ABUSING THE LAW
ABSURD, ABUSE OF THE LAW!!
It's absurd and disrespectful, not to mention the abuse of the law.
I bought the Deutschlandticket on 16 November and was only going to use it for 14 days (I was no longer in Germany in December). When I asked to cancel for December, I was told I had to cancel on 10 November, but how could I do that? Would I go back in time? As far as I know, they haven't invented that yet.
Then I was sent a fine to pay for the ticket that I told them I couldn't even use. As a student with no job, I was forced to pay a fine for an undue charge because they say it's the law. I really apologise but this is an abuse of the law and something should be done.
I've tried to contact them again to reverse the situation and I've received no reply, proof that I didn't use the ticket and that I had no way of cancelling it on the day I was told to do so. It's a lack of respect for the customer, an abuse of authority and a lack of respect for themselves. That's why the company is known for its lack of professionalism.

Bad service and a bad app
Our experience is going badly with the new app. Not only the app, the customer service hasn't been empathetic at all. We understand their job is to stay serious in these manners however, this app is new and quite often doesn't work well. We purchased a ticket, and it appeared as complete, how were we supposed to know that there were further steps to complete. The ticked was purchased yet we got fined. To try to figure this out, the worker was extremely rude. She has watched us attempted to what the proceeding steps where and when asking for help, her reaction was "how am I supposed to know? This was supposed to be completed before the trip". We kept stating that we believed that it was complete, where is the empathy? We had to get off and try to purchase another ticket aswell as a fine.
Scam detected.
Worst service on the planet!
Look at the ratings here on Trustpilot, look at the ratings on Tripadvisor!! Traveling with DB is a absolute nightmare. Shabby infrastructure, constant delays, canceled trains, the app does not work, booking procedures are an impertinence. On top of that, tickets are way overpriced. My advice: RENT A CAR!!

After loosing my train due to train platform change i was furious ! I was searching new platform and finally asked DB train conductor and she check on the board at the platform and she didnt see any info about my train so she check her special App and told me its not here its on the Platform 5 ! This is ridiculous ! The "kundenservice" told me that they dont know and for sure there was info. Then the guy told me to buy NEW ticket for a normal price 210 € ! THIS IS BEYONG EVERYTHING !
Terrible service
Terrible service. 3 hours late arriving. Massive mix ups at the start station (changed platforms several times before changing to a different station!), changing platforms several times mid way. Staff didn´t know or care what was happening. Spent 3 months trying to get compensation but was told in the end "Sometimes trains are late & we can´t help that"!

This is the worst train system in human history it is so bad my train got delayed 4 times and they keep sending me emails about how my train connection will not be met. Definitely 1 star
Scamming techniques
Can't put less than one star. Endless mail sent for my cancelled train ride to get reimbursed and now they re telling me to send then an actual letter through the actual post, way, one month after I sent them a request . This is obviously to discourage customers to get their money back ( my train didn't leave because of a bahn strike) Germany should be ashamed to offer such a fraudulent service. I m not going to give up, will ever use a lawyer if need be. Forgot to mention the endless wait on the phone and the less than cordial person that I talked to.

100% Rate congrats Deutsche Bahn, this year every ride had a delay of at least 15+ minutes which causes missing other connections. At least continuity in some way

Bahncards renewed automatically even if you elect to not auto renew in the APP
My husband and I ordered Bahncards good for 1 quarter in 2022. We both declined the subscription in the DB App. DB renewed my card for 1 year to the tune of 474 Euros. His was not auto renewed. I contacted them via email to say I didn't order a new card. They said they would investigate but instead handed the case over to a collections company who has no interest in the facts of the matter. Each bit of correspondence costs more money and now they have filed a district court claim. They filed over Christmas and New Year holiday knowing that most US Government workers would be on holiday. Don't but a DB card. Just pay as you go unless you are a daily commuter. Now I have to go to court.

La DB annule notre train de retour depuis l'aéroport de Francfort et nous refuse le remboursement des tickets ! C'est scandaleux "Hello Mr xx, Thank you for your e-mail....your ticket with order number xxxxxxxxx36 is a Super saver fare Europe (Super Sparpreis Europa). Such tickets are generally excluded from exchange and cancellation.

Terrible service
Terrible service. Missed the train because the doors literally opened and closed again 3 seconds later. Total rubbish service. Worse than the UK! At least the doors remain open for embarking or disembarking. Is there not a minimum time the doors should remain open? If I was disabled or had a child with me this would be impossible and illegal under EU law as it would be classed as discrimination
They sell tickets for trains they don’t operate and you end up paying twice!

I bought a ticket from Salzburg to Munich airport for 41€ (1st class)
Only to find out that the train mentioned on the ticket doesn’t accept this ticket and they charged me another 44€ on board of the first train from Salzburg to Munich Ost!
Nowhere on during the buying process was it mentioned that the ticket is only valid for the S8 train, I also paid for the first class option with the S8 train doesn’t even have.
This information was neither written in the confirmation email with the ticket.

Deutsche Bahn. Your train left 30 mins early than scheduled. Which of course I missed. You did put on a replacement train which then changed its destination and we were advised to get off by the passangers on board not your staff. I would like to thank the Deutsche Bahn customer service team who do a sterling job at not giving back refunds and putting up as many barriers as they can think of to stop any refunds happening on their watch.
