Banned and blocked after years of…
Banned and blocked after years of loyalty and Gold status
I’m genuinely shocked by the way Cult Beauty has treated me. I had Gold status, accumulated credit and a substantial history of orders, yet I was banned after simply asking them to investigate an item that was missing from a delivery.
I never once asked for a replacement—I only asked them to look into what had happened. The item was eventually delivered by the driver several weeks later, but by then Cult Beauty had blocked my email address, so I couldn’t even contact them to explain.
I returned the rest of the order, including all the relevant returns, and received neither a refund nor a replacement. Cult Beauty then continued sending me promotional emails, so I hoped the whole experience might have been a one-off and recently tried ordering again. The orders were initially processed and then cancelled, with no opportunity whatsoever to speak to a real person.
Years of loyalty, Gold status and all the credit I had built up have effectively been frozen and lost. But even that is nothing compared with the way their emails made me feel—as though I were being treated like a criminal for reporting a genuine problem. The tone was incredibly cold, accusatory and upsetting.
I even reached out to Cult Beauty’s founder, who amazingly took the time to respond. She explained that the company’s values have changed and that she is no longer involved. Sadly, that feels completely consistent with my experience. The service is night and day compared with the Cult Beauty I previously knew.
I still don’t know whether these decisions are being made by AI or whether this is simply how loyal customers are now treated, but the complete refusal to communicate is astonishingly rude. After investing so much time and money with Cult Beauty, it’s Sephora and Space NK for me from now on.

Gone down hill immensely

Every order has had communication issues and the customer service are legit idiots. They don't even read and give you template responses
Been a customer for over 13 years and it's so bad now. Even the cult status rewards are hardly as exciting as they were

Delivery was upgraded, which was a lovely surprise. I only ordered it at 10.30pm and had the item by lunchtime the next day. I’m not used to that living in a rural area.

Fast delivery, disappointing product
Delivery was very fast and the ordering process was easy. Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with the product I purchased as the texture was far too heavy, thick and sticky for me. Overall, great delivery service, but disappointing product experience.
