunate to see so many have poor interactions while I have consistently good ones.

A good product, a good shopping experience, a responsible staff

For the first time in several years, I was looking for shoes; I first went to what I guess you would call a kind of self-serve shoe store; all the different sizes of a particular shoe are grouped together in stacks, with a sample from the stack placed in display in front of it. If you were interested in the shoe, you find the right size of it from the stack, take it out of the box, and put it on. If you decide not to take it, you place in back in the box and return it to the stack.
When I went to Dillard's, the process was different. There were no stacks of shoes, just samples of shoes in a fairly confined area. If you wanted try on the shoe, the sales person went to a backroom to get it. For the customer, this was a much simpler process.
The sales lady that served to me was not pushy at all. I did find a shoe that I liked and purchased it. While the brand was called Flag Ltd, she advised me that it was a Dillard's brand. They are dress shoes, and were on sale for $99. I've been testing the shoes off and on for a few days, and I'm quite happy with them.
One other little detail. About an hour after I left the store I realized that I did not have my wallet. I wasn't sure where it was, but I thought there was a very good chance I had left it at the cash register desk. I went back to the shoe area in the store, but the saleslady was not there. (It was late, and she had apparently gone for the day.) And I did not see my wallet at the cash register either. I went to another clerk to leave my phone number in case it did turn up, she checked with the gift department, and some one -- I'm assuming the sales lady who I bought the shoes from -- had left the wallet with another sales lady at that department, who gave it to me. I offered the store a tip, but she wouldn't take it. I hadn’t been to Dilliard’s for years, but I do plan to be returning.

Imperfect Necklace and Poor Customer Service

I was online shopping for a necklace for my daughter’s wedding and ordered one that I loved from Dillard’s. Extremely disappointed is an understatement for when it arrived with a gemstone missing. I immediately called Dillard’s and was offered either a 20% refund if keeping the necklace, or full refund upon return; they had no more necklaces to replace mine with. I decided to think about it and the next day took it to a jeweler for repair because there was no time before the wedding to start over shopping. I called Dullard’s again, explaining that to make the purchase wearable I had to pay $50 for repairs, and that I believe a much greater than 20% discount was appropriate. They offered the same 20% off and to refund my shipping costs. I am highly disappointed, especially since should I have returned the necklace, they wouldn’t be able to resell it as is. Also, the first representative was unfriendly, and neither of the two apologized for the condition of the necklace or my troubles. I will never order there again.

Dillards please use FedEx not UPS…

I have ordered several things from Dillards while vacationing here In Florida. Everything has arrived quickly except those delivered by ups. FedEx was excellent, ups had our parcels in our city on Aug 29 and decided not to deliver until Sept 2. They had time to deliver before the long weekend but left them there. FedEx delivered two items from the same order prior to the weekend but ups did not. Now we are leaving and my parcels will not arrive in time. Disappointed

Poor customer service, arrogant and inexperienced sales people

I bought two suits at Dillards in Louisville CO. The sales guy did a poor job matching my style. He wanted to impose his style on me. The alteration service was doing a poor job. One leg was over an inch longer than the other, amongst other things. He blamed his colleague, very unprofessional. The second suit was the same style, just different color, but did not fit at all. I returned it thanks to poor service and a terrible sales person. The same guy belittled my son a few months earlier, when buying a suit. It was more important for him to chat with his buddy and providing the service we needed. We ultimately purchased his suit at Macys.

Today, they brought a voucher on shoes, the brand I purchased 2 pairs a week ago. They would not honor that.

Except for exclusive brands like Cremieux, I will spend my money at Macys and Nordstrom going forward.

I recently purchased several perfumes…

I recently purchased several perfumes through Dillard’s online store, expecting the same level of service I usually receive when shopping in person. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. One of the reasons I often shop at department stores is the added value of receiving fragrance samples, which allows me to try out new scents before committing to a full bottle. This time, despite spending a significant amount, not a single sample was included in my order.

It feels like a missed opportunity for both the customer and the store—samples help us discover new favorites and often lead to future purchases. I expected better from Dillard’s, especially given its reputation for customer care. I hope the company reconsiders this practice for online orders, as it leaves loyal customers like me feeling undervalued.

First time and the last time I ever…

First time and the last time I ever order from Dillards. The return policy is not only confusing, but it's the worst I've ever seen from a retailer. They won't do price adjustments either. You have to return the item and then repurchase it to get the new price. My expensive swimsuit tops arrived in a mangled box. The box was inside of a shipping bag and when I pulled it out, the swim tops fell right onto the floor because the box was so badly damaged. I've spoken to two different customer service reps about other issues with my order. Both times I felt like I was talking to someone who just rolled out of bed. Both reps were not friendly at all. Their tone was rude and they sounded very bothered. I'm going to my local store to get a refund. That should be interesting. I won't be ordering from them again.

Fake cologne/rude customer service

Bought a bottle of Chanel Allure sport extreme and sprayed it on and it smelled like alcohol, didn’t last for not even 10 min and nobody smelled it on me. Didn’t want to give up so I sprayed it on my wife and son and the same thing happened so I ordered a bottle from Chanel to compare and it was totally different even the box color was lighter and barcode was darker and cologne last 5 hours or more.. so I called Dillard’s and let them know that I was disappointed in the product and I think it’s fake and they told me they can’t do nothing about it because I opened it and just hung up in my face before I could even say another word smh…this place is selling fake cologne I will never buy anything else from them ever…shitty business

Customer service is horrible

I ordered something this past Monday and was told it would be here Friday. Also told the shipping would be FedEx Ground.

It’s now Saturday and it was not delivered—today is the expected delivery date with USPS, who can’t even tell me where the package is or when it will be delivered. Neither can Dillard’s customer service and the agent was rude.

I’ve ordered from them multiple times and had a good experience. Obviously they don’t care anymore and ruined my birthday.

Refused to Refund Valid Return

TLDR: Dillard's incorrectly processed our refund to store credit instead of back to our credit card as per store policy. They refuse to correct their mistake and waste a bunch of our time in the process. Currently out $400.

We made an online order from Dillard's and paid with credit card via Apple Pay. We decided to return the item while within the valid return window, expecting a refund to our original form of payment less fees. Instead, we received a gift card containing store credit. Our return email explicitly states that a refund will be sent to our original form of payment, so this is clearly an error on Dillard's part.

Customer service advises that a gift card was sent because they were "unable to process a refund to Apple Pay." They state that the standard procedure for this would be for the customer to dispute the charge with their bank in order to process the refund. We proceed as suggested and Dillard's blocks the dispute, citing the provided store credit as the reason.

We contact customer service again, they advise us to dispute the charge again as "this is their standard process, and this time they've left clear instructions on our file to process the dispute correctly." We reopen the dispute and Dillard's blocks the dispute yet again for the same reason. The "senior manager" who looked into our issue for us and provided his phone number for future contact does not respond to or return calls. Thus far, this merchant has done nothing but waste our time and steal $400 from us.

Shopped at downtown summerlin Dillards…

Shopped at downtown summerlin Dillards store in the shoe department. I am not kidding, 90% of the shoes that were for sale either at a mark down or new were all return items. They soles were black with dirt. Asked the sales lady and she informed me they now have a
“machine” to clean bottoms of shoes for $7.00 each. I could not believe the disgusting and dirty bottoms of most shoes. Since when do they sell return shoes for a “discount” price, and not even discuss any of this with the customer. I will NEVER shop there again. How absurd!!!! Scam!!!

Do they think the public will accept this horrible practice of selling return shoes (from somewhere, who knows where they came from) for a $10.00 discount.

Please either don’t shop there or inspect the shoes well esp bottoms.

Quality of Delivery Service

Quality of item is impeccable. BedStu crossbody. Delivery is horrible. Was told delivery for 7/30 and 8/1 which never delivered. Then finally it arrived 8/2. FedEx had no humans to talk to and Dillard said they could do nothing until 8/5. Never again, will I order from Dillard.

Don’t buy from Dillard store bags or shoes are poorly made

I bought a Alex Marie / Antonio Melany is a soiree sandal that I wear it 2 hours and the leather start to pill off when I bring it to the store the answer I received this is old I don’t understand what mean a sandal this expensive you expect to keep in your wear drop for occasion you wear it one time and star to ruins which not the expectation paying for those expensive shoes or footwear not worth what you pay for it I expect a better response to the situation if you don’t stand behind the item you sale and put a higher price to sale it and the answer was not expect any way if you ask me to trash it after that I lift it to the associate to do that on my behalf because I don’t like to keep trash on my closet .
