I would strongly caution anyone…

I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing an extended warranty from Dealer Loyalty Protection, Inc.

When my vehicle’s transmission failed, they refused to honor the warranty and denied coverage for the repair. Their justification was that my contract was supposedly void because the vehicle had oversized wheels. The problem with that explanation is that I purchased the vehicle with those exact wheels already installed, and they sold me the warranty knowing the vehicle’s condition at the time of purchase.

I appealed the denial and asked them to explain how they could deny coverage for something that existed before the warranty was even sold. Rather than providing a meaningful explanation or evidence that the wheels caused the transmission failure, the CEO personally responded by essentially daring me to take legal action.

That level of customer service was shocking. Instead of standing behind the product they sold or addressing my concerns professionally, I was met with what felt like intimidation and a complete unwillingness to honor the contract.

An extended warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind when expensive repairs happen. In my experience, this company looked for a reason to avoid paying a legitimate claim rather than standing behind the coverage I purchased.

If you’re considering doing business with Dealer Loyalty Protection, Inc., read every word of the contract, ask difficult questions before you buy, and think carefully about whether you can rely on them when you actually need coverage. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I intend to continue pursuing all available avenues to challenge this denial.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Following your appeal, your claim was escalated to the Obligor for further review. During that review, it was determined that your Vehicle Service Contract had expired prior to the reported repair.

As outlined on the Schedule Page of your Vehicle Service Contract, the coverage term was 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever occurred first. A review of the contract and claim information confirmed that, at the time the claim was submitted, the vehicle had exceeded the contract’s mileage limitation. Specifically, your contract was purchased with 139,186 miles, and at the time of the claim, the reported mileage was 163,605 miles, exceeding the contract’s 24,000-mile coverage term by being 419 miles over the limit. Accordingly, the contract coverage had been exhausted prior to the reported failure.

Because the Vehicle Service Contract had expired before the reported loss occurred, the claim is not eligible for coverage. This determination is based on the expiration of the contract term, independent of any other issues that may have been discussed during the initial claim review. As the coverage provided under the contract had been exhausted, the claim denial remains valid and no further review or benefits are available.

This response is provided for informational purposes only and is based upon the information available at the time of this communication. Nothing herein shall be construed as an admission of liability, fault, wrongdoing, breach of contract, or improper claims handling. Dealer Loyalty Protection, Inc. expressly reserves all rights, remedies, and defenses available under the applicable contract and law. All rights are expressly reserved.

We understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for and regret any disappointment or inconvenience this situation has caused. Dealer Loyalty Protection remains committed to administering all claims fairly and consistently in accordance with the terms and conditions of each Vehicle Service Contract.

Be warned to do not purchase auto…

Be warned to do not purchase auto warranty from this company. They are the WORST. After months of them requesting repeated inspections they denied my claim. The Subaru service department said this was the worst company they ever had to deal with. Did they did not cover what was promised on the contract. They don't return calls. I would have to call repeatedly just to get someone to help and in the end they did nothing. A complete waste of money to pay for this fraudulent warranty

Very disappointed with this company

Very disappointed with this company. In my experience, this service contract was misleading and provided no real help when I actually needed it. I paid for coverage believing it would protect me from expensive mechanical repairs, but when my vehicle had a serious issue, the claim was denied.

The way this was handled made me feel like I paid for a contract that does not truly cover what customers are led to believe it covers. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for real protection. Read every exclusion carefully before buying, because when you need them, they may find a reason not to cover your repair.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the outcome of your claim, and we understand how frustrating it can be when a repair is not covered as you had hoped.
Because your review does not include any identifying information or a claim number, we are unable to review the specifics of your situation. If you are willing to provide your claim number, we would be more than happy to review your claim with you, answer any questions, and help clarify how your coverage determination was made.
We believe every customer deserves to have a clear understanding of the protection they are purchasing so they can make an informed decision and select the coverage that best fits their individual needs. That is why we encourage all consumers to carefully review their contract, ask questions, and fully understand their coverage before a repair is ever needed. We also recognize that service contracts can sometimes be difficult to interpret, and we are always happy to help explain the coverage and how it applies to a specific claim.
It is also important to clarify our role in the process. Dealer Loyalty Protection (DLP) does not sell Vehicle Service Contracts, determine which coverage a customer purchases, or receive payment for those contracts. We are an independent third-party claims administrator responsible for reviewing and administering claims in accordance with the terms and conditions of the specific service contract selected at the time of purchase.
Our objective is never to deny claims. Our responsibility is to evaluate each claim fairly, consistently, and according to the provisions of the applicable contract. When a repair is eligible for coverage under the agreement, we work diligently to assist our customers throughout the claims process.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and would welcome the opportunity to review your concerns in greater detail. Please contact us with your claim number, and we will gladly investigate your claim and provide a thorough explanation of the coverage determination. Our goal is to ensure you have a clear understanding of your contract and the decision that was made.

I cancelled my contract from these…

I cancelled my contract from these people.

These people are a rip off. I paid $5,000/ for the contract and they would not cover anything. They drill down and write:
After review of the information submitted by the repair facility, the failure to the valve cover is caused by the oil separator, which is a non covered emission.

The part is covered but because the damage was caused by a part not covers?? Never again!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the claim decision.

At our company, we value all of our customers and strive to administer claims fairly and consistently according to the terms and conditions of the service contract selected by each customer.

In this case, while the valve cover itself is listed as a covered component under your contract, the repair facility's diagnosis determined that the failure originated from the oil separator, which is an emissions-related component. Under the terms of your service contract, emissions components are not covered.

Because the oil separator is integrated into the valve cover assembly, the valve cover required replacement as a result of the failure of the non-covered emissions component. While we understand this distinction can be frustrating, coverage is determined by the cause of the failure, not solely by the component being replaced. Since the repair was necessitated by the failure of a non-covered emissions component, the repair did not qualify for coverage under the terms of the contract.

We understand your disappointment and appreciate your feedback. If you have any additional questions regarding your claim or would like to discuss the coverage determination further, our customer service team would be happy to review the details with you.

I RECENTLY HAD MY JAGUAR XJ IN AFTER…

I RECENTLY HAD MY JAGUAR XJ IN AFTER JUST BUYING IT SHORTLY THEREAFTER I HAD A DRIVESHAFT ISSUE AND TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY QUICKLY AUTHORIZED MY REPAIR , EMAILED DEALERSHIP AND I WAS LEFT ONLY WITH MY $100 DEDUCTIBLE PLUS TAXES. I DID NOT LEAVE IT UP TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AUTHORIZATION BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO DO MORE THAN NECESSARY WHICH WOULD HAVE DELAYED THE REPAIR. I CALLED MYSELF TO TELL THEM WHAT WAS NEEDED AND THANK GOD I DID BECAUSE IT ELIMINATED TIMELY AND USELESS INVESTIGATION THAT I DID NOT REQUEST, SO BE THE MIDDLEMAN ON YOUR REPAIR AND HELP SAVE BOTH YOU AND YOUR INTELLIDRIVE SERVICE CO THE HASSLE OF UNNECESSARY ACTIONS PLACED UPON THEM BY YOUR REPAIR TECHNICIANS. FOR GOD SAKES ITS A USED VEHICLE GIVE THEM A BREAK.

Total scam

Total scam. I have a shifter cable that needed to be replaced. I have a full powertrain and transmission warranty. They declined coverage saying it was an excluded item. They never could precisely show me where it was excluded but kept putting me off to the point you just give up.

100% scam company. You will not get taken care of with this company. Keep your money.

Liars, cheats, and unprofessional

Told me over and over I needed a police report or a detailed cause of loss letter. I gave them the info the police gave me the day of the accident since I contacted them back later and they said that there isn't a police report available so I ended up getting the documents from my insurance. When I contacted dealerloyaltyprotection for the gap claim they told me over and over again the same thing I said in the beginning even though I had all the documents. They refuse to give me the service that I paid them for and want me to do their job for them but is never satisfied and will never approve the claim. Then when I try to get ahold of them on the phone THEY HUNG UP ON ME multiple times. Terrible customer service, can't rely on them to uphold their end of the bargain, and will gaslight you for not sending the right documents even though they are in the email and they need to retrain or rehire the staff they got including . Richard from the Dealer Loyalty Program was incredibly helpful during a very difficult situation between the dealership payout and myself. I was stuck in the middle and having a hard time getting resolution. Richard knew exactly what to say, handled everything professionally, and got it resolved within just a few hours.

Not only did he get the job done efficiently, but he also made the entire experience stress-free. I truly appreciate his communication, knowledge, and dedication. On top of that, I feel like I built a genuine professional friendship/ business relationship.

I highly recommend Richard — 10/10 service! 🌟

My transmission went bad and the only wanted to cover half of the price for a new transmission that comes with a 100,000 mile warranty and half of the dealerships labor cost which left me to have to pay 4600 out of pocket!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE PLEASE BELIEVE THE REVIEWS WE ARE NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!!

If I could give it a zero

If I could give it a zero, I would. Don't ever let anyone talk you into buying a gap policy from these people. It is the most terrible place to do business with.
I totaled my car when a drunk pulled out in front of me. A police car filmed it. This company asked for four things for me to gather to send them. I did. After that they asked for 14 more things. Yes, 14 more things. Why? Just to try to get out of paying for the policy they had sold. If you dont gather them, they dont pay. Stupid things that really dont have anything to do with finalizing their obligation. After gathering these idiocy things, it's been 7 weeks and they have still not paid the car off. Try to call them you say? Impossible. They are trained to put you on hold till you give up. We are talking hours. This is After they will absolutely not return emails either. A company like this is what makes you understand why people go postal on a business. Why? Why do companies act like this. You bought the policy they were selling. They just dont want to pay what they are obligated to pay. Sorry ass company that people better take note and steer clear of if you dont want a major headache.

Please stay far far away from this…

Please stay far far away from this company. I wish I could give it zero stars. They are so unprofessional and their employees have no idea what they are doing. I was in an accident in July, and just got a call (January) that it was settled. The agents don't know how to communicate, gaslight, and refuse to help. I am a pretty calm person but this just about sent me over the edge. My case was settled with my lien holder months ago, and I just got a call 3 months later from this unprofessional company trying to go over my claim. When I finally reached out to the head of the company, things got done. Once again, Do not get gap insurance from this incompetent, unreliable, unprofessional company. They do not want to help their customers or pay the money that is owed.

I had worked with dealer loyalty…

I had worked with dealer loyalty protection for several months to have them pay out my gap insurance claim after an accident in July.

They were very helpful in making sure I submitted all of my documentation on time, and had everything I needed to file my claim.

After I submitted my documentation they did try to short change me a few thousand dollars on my gap payment.

After speaking with several people who weren’t very helpful, I did speak with Jonathan , who was extremely helpful in guiding me through the rest of the process, and ensured me that I’d receive the few thousand dollars gap owed me after working with my insurance.

After a few weeks of back and forth, I was able to have gap pay off the rest of my loan.

Overall my experience was very positive, Jonathan was great, and most of the people I spoke with at DLP were helpful.

Other than trying to short change me (which is their job, this is insurance after all) I am happy with my overall experience.

Loopholes and more loopholes

My car accident was 08/22 and they have not paid off my car yet, today is 12/05. Although I tried multiple times to reach out to them to start the process, I didn't get in touch with them until late September only for them to say they couldn't start the process until I signed and returned paperwork that basically allowed them to jump through multiple loopholes to NOT pay the car COMPLETELY off. So they finally started processing the request 09/29 and it is now 12/05 with no payoff and still getting the runaround. Today, I was told she could put it in to expedite my request, but, there was no guarantee that it would speed up the process. WHAT???? The longer it takes them to pay off my car, the more car payments go by, the less they have to pay. I HATE playing the car insurance game. If this is the ONLY GAP insurance company the dealership offers, get it, but make sure you find a different company in the next 30 days. This one is crappy.

Lied about my tire size to deny my claim.

Despite the wheels and tires on my 2012 Ford Flex being a factory size (235/55/R19), they denied my repair claim on the basis that they were an incorrect size. I tried explaining this to the adjuster in an email and then a phone call after they didn't respond, and still was told they were the incorrect size. So, 3k down the drain and a new transmission needed before too long.
Would not recommend. Just eat the bill over going to these guys
