I previously instructed Davisons Solicitors in a family matter several years ago. I was surprised and disappointed to find that they later accepted instructions from my ex-partner in proceedings directly involving me. From my perspective, this created a conflict of interest and left me questioning their conflict-check process. I’ve since raised the issue with the firm. Sharing this so others are aware of my experience

From start to finish selling my bungalow the service provided has been excellent .
From the day I requested a quote which I received in less than 30 minutes , the communication had been excellent always responding quickly to emails , and always easy to get through on the phone to speak to anyone if I needed too
I have use many solicitors over the years to buy and sell properties however the team at Davisons Law have been outstanding .

Excellent service from start to finish. The team was professional, clear in their advice. Highly recommend

I received poor advice on SDLT — despite HMRC guidance being clear, I was wrongly told I’d need to pay the 3% surcharge. Communication was also disappointing: I called multiple times and only ever got one call back. I’ve now chosen to instruct a new solicitor.

Good company, They helped us to buy our property. They do keep you up to date with you’re sale/purchase via email or phone call. All staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have.

I am currently using this company to both buy and sell a house. I can honestly say it's been terrible service. Voicemails and emails go unanswered, not just from us but also the estate agents. No communication on what the latest is in the process. Upon signing they promise to provide updates every two weeks and I have heard very little. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Absolute joke of a company.
Cash only, no receipt:
Refused to take card payment or bank transfer after an appointment. Said it was cash only and we cant have a receipt. Had to refuse to leave without one and they scraped a makeshift one together on the spot. When I raised my concerns as to potential money laundering / tax evasion they told me they would get training, then they told me they do accept card payments elsewhere in the business and then just denied it ever happened.
Further potential fraudulent behaviour:
When their senior manager was out of the office (Scott) I got in contact with his secretary about a legal doc they needed to send, she clearly advised me "I have access to Scotts email and will just reply to them from there". I asked Scott why they impersonate each other and he told me firstly, its very common practice and they have an agreement. I naturally went back and said thats crazy, he then suddenly remembered thats not what happened. after questioning why she would say that he simply refused to engage (common story throughout)
Incompetence:
Some examples of their general incompetence:
1. Handed case off to a junior on day one without any noticeable supervision
2. Couldn't understand the difference between debit and credit on a bank statement.
3. Forgot to share documents internally which delayed purchasing the property and we incurred late fees.
4. Put the wrong address on all documents that they did send.
5. Told us 4 times that nothing was left outstanding only to reveal the morning of completion that half the documents where missing causing us further delays and more fees!
6. Lied to us as to why we couldn't complete blaming the postal system. I said I would drive up with the docs and they told us their cashiers finish early. I said I would be there before that and then they revealed they actually couldn't get hold of any of their solicitors (in a law firm!)
7. Could never get hold of them when needed, went missing for days on end. Had the same complaint from our finance company dealing with them.
8. Pressured into not complaining by Scott, told I could either complain or he could go of and work on the case. Didn't want to discuss face to face to told me its only an official complaint if I email.
After all this they refused to take a single ounce of responsibility and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, instead, sent me condescending emails saying "sorry for your perception"

If you are expecting professionalism , competence and communication then stay well clear of Davisons Law .
Got recommended them by Skitts to sell my apartment last year …
It started badly and got progressively worse and concluded with utter chaos and mental torture…
Arrogant, ignorant and even confrontational staff !
If you are unlucky enough to get Caeliaen Gardner ( Stafford ) then God help
You …
And his boss All Nijjar was not much better !
The former even asked me to do HIS JOB for him at one point baring in mind I paid nearly £2 k for the firms ‘service’ !!!
Numerous blatant ignoring of emails and requests to communicate.
And I was NEVER talked through the completion statement which I later found out was an important part of the sales process…
Totally unprofessional and incompetent…
I complained and got the insulting sum of £150 after 6 months of utterly dreadful treatment/ service…
Utterly horrendous
When I engage the services of a lawyer I expect that (a) they will represent me and not feel like they are representing the other party and (b) they will pay attention to my questions and help me to navigate the situation. In this simple conveyancing case, neither felt true. I'm glad this was just a simple piece of work. Suggest avoid for conveyancing (Coventry office).
Over 1 year later and we don’t own the house due to their mistake and now they are ghosting us!!! Please do not use it has left us in an awful situation.
Our seller used this solicitor during our house sale, they did the forms incorrectly and despite the land registry, the seller and also our solicitors asking for the correct information Davisons have ghosted everyone!!! We can’t sell or do anything with the house until this sale is complete and it’s now been over a year!!!!
Amanpreet was very good with communication throughout and was happy answering any questions we had.

From start to finish I have had the best experience, I was a signed a gentlemen named Nathan from the Edgebaston branch to deal with my case, through this whole experience he went above and beyond expectations even when there was some stressful moments I would recommend Davisons law to anyone needing a solicitor.

Without doubt the worst legal entity I have ever dealt with. I appointed the company to handle two transactions for me and they made a litany of basic errors and mistakes, including proceeding to exchange in my personal name rather than that of a company, which was buying the land, a mistake that could have cost thousands! The conveyancer responsible was neither conciliatory nor apologetic, and my subsequent complaint to the legal ombudsman was upheld. A very unpleasant experience from beginning to end.
Sohaib and Nataleigh were very efficient. Smooth process explained fully throughout. Thank you

Sohaib & Nataleigh were a pleasure to work with. Very helpful and communication was great from start to finish. I would definitely be using these solicitors again if needed in the future. I definitely recommend them.

We had an outstanding experience with Davisons Law, especially with our solicitor Rumun. From the very beginning, she was incredibly helpful, always available whenever we called, and answered all our questions with patience and clarity.
As first-time buyers, we had no prior experience and were coming off a negative encounter with a different solicitor firm. Rumun completely changed that for us. She guided us through the process with professionalism and empathy, and most impressively, helped us complete our purchase within a record-breaking time frame.
We couldn’t be more grateful for her dedication and support. I would highly recommend Davisons Law and especially Rumun to anyone looking to buy a home. Their service was truly above and beyond.

Despite difficulties with getting the chain to cooperate at times, the people I dealt with at Davisons Law were nothing but patient.
As a first time buyer they made me feel at ease at all points of the purchase. They kept me informed at all points, regularly chasing on my behalf.
Would definitely recommend to any first time buyers!

Used Davisons for my sale / purchase last year that eventually fell through. Communication with them is a nightmare, they'd never pick up their phone or respond to emails. Would have to chase and chase all week for them to finally send you a nothing update on a Friday afternoon.
We had estate agents chasing us asking us for an update as they couldn't get through to them. They seemed to drag absolutely everything out.
They even emailed me a year after it all fell through asking me what the latest update was, genuinely couldn't believe it.
We cut our losses and went with someone else in the end and completed without any issues.
I'm sure there are some decent people working there but honestly it's not worth the risk. Just go with someone else.
I never got any deposits back from them and I've just cut my losses. It's honestly preferable than dealing with these clowns again.

Absolutely terrible service from Lisa Shocker, this firm took on my personal injury claim and wouldn’t listen to a word I said. Constantly lied to me, I had to resort to taping phone calls. I them complained all they did was lie and cover there backs totally unprofessional if I could put zero i would . I suffered this treatment whilst dealing cancer.
Update
Not surprising that Davison law should choose to be dishonest instead of being apologetic. Interestingly you clearly know who Lisa Shocker is ref: ar:212762 if you persist in failing to acknowledging my complaint it just furthers my case.
