The mentors were good at explaining what the topic was about and how mayhs applies in the real world.

Really enjoyed the week.

As an aspiring medic I decided to try out my first medical based course, Debate chamber part two. The relaxed environment set out by both the friendly medical students (the tutors) and the other people in my class made me feel comfortable answering questions and discussing cases. I learnt lots on various topics ranging from neurology to psychiatry and was extremely well taught by the tutors. After the course I felt even more passionate about medicine and it has definitely given me an extra push to do more research. Overall, it was an extremely valuable experience, one which I hope to try out again next year.

Very informative. Could definitely see myself studying this in the future thanks to the two brilliant tutors that’s really broke everything down and helped confirm my decision to study dentistry

The teachers, especially Phoebe, were amazing and very informative. The course was incredibly interesting and gave you a taster of what medicine is like as well as making the whole experience very enjoyable. This course was perfect for me and I would love to go again!

An extremely interesting and fun summer school. The history course is so varied and amazing.

I applied for a bursary for the young doctor's summer school and it was worth every second. My mentor, Phoebe was incredible and I was so in awe of her passion and knowledge of all things medical. She encourages us to ask questions and look at a humane and "text book" side of medicine and the topics we covered were thought provoking and engaging. I met loads of like minded people my age, and I'm sure I will stay in contact with them. I loved the sections on neurology, psychiatrics and paediatric diseases/development. Thank you debate chamber for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I would love to do it again next year!

Very well organised. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her weekend as she did last year. I can recommend the Young Doctor’s Summer School as a good introduction to medicine.

I highly recommend this course as it was very helpful because it expanded my general knowledge around the topic Medicine. The group of people you embark with really enable you to gain more knowledge as the course goes through. I have always been interested in neurology and surgery therefore the topics were really relevant and increased my passion for the subject. Even if neurology is your piece your speciality i'm sure you find something of interest. I now very excited and looking forward to extending my knowledge on the next progressive course.

It was great amd i really loved the lessons. The teachers were really kind and the activities were cool. My favourite bit was the reflexes.

My experience with debate chamber was excellent, it has confirmed for me that Dentistry is definitely the career I want to follow, the powerpoint presentations were very interesting and condensed information on a wide range of topics, this helped to build on the knowledge I already had of dental procedures and the different specialties, the tutors were so helpful in answering questions that we had and further explained topics which the whole group found interesting.
I would definitely recommend the summer school to my peers!

I thoroughly enjoyed my course. Heer made the 2nd day particularly enjoyable and informative about both the subject and the finer details of the UCAS application process. I wish I had the time to have attended more of the courses this summer. I found the whole experience really inspirational and it has definitely helped me to affirm my career decision.
