They have lovely properties, and the welcome was very warm and professional. The whole experience was smooth and pleasant from start to finish. I would totally recommend them to anyone looking for quality developments and a great first impression.

I finally feel like letting everyone know what was like to deal with David. The worse experience in my life, specially buying a brand new home, which we have done twice now, and this time it was a real nightmare. If you are looking to buy a house with David, think twice. He looks and acts nice, comes across well on the phone and in person, but when it comes to doing what he promised that’s a different story. You should see the house we purchased on a brochure and the house we got. It’s an endless list of problems and we never had closure on most of them. Nightmare from beginning to end, he is rude and unprofessional to say the least. Stay way.

I've never left a review before but I felt obligated. David Cole (himself) won't hesitate to swear at you if you're unhappy with the state of your property...

Firstly, FMW construction is not to be associated with David Cole despite their contractual relationship. FMW is very professional and I cannot criticise their efforts. They've already made it clear they won't be working with David after their contract is up.

On the other hand, David Cole and his son Alex (at Start & Co Newquay) have a lot to learn about professionalism, let alone how to communicate like adults.

I purchased and now own a 4-bed-new-build in Huckleberry, Lane. I got the keys on the 28th of May 2021. Going back a step; I reserved the plot on March 11th 21 and their target completion date was the 15th April 21. The month of May rolls around and I decided to exchange on the 5th of May (where I then became obligated). The target completion date was the 30th of May - a date they specified to me in legal contracts from solicitors. We completed on Friday the 28th of May and to say it wasn't completed is an understatement. We're not talking about a few scuffs and an alignment issue with switches. We're talking about electrical sockets hanging off the wall, no carpets down, unusable showers... This isn't the first home I've purchased either. I'm privvy to the process and what constitutes "snagging".

The issues that have arisen are down to poor people and time-management from David Cole Homes and Alex Cole from Start & Co.

I subsequently complained and Mark (MD) from FMW Construction came round within 3 hours of sending an email. David Cole also turned up which is when it all went terribly wrong and downhill...

David Cole Homes is not a developer I'll ever be purchasing through again. Based on my experience and interactions, he's not a person you want to do business with. Don't be naive in thinking it's a one-off unfortunate experience. The whole street at Huckleberry, Newquay is furious with him, as are the residence at the other sites he's built on.

David Cole only cares about getting your money. He's not in the business of building "homes", he's in the business of building houses with total disregard to you, the customer who pays him.

Stay well away.
