David Byrne at The Piece Hall, Halifax (18.7.26) was an absolutely brilliant event. I’ve been to over 600 gigs in my lifetime and this one went straight to the top of my list of favourites. The venue is beautiful, entry was swift and the staff were polite and professional. The show was visually spectacular and the sound was crystal clear. It’s an evening that I’ll never forget.

Wow David Byrne, musicians & dancers/vocalists amazing a show with a heartfelt narrative & brilliant visuals. Dancing & singing along infectious. Support Anna Calvi superb too; getting to experience Anna & David’s duet! First time at Piece Hall - Halifax hipster central on sizzling Saturday evening. Gained access and vantage points in Piece Hall superb. Not even going to mark down the silly security experience - scanning knees to ankles??

Saw David Byrne at the Peace Hall. Halifax. We have seen lots of concerts at this venue. But this one topped them all. AMAZING , brilliant from start to finish.

Been to several gigs at the venue which is stunning. However the Accessibility viewing platform is too far away from the stage and it's difficult - if not impossible - to see past anyone sat in front of you. Non accessible band wearing people seemed to be given priority at the accessible toilets and were even queue jumping which was very stressful. Especially as they were belidgerent and aggressive when confronted politely by others expressing their medical needs. Vape and weed smoking also spoilt the experience this time but the worst was being nearly crushed exiting the accessibility / priority gate (North Gate) after the concert with disabled people being forced into the same exiting crowd as everyone else with no consideration for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues etc. The staff are really friendly and helpful but the accessibility experience and lack of nearby parking for those with mobility issues, makes for a difficult and stressful experience.

This was our first time attending an event at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, so wasn't sure what to expect. We were not disappointed! Convenient parking nearby and straight forward in terms of entering and leaving the venue. The stewards / security were also friendly and welcoming. Plenty of facilities available. As for the event - Alex James' Britpop Classical certainly brought the energy and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

David Byrne last night was absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect; sound, lighting, and the weather. The show was great and the musicians first class. It’s a brilliant venue and the atmosphere is superb.

I would echo exactly the comments of one of your previous reviewers Christine. We attended the James Taylor show at the Piece Hall and he and his band were superb. The ambience for this type of performer is perfect at this venue and the facilities and organisation is perfect 👌 However, I fully agree with Christine re. the lack of seating! Me and my wife are of a similar age to her and whilst I managed to stand for most of the performance, my wife had to sit on a step which restricted her view and comfort. Surely the provision of some temporary seating or even allocated areas where you could bring your own picnic type chairs could be arranged! Food for thought for the Piece Hall!!!!

The Piece Hall is a great venue particularly in the current weather with excellent facilities. We were kept up to date with changes in performance times via email. And of course James Taylor was an amazing performance and show.

Gig was great but we were charged 3 times for a shuttle bus. Cuffe and Taylor will not reply to emails or social media posts.

The gig was great but we were really dissatisfied with the quality of the beer.
At £7.50 a pint you expect better than a watered down flat beer. The Camden pale ale was totally flat within minutes of being poured and the San Miguel which my partner drinks regularly at our local, lacked the flavour she is used to. We can only surmise that it’s being watered down. I’d rather pay £10 a pint for a quality drink so it would not detract from the excellent performances on stage. This was our sixth visit to the piece hall and it seems like each time the beer is worse than before.
I’m not surprised that all the neighbouring pubs are packed out before the gig, next time we’ll be joining them and reducing our spend in the venue.

James Taylor at the Piece Hall in Halifax was just brilliant. The venue is superb and James said the same, so who can argue.
Staff were great, no heavy queuing and toilets were clean and tidy.
Will we be there for more -absolutely!!
