Dedication

Dedication, passion and lot of hard work.

If I had to describe CWMUN in three words, no doubt they will be it.
My journey with Associazione diplomatici has evolved in many ways from being a delegate in CWMUN nyc and CWMUN emirates till being the tutor of amazing delegates.

The different prospectives that everybody at the conference give makes you understand life from different cultural point of view.

I will never thank enough each second spent talking with the other delegates and staff member which were absolutely making our selves comfortable as at home, the emotions we shared will be forever with me.
Till the next schedule CWMUN!

Associazione diplomatici makes you feel at home.

Associazione diplomatici makes you feel at home. The guys who makes part of it give the opportunity to thousands of other guys to realize their dream, and come out bigger and more aware. It's all a team building game and that's what makes it work so well! Special thanks to Alice Corbino, without her none of this would have been possible. She is a special person, with a crazy professionalism. Thanks Alice and thanks to the whole team for once again giving me the opportunity to feel at home.

Review

it was a bit too hectic at times with the super early/late meetings, running on basically no food because there was no time and everyone was sleep deprived which made the mood a bit dire on the last day

Good learning process, good organization, pretty damn incredible place to work, very supportive team, remarkable memories, incredible people

This MUN has been the greatest…

This MUN has been the greatest experience in so many ways.
It was great to get to work and interact with people from all over the world, but one of the things that I enjoyed the most was definitely seeing the delegates happy and committed.
From this conference I also got the importance of team work. I’m so grateful for all of the staff members, I always knew that I could always rely on someone if I ever needed help and overall we created such a beautiful bond.
The meetings and long hours were absolutely worth it and essential for the good outcome of the conference, which I think we definitely achieved.

Legitimate organisation with legit granted scholarship and education package

Let's start off with some positive review: in general, the tutors I had were really helpful and quick in term of response time. They were always ready to help us in case of question. The digital zoom classes were insightful too and they would send the absent students the recording to revise the class. This made it easier for students with a busy schedule to not attend it but to watch the recording and send it back to the tutors with comments on the class. The granted scholarship is legitimate, it is NOT A SCAM. It is a scam if you don't read all mails and don't follow all steps. So, the reddit posts about how big of a scam they are, are just not okay but rather to put down this organization. (Don't play with someone's food!). The organization also organized activities outside of the planned conference events, which made it fun for students to socialize outside of the conference rooms and also be the tourist in New York in a safe environment.

In overall, I like CWMUN and recommend it to other students. There are no discrimination at any level as well.

I don't want to critize as CWMUN is not transparent about everything, which is understandable.

Though, there are some confusing points and moments. First, apparently, all university students are eligible to participate. Which is weird, as long as you are an university student, you can just sign up for the event and you will get accepted even though you don't even know anything about it. This lead to meetings with less dialogues due to delegates who did not know the procedure of the meeting or even the event itself. They just signed up because 'I want to experience New York and my friend is also participating'. Realise this: there are real students who are so nervous and holding themselves back for signing up because they are sure they won't get accepted by you guys, they take you guys so seriously. Apparently, you guys don't even take it seriously by just accepting everyone after a 2 minute interview without even knowing anything about the participant. There was not a chance to have the real UN experience as the conference took place outside of the UN headquarter and the keynote speakers were not working in the UN. Most speakers we had, the university students, came from Italian organizations. CWMUN is an Italian organization, but the students are coming from all over the world. It seems like they want to introduce just the Italian keyrole players in the private sector rather the UN workers. It made me dissapointed as well as my co-delegates. Also, there were a lot of students who brought themselves in very dangerous situations and people were talking about it. If only the people within the organization were more amongst the students, they would notice these events and took care of it rather than having people gossiping about it. Also, the awards were giving away to delegates who violated the rules and principles of good behaviour. This also made some delegates confused. How can a delegation who came in late and all drunk won the prize of best delegate? How come delegates who did not stay in character won the prize of best delegate? More explanation of the results would be more helpful or at least give a chance to talk about it and not this way. Lastly, most people don't know the rules of the UN. It is important to also explain this after the last meeting what to bring with and what ABSOLUTELY NOT, for example: nationalistic symbols and expressions, food, drinks and sharp objects.

Once again, I recommend CWMUN to other students and encourage them to participate in this MUN. So just sign up, because CWMUN just accepts everyone. It is not a big deal, really. IF you are reading this review and hestitates to sign up, just do it and maybe see you there!

A Catalyst of Friendship and Learning

Learning alongside Associazione Diplomatici and CWMUN for around a year, now, I can confidently say that the atmosphere the organization provides is one akin to that of a large family. As with any smaller organization, there are ups and downs, but hiccups are quickly rectified by the dedicated and professional team of full-time and volunteer staff. If you are on the fence, deciding on whether or not to pull the trigger on the experience of CWMUN, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. If nothing else, I can assure you, you will finish with vital, new connections as well as the privilege of having discovered a new city.

My only tip for new applicants is to also consider the conferences in Rome, the Emirates, and now Singapore. These conferences have slightly fewer attendees, but through that provide a space to truly get to know your fellow delegates. The less hectic environment gives way to even more meaningful friendships and opportunities to branch out and enjoy your surroundings!

Director at CWMUN

I learned a lot on how MUN works but also on the world and it’s geopolitical challenges, as many speakers were invited to the conferences. I had the chance to access the GA of the UN which was definitely a long term goal of mine. It was a fun and interesting experience !

CWMUN NYC 23

Davide, “order”. Expensive but one in a life time experience to see and learn how to debate with your fellow delegates about real world issues in a controlled environment. Visiting the UN and sitting in the seats where real world ambassadors debate is something I will never forget.
The only negative for me was the organisation of the trip was subpar.

AMAZING but alittle expensive

Alittle expensive, but absolutely LOVED IT. I was in the adaptability team and I had so much fun debating, speaking and formulating speeches. I learnt how to be a professional diplomat and got to speak about pressing world issues, create resolutions. It was a lot of fun, only issue is that some of the students can be alittle off putting and don’t stay in character. You get to go to the real UN headquarters and we had speeches from prominent politicians like the former president of Serbia. Only negative could be organisation of the trip and transparency on certain things. DAVIDE was amazing, he was the chair in WHO and couldn’t stop screaming "ORDER " into the mic everything we got too rowdy (felt like I was in the House of Commons) but overall a good experience. If you can afford it definitely GO, if not SAVE UP!

What made this experience great is…

What made this experience great is first the multicultural connections, the organization of the sessions was great. The opening ceremony with the third challenge was amazing. Our tutors Giada Ferraro and Giusi made this experience even better with their mentoring, support and information. For me this was one of the best experience ever. I cannot be more than thankful with the whole staff. This was my third CWMUN (2 virtual and 1 live in NYC) and every year is even way better.

The experience was truly amazing!

The experience was truly amazing!
First, the Marriott Marquis was an incredible hotel, with high standards and a perfect location allowing to have a perfect balance between attending the session and discovering the NYC.
Secondly, all the sessions were well organised and we were provided all the information in order to be ready for the real sessions (such as the e-learning platform or the zoom sessions).
Finally, the challenges and the opportunity to enter the UN and to hear such insightful lectures were a one-life opportunity. And I am deeply grateful for that.

I really loved the experience and I believe that it gave me pillars for the future. However, I believe that the organisation of the event could have been a little better.
