**Review of Countrywide Surveyors**

**Review of Countrywide Surveyors**

I had a frustrating experience with Countrywide Surveyors that I feel compelled to share. Their initial appraisal seemed accurate, but after weeks of waiting, they sent a completely different valuation to my broker, which led to the loss of my offer with the bank.

This inconsistency raises serious questions about their professionalism and expertise. Communication was lacking at every step, with customer service being particularly unresponsive when I tried to address my concerns.

Overall, my experience suggests a concerning level of incompetence at Countrywide Surveyors. I strongly advise others to consider alternative options.

Avoid Countrywide - less than zero star.

Avoid Countrywide – A Costly and Frustrating Experience

Sharing this in good faith so others can avoid wasting their time, money, and potentially risking their property deal.

Unfortunately, I can't give less than one star. In one sentence: STAY AWAY FROM COUNTRYWIDE.
We had a surveyor, C. Randall, sent out by Countrywide, and the experience was unprofessional from the very beginning. Despite being told we'd receive a call 90 mins prior with an estimated arrival time, no such call came—he simply turned up unannounced, without formal ID. Once inside, he quickly glanced at a few rooms (not even all of them) and completed the entire survey in under five (5) minutes. There was no meaningful engagement or effort to understand the significant renovation work that had been done on the property.

The final valuation for our three-bedroom property came back £30,000 below expectations—shockingly, even lower than what the property was originally purchased for six years ago. It was almost laughable. Since then, we've had two independent valuations carried out, both in line with the original asking price and £30,000–£35,000 higher than what Countrywide reported.

When I tried to raise a formal complaint, I was told the valuation could not be appealed—the surveyor's decision was final, with no regard for the glaring discrepancy. This forced us to find a new lender, pay for another valuation, and caused delays and unnecessary stress for everyone involved. The deal nearly collapsed because of this unjustified undervaluation.

I would not recommend Countrywide to anyone. The entire process felt rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional. It’s clear some of their surveyors do not listen to, or even acknowledge, the homeowners—let alone respect the work that’s gone into the property.

If you have any say in which surveyor or company to use, do not choose Countrywide. The experience was nothing short of a joke.

AVOID if you want a professional service

I can see why cwsurveyors (aka Countrywide Surveying Services) have such as bad rating.

They undertook an EPC assessment at my property and downgraded the EPC rating although I'd made many efficiency upgrades to the property.

When I complained that they'd gave a lower rating for the absolute highest energy efficient heating system that had been fitted since the last EPC, when the last heating system fitted previously was far inferior for energy use, they responded to say they don't agree and that's final. This was from an escalated Head of department.

Disgusting way of dealing with customers and thoroughly unprofessional.

Deceptive

After being recommende by my mortgate provider (i wont make that mistake again). I called and asked about the level 3 which cost arounf £1000. I was told it wouldnt include a full valuation unless I paid another £200 but would include a basic valuation to compare with the advertised price. However this was a complete lie and the report contained nothing of the sort. £1000 down the drain as without a comparison the report means nothing. The only response I got was "we will mention it to the trainers" Great, thanks. I will be recommending to everyone I know where I work and my friends and family to avoid this company like the plague if this is the way they treat customers.

Several nuisance calls per day

I looked for quotes for surveyors and obtained a few, including Countrywide’s. Ever since then, they have been calling, texting and emailing me every few hours, despite me emailing back to ask them to stop and responding STOP to their texts (as instructed to be taken off their call list).
Feeling very good with my decision to go with a different company given the constant harassment.

Nuisance automated calls

I consulted CW surveyors when I was trying to find a surveyor. I decided not to go ahead with them and called them to let them know. I am still getting automated phone calls 2-3 times a day

Avoid them at any cost

Avoid them at any cost. We did the mistake to ask for a survey quote by phone. They gave us an expensive quote and we said "NO this is over our budget thank you very much but we will NOT go ahead with you" Since then and even though we did our job with another surveyor they still keep calling and texting us. we keep ignoring them but it is not possible to block their number. A guy called Muneer (he knows personally very well that we don't need his services) keeps texting us with an offer of 25% off etc. but really..this is an absolute joke..

Absolute joke

Absolute joke of a survey. Paid extra for what I was told was an in depth thorough report where they actually look behind furniture and go around the property what I am now told is if it isn't in plain view they aren't looking. Made a formal complaint about my gutters (fault can be seen from ground level) and im told that this isn't plain view so my complaint doesnt stand. There are alot of things given the all clear like the windows and doors all of which are leaking water into the house the front door handle was falling off. How are these items not in plain site? However things like my guttering that cannot be thoroughly inspected from the ground they see fit to tell me there is no fault with. How on earth can they tell you something is faultless when they haven't inspected it!Also don't release the report until you first pay then sign terms and conditions. I think maybe next time I would like to see the terms and conditions first before I hand over my money. I wud like to know before hand that you can write a report full of lies and have a get out clause stating you cannot be sued
